  1. Hi Rachelcheng, Yup it was full. Responsive for sure, We chose the 2nd choice as the 1st choice was much more expensive, but somehow the 1st choice was delivered. He was willing to absorb the difference. While the tiler did highlight to use that that batch was very uneven/not flat to a point where it will be difficult to get to match up nicely with the beside. So we told him just to go ahead and try his best. In the evening when we returned, (entrance to living done up) he showed/told us that it is very uneven, we spoke to Douglas and he said no problem and told the tiler to remove it and order our 2nd choice of tiles. Then everything swee swee liao =) His electrician ran one of the hidden wiring trunking wrongly he and told them to re-do it. One small issue was that we were going through the plans for the switches and the electrician told me/gave me some wrong info and made me bought some wrong Clipsal switches. =S The rest are pretty ok. Carpentry - Just make sure and confirm the drawing first before getting them to start working on it! The shoe rack was done up right(angles and spacing was impractical too spacious and waste of internal space) after 2 revision. Well his carpenter said they know how to catch the lines of the laminate which I have to admit that had done that flawlessly as my friends was trying to find where the hinge/door line is! lol Charges is best if you get a quote from him and others to compare. Cheap, don't expect good unless you know the person very close. You want good, don't expect to be cheap and fast. Expensive doesn't mean everything confirm good also. I did a side by side comparison with a colleague quotesssssss, some more exp, some cheaper. I believe it is best to have someone with right attitude and responsiveness. Why wanna chase after ppl who don't bother to quote or worst still, to face with ppl that have a change off attitude after making the first payment like what I read from some other T-blog... It's hard for ppl like us cos we won't know the person character and whether is he willing to help correct what is wrong from your point of view? For my ID, I can say he is responsive, and is willing to make changes, some his side fault, some our fault we also wanna change at out own cost and of course some stuffs free!
  2. Can check out Alexandra for the picture. I saw it on display, not sure whether there are still stocks. You can check out online for the stock status.
  3. Hi Reine, thanks alot =) lol, wise decision, I thought our hood wasn't working or something as they wasn't any oil in the oil collection cup but we were surprise that my neighbour's exact same hood has about 1/3-1/2 filled with oil! They really cook alot unlike us.. Glass hob looks good but glass are harder to be clean(streak free)... Come to think of it, I should try using my squeegee cleaning it like I do for my toilet shower glass. The oven is fine so far, haven't use it extensively like baking.
  4. Hi Petetherock I not too sure but I didn't see any chalk board paint @ Spotlight last time. Saw your thread that you're getting the wishbone chair. Looks good but doesn't seem comfortable..
  5. Hi xtac, guess you're from Jade Spring too as there isn't any photos of my kitchen with green tiles and HDB didn't gave any option for the wall tiles. The tiles are painted with tile paint which can be purchase from Home-Fix for about $80+
  6. Hi MerfMerf, thank you and sorry for troubling ya! I was there a few days ago getting another Clipsal switch and didn't found a timer like that... I will have to ask them about it tmr. Thanks again!
  7. Nice light you got there, don't worry about maintenance, just use a vacuum cleaner once a month or two. BTW, may I know where did you get the timer for the water heater? I have been looking at home-fix and a few hardware store but couldn't find one that is build in type like yours.
  8. Hi Rain, Oh thank you very much for your compliment! c",)
  9. Greatly appreciate your advice! I will use a paint tray (so as to limit the depth of the iron particle to sink) and get a couple of replacement roller sponge(for each of the multiple coats) to try it out. lol, I think there's no flair in DIY bah, I had my downs in DIY also as some process wasn't thought of till **** happens..
  10. Thanks for the tip. I try the metallic primer on another surface first before deciding to go ahead with the paint job. I will take up your suggestion with the fridge magnets =) As for the chalkboard paint, it's water base(easy to wash off with water). I still have plently left(after applying 3 coats) and it's relatively easy to apply with those roller foam brush. You just need to be careful about going to thick at one time as the rolling strokes may appear too obvious. Spraying may seem easy but you need to masked up/cover a huger area as compare to painting. Also, it take abit of skill too..
  11. Amateur u say? I promote you to semi-pro! =D Glad to see that you have green hands unlike me as my plants are sadly going down south.. one of the two of a same type of plant place at different height of the shelf is whitering. Only can shift the withering one to the one that is not withering. As for your Xmas decorations, I suggest you go mainly with white and silver with a bit of red here and there. The mirror looks great and nice twist on the alarm clock!!
  12. Hi Knownothing, damm mann, I have just one click buy from Amazon which is lightly cheaper after adding in shipping cost $*. Just to check, how many coats of the metal primer did you applied onto the surface? What type of surface did you paint it on? Were you able to wash the metal primer paint off the brush? If you could, I recommend you change your nick to Knowsomething =)
  13. I see same brand as the blackboard paint I used. Thanks alot again =)
  14. I can't decide for ya as need to see the rest of the place and pieces. Mostly darker or lighter tone?
  15. Nice and clean! I prefer this than the ikea piece. The side table cum magazine rack is one piece that we had consider before which we KIV. Go comfort design Ubi/Eunos (main branch) to have a look and check out the links shared by Adidaem. Comfort design is consider cheaper as compared to the other famous furniture shops but must be careful about the workmanship, we gave up on the eames lounge chair after changing it a few times(blessing in disguise as we prefer out cosy Papa chair ) Check out eggthree which is above grafunkt at playfair road also k.
  16. Whoa thanks! Damm that's the same price as my tile paint.. Any idea what brand is it? Guess that I will need to repaint the chalkboard paint over it as you mentioned that it is a magnetic primer.
  17. Yeah, this coffee table is nice and got the look you mentioned. Nice to have ikea producing pieces like this
  18. Nah no problem, not clogging it up la Are ya looking for rectangle dining table? You could try comfort design which carry majority chairs. Can customise the tables if ya are keen.
  19. wah so fast! Send my regards to John, I was there last night scouting for other stuffs lol
  20. Hi esibuyer, You can try http://www.streetdeal.sg/ or some other similar websites. Try to get those with an external cam.
  21. lol, hope by this weekend should be pretty free =)
  22. Hi hi, correct me I'm wrong, this is a hinge use mainly for room doors. I'm not sure if the cut out hole in the door where the hinge sits in is universal but most of them are likely to fit. Ratio of soft closing to hinge may depends. on how big and heavy the door is, 1:2, 1:3, 2:3. Ikea has adjustable soft closing which also have softclosing system which works individually without having to change your hinge. Blum blue motion hinge for door are comparable to others which also have about 3 type of angles. The other type of advance system are expensive and you can purchase directly from them @ Ubi near the driving centre.
  23. Then they make the shelf for what? Washing machine and dryer on top like yours right? Sorry, how ya know they not getting dryer?
