  1. Meiling market is a great makan place, got a nice chicken rice stall. It is one of the very few places in Singapore still selling food at low price. Chai tow kway below $2. Where to find??
  2. I am still contemplating to wall mount or not, but my ID got my tv feature designed without a table top, he mentioned that he will be creating storage behind the tv, so to access to stuff stored behind tv, juz slide part of the feature wall together with the tv up. As mentioned in my earlier post, I did not opt for any 3d drawings, juz to cut cost. The idea my ID has now is quite different from our initial plans. After site visit, we decided to have all equipment, eg set top boxes, modems, av receiver stacked at a side of the feature wall. Seems like I would have to wall mount..... I am leaving everything for him to decide and design. Like dat then have element of surprise......hopefully on the bright side hahaha
  3. Hi thanks, hopefully can move in in time too. Schedule is to complete flooring by this week, next week toilets and carpentry together.
  4. Quality of work so far so good, the tiling man took one week to overlay my common toilet tiles, saw him slowly cleaning, inspecting every single tile before he lay them on. Slowly cutting the tiles to fit around the pipes. Actually lucky or unlucky me(if u r the superstitious type), due to 7th month, I have more manpower from contractors,
  5. Hi Drexter, Here u go http://www.genova.com.sg/?p=productsList&iCategory=64&sName=W.C For pics reference only, there are other places selling the same products at better prices
  6. Wow Koreans arecreally catching up in technologies in all fields, electronics, cars, etc, etc.... Guess they will overtake their Japanese competitors in no time. Heard from a friend from states," if u wanna buy a tv, get a Samsung" a common comment from Americans now
  7. Hi, thanks. Reno got to move fast, no time to lose, I have to vacate my current place by end of this month, so got to shift in from last week of this month
  8. Love the thin bezel. Was considering the D8000, but realize that the only difference is the refresh rate. Not worth to pay the extra $. Love the base that comes with the tv, but I might be doing a wall mount instead. Just confirmed that my tv comes with the standard wall mount, not the Samsung slim wall mount they have on the selling floor.
  9. Glad to hear you getting used to the new vicinity so fast and well, my turn next year to catch the fireworks from home, me nearer to fireworks, but you are nearer to the helicopters.....you living higher floor mah heehee
  10. Hi, Below reply is just my personal opinion. At $3.9K, the fridge you are buying is not considered cheap in my context. Amount of money spent aside, as long as the fridge that you are buying is not a display unit, you have all right to ask for an exchange. However, if we see things from retailer's perspective, an exchange will only be allowed if the fault is discovered during delivery. It is a similar situation as compared to buying a new car. Any scratches or dentsvon the car have to be reported during your collection at the showroom or new car collection centre. Once you drive the car out, any paint defects or dents found, dealers have the right not to give any compensation. From your description, I presume delivery of your fridge has taken place. Did you put any remarks on both copies of the DO? If you did, please go all out for a replacement, if you didn't , no harm trying to call the retailer now, try your luck. You never know.
  11. Wow! Great find. THIS REALLY Contemporary My limited creative brain has never thought itbcan be this nice

  14. Hi AshRinz and Daiwa, KEC is at a delphi, building opposite funan, the shop is located at top floor. The staff there are very patient people. I went to the shop without knowing what models I need or what package is available. I only know my budget and what I want the system to play, more to movies and gaming, not so much on music. After understanding your needs and requirements and budget the guys will recommend what is best for you. Please bring along your floor plan and 3d drawings of tv console if possible, it makes things alot easier for them to give u the right stuff. With a budget of 2-3k, you have plenty of choices, hope the link below helps http://www.hifibargain.com/promo.html
  15. Haha I am no businessman lah If price or package is attractive enough comparing to what is offered from now till PC show, u might want to just place a normal order, eg, current LG 42LW5700 is going for $1349 if I did not remember wrongly. Package comes with wifi dongle, 4 pairs of glasses, magic motion remote ctrl (dun really know how different is this remote, yet to find out). If during the PC show, they can give the same bundle together with a 3d blu ray player which cost about $200+ to $300, panasonic or Philip or Samsung, lagi best. If price further lowered, then wIt no more. Just bear in mind you need to have a 3d blu ray player to play 3d blu ray disc. Despite the function built in to convert 2d to 3d, the effect won't be as great in depth.
