  1. I want to share my bad experience on Bosch after sales service also... My dryer broke down on May 27, burnt my socket, twice. I called Bosch service centre to arrange for repair service on May 28 and was given the earliest date on June 8 (Fri, 1pm-6pm). After waiting for 2 weeks, their technician did not turn up for the stated appointment, and did not even have the courtesy to call to inform. I called the service centre again at 4pm on June 8 and received a confirmation from th staff mentioned that the appointment is on schedule and technician will turn up before 6pm. But still, they did not turn up. Sent a complaint via their website feedback form but till now no response. On June 11, I called to make a complain and get a reschedule date on June 12 (Tue, 4pm-6pm), waited and still the technician did not turn up and no calls to inform. 4th call to the service centre this morning (June 13). The service staff said he will check and get back to me but did not. At 1:45pm, I called the service centre again and got to know the next appointment has been scheduled on June 22. This is ridiculous! Bosch is a well-known brand but the after sale service is terrible. My dryer has already broken down for 3 weeks, the technicians have not been showing up on both fixed appointments. And now, still want me to wait till June 22 for the next appointment??? This is unacceptable!!! They also didn't bother to call me back to inform that they have rescheduled to June 22. I've told the staff on the phone that I want to speak to his manager. He said he can only reach the manager via email. He gave me an email address, which later that I found out it's a generic email address 'bshsgp.service@bshg.com'. This will be my 1st and last time to purchase appliance from Bosch. Eventhough the product is good but the after sales service sucks!
  2. as promised, Darren has settled most of the defects b4 CNY, left only 3 issues dat he's still trying to resolve for me. thumbs up to his responsibility. He even came to change my door bell himself! Super hands on boss. Though there were some coordination issues with the PM and some not so good workers, which happens in any ID firms, I'll still go back to Darren if i need any further renov work.
  3. sklovenest, my case is similar to urs. Darren is good, responsible but super busy. Proj Mgr sucks! Told him many times on a particular issue but never get resolved. Always shout at workers and piss them off, made them work in very unhappy mood, like that how to produce good quality output. Also, reminded him that if he changed the number lock, must informed me but never! Always when i cannot open, call him then he said oh ya, change number. Asked me to fax my purchase invoice to him so that he can contact the store to arrange for suitable date for delivery to coincide with the installation date, but never happen! I still have to keep chasing him until i gave up and did the coordination myself. My renov started last yr Dec 13 and till now still yet to complete! Darren juz came to my place to identify the defects last sat. I'm putting my trust on him that he'll get the defects done before year end since I've made my final payment. It's almost a year! Also, i m glad that he has get rid of previous walk-in wardrobe supplier coz their workmanship and materials sucks! Carpentry work standard is normal, not excellent but acceptable as I've seen better. Glass work fantastic. Painter wise depends on which worker they allocate. Initial 2 batch can't make it, however, the 3rd painter (Hamzah) who came to do the touch up did a fantastic job, impressed by his skill. Electricians are pretty good too. Plumber workers are great, especially the one who's the shortest among the team and the other one who's very thin. Both are good. However, their boss's skill sucks! Scratched my vanity solid top, told me he'll sand it off but never. Also, scratched my new washing machine and yet denied. In general, I think it is impossible to find an ID firm who has all great suppliers and workers. I think a lot is still depend on luck, just like within a company some workers are more skilled some are not, so depends on who you have been allocated. I'll still recommend Darren as contractor as he's assertive to his suppliers. If only he has few more staffs who are as capable as him, I think my renov will go much smoother and got done within 3 mths.
  4. Anyone installed Strip flooring or Carbonised Bamboo flooring b4? Are they better than laminated flooring? My current living room is homogenous tiles. Feels very sticky especially during rainy days. And the grout between tiles get dirty and unable to remove the dirt. So, I'm considering overlay the tiles with either strip flooring, carbonised bamboo flooring or laminated flooring. Need advise as to which type of flooring is more lasting and easy to maintain. Also, price wise, which is more economical.
  5. Spoken to Doris fr D'Zander on phone, twice. Nice & friendly lady. Made appt to meet her at her showroom at 1+pm. Went to D'Zanger at 1:15pm, didn't manage to meet Doris, she was still out. Was served by her staff instead. Their quote is on the high side but decided to go with them coz they have curtains, wallpaper and window film. Actual measuring in 2 weeks time. Below is the quote: Curtain 3 sets half length with iron rods = $1k Frosted Film 4 pcs come with 10yrs warranty = $170 Wallpaper 2 rolls of 53cm = $400 Total = $1,570. Disc = $20. Nett = $1,550

  9. my experience with them is super bad!!! Over priced dining set...trying to force me to add more items, ended up i don't want then the salesman reduced to the price which i initially bargain. Waited 2mths for delivery!!! on the day of delivery, didn't turn up. I waited whole day, then called their logistic the told me shipment delayed. Ok fine, at least inform me don't let me wait. Also, i reminded them that the next delivery make sure is on a sat, no weekday, she said ok. Yesterday, suddenly called said delivery today!!! I said i already told them i want sat delivery why arrange on Wed which i hav to apply for leave to wait. They said coz polling day no delivery. ok nevermind, i asked then to make sure its between 11am to 1pm so i just need to take time off during lunch instead of take leave. They said ok. Ended up they were late. I called them at 1pm they said will arrive in 15mins, ended up came at 1:30pm. I asked to speak to manager at tradehub 21, they said manager off day only salesman around. Asked to speak to the salesman who settle the deal with, said he also not around. PISS! worse still! they only delivered the dining set, without the bedside cabinet. Asked the deliveryman, he said cabinet is another supplier, not theirs. So hav to arrange another delivery. Wah biang eh!!! I will never ever patronise NOVA again! EVER!!!!

  13. i'm sourcing for fridge, hob, washer & dryer also...did comparison between Best, Gain City, Courts & Parisilk Katong & Holland Village. Guess wat? Courts is the most ex! Parisilk Katong is the lowest but cna only pay cash. parisilk HV is the next best price (ard $20 more) and able to pay cc instalment and free delivery but the lady on the phone bit rude lah and they dun hav old models.
  14. i also juz engaged Darren to do my renov...started last mon, everything went well so far. I must say Darren is very accomodating...my geomacer last min made some changes to my bedroom door requirement and Darren was able to accomodate. My geomacer said must start renov on sun morning, Darren also able to accomodate. He also gave v practical suggestion as to whether can do or cannot. All the hecking works were done last week and i requested to heck 1 more wall after dat, he also nvr said difficult or wat. He's also v detailed...when choosing tiles, he will make sure that the size of the tiles match nicely...he even pour water on tiles juz to make sure its not slippery...thumbs up! Though hav to admit he's super busy coz now perk period for renov. But as long as you called he will sure follow up with calls or email even at wee hours. Quotation wise i'd say its reasonable.
