  1. *thumbs up!* it boils down to personal preferences la.. i had the same discussion alot of times with my husband too.. whether if we should go all out throughout the house or be selective. btw where did you get ur coffee table and bench from? scanteak? i am trying to hunt down a few minor pieces of furniture to fit my house.. thanks~
  2. Calcium build up on granite sink is common! There's a few house hold tips on it. Just google.
  3. Day #11's progress Progress this week is really slow. Suspect the contractor didn't order sufficient tiles and they only arrived yesterday. MBR toilet tiles are finally going to be up. My 3D subway tiles as backsplash is looking even better.. Can't wait to see my kitchen in its full glory. More works will be done today.. Stairs iron wrought banister will be changed, windows will be coming in.. Hopefully things are still on time.
  4. no choice... we really only have 1 to 1.5 mths dateline. =P
  5. yes.. they r the 2nd most expensive tiles in the house at $9 psf. the kids toilet mosaic which cost the most was absorb by the contractor as it is very minimal.
  6. ur EM feels very spacious!
  7. Use photobucket. All u need is email add and pw. Then can start uploading already
  8. Undermount sink will have gap btwn ur counter top and sink where water can seep in and mould will grow. Unless you cement ur sink in... Flush with ur counter top den water seepage problem might be solved. However mould STILL can grow over time in any gaps u have. Then, if u are very concern about hygiene won't you want to be able to change your sink?? ^^ then if it's cemented in or under mounted, how to change? Break up the entire sink area? If I don't like the blanco sink, my lost is only 555 (price of the sink n tap). Not the entire area. I hope this explanation helps. ^^
  9. must be the trend nowadays huh.. >.<
  10. Yes. They are real tiles. Not wood planks. Hahahaha.
  11. I was told those areas once filled with grouting will be ok. Its more bcoz Hdb walls is not 100% aligned.
  12. Definitely! The effect of these tiles will be better in larger areas. My kitchen is too small to actually have the effect intended for these tiles. Grouting will match accordingly if I am not mistaken. Ya. The only con of these tiles are that they actually cost more than real timber strips.
  13. Some additional photos... Full effect of my kitchen floor tiles... :P My switches will be concealed into the walls..
  14. :jawdrop: :jawdrop: 55k! a really good bargain. good location too! gd luck in your reno~

  18. Thanks thanks. This error has been rectified. Hopefully the next few days will be smooth sailing.
  19. I can't seem to find this. Issit Ikea Tamp you went? must go roam a few more times
  20. Day #10 Of all the heart attacks my contractor provide, today was one that I cannot accept.. He wanted to undermount and flush my beautiful blanco sink.. when I specifically want to TOP MOUNT.. I know it will be impossible for me to change to undermount on a later date.. but at least I can change sink right?!?!?! OMG! *chases the contractor around and 8| 8| *
  21. Tiling works in progress Sneak peek of my kitchen wood tiles~
  22. Ur helper good in house work? Mine is ok but still can't maintain my granite very well so no more granite this time round too. Scratches on acrylic surfaces can happen easily.. My mum is using acrylic - she complains that even some decorative metal tissue box can scratch it. However, I must stress that scratches on light acrylic surface is not easy to be seen unless u scrutinize it la! Stains........ Of course is another story all together.