  16. If ur viewing distance is 2m or more, plus u dun mind that the image is not full Jewish in 3d mode, I guess the LG will be a fantastic buy. As for aiming for the PC show, if u can try to find out which retail shop is in the PC show, try pestering the shop before the show, the other alternative of cos is tone there early first day. It will be good if u know any staff who is going to be promoting the tv at the show, ask this person to pull string first. Networking is one of the root of success when it comes to business negotiation
  17. Hi DKWM, Have u bought ur tv? I have changed my order with Best from panny to Samsung LED Smart TV 7 series. Price is good now, they offer direct $500 rebate. Flash rate 600hz. Anyway, I was also looking at LG. Lower cost on glasses and tv as well. Not bad a tv. However 2 things I realize when I was testing the tv, resolution n viewing distance. In 2d, the tv is full hd, in 3d, it is not. If u stand about 1metre or nearer from the screen when it is in 3d, u will be able ton see horizontal black lines on the images. Tested with the 3d glasses, the black lens disappear. However 3d images not as sharp as full hd 3d. The other thing is viewing distance. Since u mentioned earlier that your living room is considered small, please check your viewing distance before you purchase the tv. In a distance of 2m or less, crosstalk or whatbwe call double images is visible with the glasses on. Above is just my findings during my trials at best denki. I have nothing against LG, in fact if the 42" is priced under 1k, I would have gotten it for my bedroom.
  18. Hi Neighbour, Glad to see that everything is intact now. Just updated my thread, it is now my turn to go through what you have gone through. How's life living in the clouds?

  23. A very eventful and tight scheduled Thursday, 04 Aug. Tiler will be in, Gain CIty installing Air Con, Wiring man trying to complete his work, OPennet to install the cables. All these in a day....PHEW.. Air Con Installed by Gain City. Despite many negative feedbacks I read RT, I had a smooth and punctual installation. My ID was late, the gain city staff waited for him to arrive patiently, then discussed with us the location for the fan coils, the trunking, how it will be condusive for servicing. Opennet, previous owner missed the free installation, now I have to pay .......originally can only install earliest end of the month, somehow, I manage to have it installed on Thursday. 25. Hi EL, My order number Sales Order No is 20291, Alteration Form AO no. 30324. Model : Mark IV 9320, 3 seater Full leather sofa with manual recliner on both sides, Colour selected is Light Grey 2922. 2 throw pillows 16" x 16" colour selected Sand 2082. Delivery booked on the 20th August 2011. Please assist to ensure a puctual delivery with the correct product fabricated as agreed on the order form and AO. Thank you. P.S. Dear RT readers, Please do not misinterpret my very detail request above as an unhappy customer. It took me a long time before I finally found a low back reclining sofa with good back support at EL after browsing through almost all the available sofa makers locally. To date, I am very impressed with the service level produced by EL staff. A couple of weeks ago I called EL to make an appointment for my leather colour selection. I had a shock when I learned that the senior sales staff who served me when I made my purchase at EXPO is no longer with EL. Worried about my order and deposit paid for my sofa. Alvinna, a very nice lady, who took my call was very assuring, made an appointment with me reassuring me that everything is in good hands. During the colour selection, I met Alvinna, a fast talking lady. She took time to patiently explain to me the different grade of leather they carry and the type suitable for my usage even though my sales order was not taken in by her. That is what I call sales service. Now it is left with the last stage, timely delivery with the correct ordered product. My order isn't exactly what EL displays at their showroom or Expo. They are promoting heavily on the elecronic recliner. I persistently opted for a mechanical version due to my living room layout. If EL makes it through this last stage smoothly, I am sure to recommend them to my kakis currently scouting their stuff for their new house. Keep it up EL
