  1. Mace/Apple, see the red structure on the left? Probably thats why only the bonnet and near bonnet parts genna very jialat, the red structure held the bottom part of the front structure pretty strongly. could even stop the broken wheel as seen in the pic ..hehe vehicle structural analysis is fun, should have spent time studying that
  2. apple posted...but got yandao salesperson demo-ing... that's why removed...scared this month got housewives queueing up outside his unit requesting for demo sessions
  3. now i know the stuff on the brochures are not bull****. Frontal Collisions: The high-rigidity body utilises crushable zones to efficiently absorb crash energy in a collision. no wonder front crush until like dat bottomline: dun speed too much and push too hard. then we no need to prove how safe the car is !! gutfeel: the car was going >100km/hr along the bend, probably even >120km/hr that's it, i think we should not buy powerful rides for our children next time. Better not to buy at all, wait till they are older and get them to buy with their own money. Maybe even dun lend them the cars. Tell them "papa give u money take cab safer. It's for your own good." !! Then they will treasure it and not LOOOOOT the car when they finally buy their own car with their own $$. Imagine a 18 year old who just got his license driving papa's GTR, trying to impress friends like this young driver, early 20s, 200plus hp cannot handle liao, wanna try 400plus hp? POWER IS NOTHING WITHOUT CONTROL
  4. see the damage to the car think the crumple zones did their part. What happened probably was, they were pressing hard around the right bend (their direction), pushed too hard, the car oversteered to the right, hit the center kerb. Lost control, over-correct/lose control, and the car headed towards the left now, mount up the kerb.... hit the slope even (see the broken wheel !! )....probably even rolled on the roof one side and then finally landed back on the wheels. what an expensive rollercoaster ride !! I have one impt question though, are they sure no one died yup, nowadays either cars come really cheap or parents buying expensive toys for their children. i know of a few NS guys driving RX8s, wah liew...me uncle@30 then can drive... last time NS we take bus to camp, they drive nice cars
  5. look at the number plate, 死一死 tomorrow must go buy ah.... seriously, think the driver really went out with his friends to show off his ride above the limit. 1) SJA plate, his tyres may not have reach optimal grip levels yet with the mileage gained 2) RWD vehicles tend to oversteer and against a normal driver's natural reaction to regain control of the vehicle. for FWD vehicles, understeer happens and if you go out of line, ease up on the throttle (natural instinct), you can come back to the proper line easily. RWD are not so easy to react to if you are not used to/prepared for the oversteer suddenly
  6. wah liew, crash until like that only "abrasions and shoulder injuries" In a dramatic 'freak' accident, this car flipped over the railing and up the hillside before skidding to a stop, says STOMPer Nicholas Fanyeong. He was driving past Yishun Ave 1 when he saw this scene at about 1.45pm. This is opposite Seletar Reservoir. Nicholas told STOMP today (Feb 24): "I came across this freak accident along Yishun Avenue 1 near the seletar dam at about 1.45pm. "There were two ambulances, one police car, and one Rhino at the scene. The Rhino is usually used in a fire, but must have been there to extract the bodies out. "The car looked quite badly crushed. I came across this while driving on my way home." The Police provided details of this accident, to STOMP today: "We received a call today at about 1pm, about an accident involving a car tmg] hat had ran onto the pavement along Yishun Avenue 1 toward Seletar Club Road. "Four men in their early 20s were conveyed conscious to Changi General Hospital with abrasions and shoulder injuries. Investigations are on-going."
  7. Think from the range, seems like the japanese cars generally price their rides slightly above 50K. with the exception of the GLX which is why i feel it is a good buy. The koreans/chinese price below the 50K mental barrier. If they price their rides above 50K, people might sway to look at the Japanese counterparts instead.
  8. Here's a range under 50K Honda: no models - Fit 1.3G (about 54Kupwards) Toyota: no models - Vios (about 52K upwards) Mazda: no models - Mazda 2 (about 52K upwards) Mitsubishi: Lancer GLX (about 46K upwards) Nissan : no models - March (about 51K upwards) Chevrolet (Daewoo) - Aveo (48K upwards) - Spark (42K upwards) Hyundai - Getz (43K upwards) - Verna (48K upwards) Kia - Picanto (41K upwards) - Cerato (47K upwards) - Rio (45K upwards) Chery - QQ (33K upwards) - A168 (38K upwards) - A5 (45K upwards) that's about the range your budget allows at this range. Prices not conclusive, me not car salesman. just picked the prices off some sites.
  9. It is best to start off with the budget. From there, then u can work out what u can or cannot buy with that budget. Easier that way.

  21. a few nights ago saw a white Honda Stream *fast n furious-ing* along CTE cutting in and out of sparse traffic.. then yesterday night on the way home, got jio-ed by a WISH dun play play, been noticing alot of MPVs driving very fast, wonder issit they want themselves and their families to reach their FINAL DESTINATION early ah MPVs are built for families, not speedsters. hehe
  22. wah..that one not her lah.. so masculine the lines, is a HE lah.... but then such a big car in black, really headache to maintain the shine and gloss without the dust/rain etch marks staining the paintwork.... AutoBacs no sell Billion? there another expensive place..hehe from another forum, for those who think theVolvo XC90 is too huge and cumbersome, the little brother is here Volvo’s new X3 competitor will make its public production debut at the 2008 Geneva Motor Show. The new 2009 model year Volvo XC60 is what Volvo claims the most stunning Volvo ever, as well as the safest. “This car is charged with more emotive form and more energy than any other Volvo. We’re elevating our design DNA to an entirely new level by literally turning up the visual volume. If you say that you’d recognise a Volvo from 300 feet away today, I dare say the XC60 radiates a clear Volvo presence from at least twice that distance,” says Steve Mattin, Volvo Cars Design Director. If you look at it, it looks like Volvo has taken their usual design cues that are present in all of their cars right now, from the C30 up to the XC90 and applied Ford’s Kinetic design to it, making it look alot more sleek but essentially an evolution rather than a revolution. I think it works rather well and I like where Volvo is going with their styling. Volvo interiors are also one of the best places to be in, they really do know how to give car interiors an upmarket feel. There is a photo of the interior after the jump. Some of the safety features that will come standard on the XC60 includes City Safety, which applies brakes if the car is about to drive into the vehicle in front and the driver does not appear to be able to react in time. Maybe you’re in a traffic jam or something and you’re dreaming away, or somehow distracted, there’s a chance that you’ll just ram into the car in front of you if you do not realise it has stopped. Initially the Volvo XC60 will come with a single engine option - the 3.0 liter T6 engine with 281 horsepower and 400Nm of torque from as low as 1,500rpm. All-wheel drive is standard on the XC60.
  23. really small and puny, no joke. STIs/EVOs all 280horse and up, 5 seconds nia.... my dream GTR is around 473hp and 3.5s but suck petrol equally fast too (3.8litre twin-turbo) my car is slower than its looks, that's the disappointing part BUY BUY BUY
  24. bo lui, my car smaller than FITs, Swift Sports, Civics, Vios, 1.3 litres nia but roadtax cheapcheap 700plus a year
  25. Ok lah.. GROUP PURCHASE OF 2008 FIT comes with RENOTALK DECALS +20hp
