  1. me no $$ to buy good ones now. can only afford those u have mentioned on the end part of the message
  2. can meh? no bottom track the door wil be stable meh? confirmed can ah?
  3. yes i have, in my blog... this week very very busy with work, no time update reno-updates for this week. aircon piping installation is currently ongoing today, guess will have more pics to load this weekend. monday can share with u all le. sorrie jessi... stay tune, will send u my blog address on monday. for me, i have concern about having door tracks on the kitchen entrance floor. tendancy of tripping over is higher, worse if any of us holding hot dishes or utensils... me very clumsy wan, predict i wil trip then i have to opt out bi-fold door. plus opening and closing door oso slighly more inconvenient. me lazy lah...
  4. but are u aware that there wil be door tracking on the circumference of the kitchen entrance including the doorway if u using bi-fold door?
  5. talking abt that, i might have tat problem? dunno how much 'frosted' parts i have on the door.... hmmmh, can stick wat on the door ah...tat ppl will npe there is a glass door?
  6. jessi, ur flat is almost done... left the final stage of carpentry huh? our MBR toilet shower is indeed cramp... my FH will definitely feel cramp showering there... isit stupid h*b flat designer's stupid idea again?? argh..
  7. wah, movie topic liao... talking abt it, i oso din watch movie for long time!! common syndrome once ppl gotten flat?? haa.. u guys were talking abt floor laminates earlier... the last time i was so dillema to choose between laminates and tiles... decided the latter bcos it seems to be less problematic... 2 main reasons that stopped me from getting laminates are Warping and Insects. have been busy at work... only got time to read, no time to post... just some updates abt my reno progress. received info from tiler worker that there is One mild hollowness at the edge of the tile at 1 of our bedroom, askin us to go back to see the condition, if we wanna re-do tat part. oso told us the cons in advance, that there is potential risk that ther will be unbalance if cut that tile out and re-tile. i feel its thumbs up for him to do that pro-actively as he as a worker can jus go along with the problem, not telling us and wait til we found out and complain...Tiling work willn be completed by tomorrow i believe.
  8. Can can... its in my blog already. Some of the Ikea ideas are very useful but alot of them quality is soso only. Guess that the quality for the economy prices u paid. okok, will share my blog with u when done. really no bluff... when its time to purchase stuffs for ur house, really its pay pay pay every week. i dare not calculate the total sum!! its good to keep a file to keep the important documents... easier to locate and keep track.
  9. jessi, we are like u & lurgee... everyweek spent thousands for stuffs purchases... xiong sia... lights lah, toilet accessories lah, all easily hit $1K anytime... hi koikoi, my blog is done up soon... will share once ready. yes yes... lights aren't cheap. so much to consider; brightness, appearance, price... getting tired, lazy to go balestier to 'hunt' liao.
  10. jessi, i have seen those lights @ chelsea when im there... they got several lights suitable for zen theme. i bot all my lights from them as well. they dun mind us taking pictures of the lights too. kekez.
  11. koikoi, be careful of wet cement... dun leave it there too long, wait dunno will gets to ur neighbour below onot. im the coordinator thru out the reno and defects rectification. only happened to be FH no need to go back office today, so he is there to oversee the tiling. h*b oso going to do toilet doors for me. lucky he is there, able to rectify ad hoc issues immediately. i have been going back to house very often. dun trust the h*b workers single bit... like just now, they almost wanting to use another kind of tiles (not identical to the current one suppose to be) to do the part that they have spoilt. lucky FH was there. but im happy with my IDs workers so far... the tiler is very tactful... he compare the color tones & pattern of tiles, ensure the tiles have same 'pattern' then start tiling. and whole pc full of cement. or maybe they work extra-good bcos FH is there supervising them behind their backs?? haha, dunno...
  12. don't scare me leh, koikoi. i doubt it the bill will be very very high bah?? my tiling work started this morning. FH din see them use excessive quantity of water.
  13. *shy i noe im slow... habitual already. it always takes me 20min in the bathroom. thats y no bathtub no rain shower, no save water no save the earth... use instant heater to save $$. kekez... jessi, koikoi... ya my hotpoint installation is cheap. actually quite worth to do storage heater with 4 hotpoints from my ID... yet, end up nah... not doing. storage heater can only have 1 switch... it will be inconvenient if next time got other occupant.
  14. koikoi, let ID do hotpoint for u lah... dun let h*b do it. its not especially cheap neither its especially good workmanship.. why risk?
  15. it cost $50 for 1 hotpoint for mine, but somehow im thinking if already spent so much doing up piping, storage heater, rain shower for toilets le, why not add $50 for hotpoint at the basin? for long run, $50 is justifiable bah? only for MBR toilet. my turn to do aircon piping installation next week! dunno how will it done. tiling will start tomorrow.
  16. mine is 20min! but still cant justify the $$. hahaa... im looking at water & electricity bill in the long run. too giam liao.
  17. i had wanted to go for bathtub, then gave up the idea eventually... then wanted rain shower with storage heater, then gave it up again. finally, doing nothing special, jus instant heater with big shower head.
  18. have a look at this: http://www.franke.com.sg/product_package.html sink came in few sizes. our area is bit squeezy for 2 big sinks. can lah, if u wanto but it will 'eat in' deeper to the wall side... there are choices of 1big 1medium or 1big 1small.... so called 1 and 1/2 bowl or 1 and 3/4 bowl.
  19. ICI paint in Jotun container??? Please verify with ur ID!
  20. koikoi, i gotten my toilet wash basin from asia excel marketing @ imm. a rectagularish white basin with square tap and stopper for $215. what kind of sink u looking for? u mean kitchen sink?
  21. koikoi, im just sharing what i noe only. have u chose ur floor tiles? jessi, when do u need to install those toilets acessories? towards the end of the reno?
  22. koikoi, veneer laminates is more expensive than normal laminates but CHEMICAL veneer is not. as for ur 'overhacked' wall, u can ask few more tiles to standby just in case u need to replace them in future. or ur ID can do u the favour to change that few pcs. for ur HHS, its ok to take glossy laminates as chances of touching that area is not as regular. latte, hard time dealing with the h*b contractors right?? esp those new sub-con... their plumber messed up a simple task last week. there is always cheaper method to conceal the HHS wall. ours is a super long one sia... 10ft long right?? mine will be a feature wall there with a shallow display glass shelf, linking to shoe cabinet then the sette. it looks good but of cos its expensive too. y cant our HHS face the kitchen!?? stupid h*b designer... jessi, it will be my turn to go lightings search in the next 2 weeks! ur BR3 will be facing the kitchen entrance then... hmmmh, i oso doubt its allowed for FS.
  23. Hi latte, i also heard noise coming from ur unit! saw from my service balcony into ur MBR and saw ppl doing cement screeding. I went back to jaga ppl install toilet bowl for me. Was not done smoothly, end up we have to go out buy the spoilt spare part, rush back and make them install back the part... (waste time waste effort). Electrical works are 60% done, should need another day then can proceed to ceiling work le. H*B do things dun call in advance wan lah... i oso have hard time dealing with them sia.... the door issue oso haven't rectified. ID's tiler spotted the hollow at the balcony, managed to get approval from T.O to rectified for me, but will be done by the new sub-con... the new sub-con got attitude wan... just learn to appreciate ah soon, his workers' attitude r better thou still inefficient lah. !! latte, u better ask for a date at least 2 weeks from now... only dong gong when the defects are rectified, or a day u wan ID to dong gong start reno. for my case, i told ID to accomodate to my timing/date... start work on friday, hacking can only start strictly after 11am.
  24. jessi, no need to. just call the T.O will do... Techical Officer Jurong West, incharging of our blocks... im an half-expert liasing with h*b now... (i rather not be)
  25. the way i see the floor it looks ok too. since the tiler worker said its hollow, i dare not doubt his specialization knowledge... maybe he got knock knock and know it by hearing?? dunno lah, anyway i called h*b contractor... and expect another round of nightmare which i have to chase them to do... they still have to get approval from T.O mah. sianz. i managed to keep some 'decorative purpose' items... but not all lah. my renovation experience should be very pleasant if i can take away h*b contractors/T.O presence... gets on my nerves.
