Thank you everyone for your nice comments and suggestion for my humble home. I'm glad that our self designed (without hiring an ID)home can receive such positive feedbacks. we are still trying our best to match in the furniture and accessories to turn the house to a warm and comfy home. March will be a busy month for us, lotsa cleaning to do, hubby changing job, I'm going away for biz trip for more than 1 week and hubby grandmother passed away and will be busy with funeral for this couple of days +_+" so tired... Forummers who are interested in my contractor's contact, I had already sent PM to all of you. In case I missed out any, pls pardon me and kindly remind me again. And just FYI, my contractor will be going away for holiday from 10th March to 17th March so pls avoid calling him during this period cos he informed he cannot pick up to save on phone bills... Good luck to all for ur reno !!

Hi I bought my Haiku from Universal Union through my contractor's contact and I bought it at $650

Hi Deblythe Welcome to Tblog my next road neighbor My cement dining bench is quoted together with my cement TV console with a total of around 17ft long, it was around $1600 as for the cement walls... in total i cement screeded 2 big walls and 3 small walls. He quoted me $850. Is it ex? how much was you quoted? as for the mosaic it depends on which one you are referring to, the honeycomb I got it from Hup Kiong, which is just beside hafary. Others its was all sourced by my contractor which based on my understanding is from Defu. Thanks for liking my place ^^

Hi Abahq Thanks for dropping by and already replied ur PM

Ya timber blind is more ex, probably becos they r using wood or PVC. But I feel maybe becos they can only earn ur money once for one window so they try to earn more hahaha.. Cos u do not need to make extra set to change for washing etc. Cleaning I think is not so tough, just wipe or vacuum. No need to remove each panel. For me I choose timber blind becos of the look and no need to wash so many curtains or make extra curtains. Me plain lazy la.. Cos my windows at least 3 quarter height so the thought of washing 4 sets of big curtains really put me off..

Hi^^ Sorry to reply on behalf, but we definitely can hack just half the wall cos I did it that way. Mine is premium bto which already come with flooring so hacking half wall only allows me to save on making good for floor. You can see my Tblog for the hack pictures to show ur contractor. Cheers !! Sorry again for hijacking this post

Haha my contractor consider this as cement screed but he used easy plaster dunno mixing with what others instead of normal cement. Frankly speaking I really didn't know the different in the first place but the effect of this easy plaster type of cement is very different from those cement screed which pple do on the floor before their tiling. He say easy plaster is better and more ex.. I never question much cos i like the color. And my contractor purposely screed it the rough way cos he like it that way so I just let him do it his style Initially I wanted to put up craftstone brick but my contractor say too common and convinced me to do this rough cement screed wall instead. So far I like it very much though I still love brick wall alot.. Maybe next house ba.. Thanks for liking

I wanted cement screed wall but I also fear the dark and dirty look so my contractor suggested this type of cement which is lighter grey hue and not so dirty look. But maybe over time will crack ba think it's inevitable but I can take it so long it does not crack into a hole. Usually it's just hairline crack. So can share what u will be doing to get the industrial feel? Ur whole house no grey ah? Then can use black?
-
Hi chergaby ^^ actually he recommended me easy plaster one he said is better and I like the color better also compared to the usual cement wall which usually looks more "dirty" I told him I wanted the light grey look so he choose this for me and I actually never question him much on this portion. Frankly speaking I didn't research much on the type of cement to use for cement screed either, so I really dun dare to advice. But one thing u might need to study/ research on is the protection coat/ sealer for the cement screed. I'm having problem for my TV console which is also easy plaster cement and in smooth finish and when they tried to seal it with the protection coat the cement screed got the "burnt" look even after drying up. But for my wall which is in rough finish is much better after drying up. So in the end my tv console I opt to go without the protection =.=" But I also recalled the place I got the inspiration from for this tv console they also did it without protection coat. heard u planning to cement screed ur kitchen wall? Do u wan to check with another TS think teachaview or something. I liked his kitchen wall too...

Hi IPineapple ^^ the haiku fan comes in 2 standard drop height 25cm or 40cm non adjustable. If is normal hdb usually will get the 25cm type which is like mine. Mine was mount directly onto ceiling instead of false ceiling. For my case I felt the height is ok, it is almost same drop height as my Lbox. I try to take some photos tomorrow to share.

Yup.. If doing whole house curtain I feel can definitely check out MGL as they have quite a wide variety of material to choose from thus is highly possible to find reasonable price material with suitable designs too. But if look for timber blind then I won't recommend MGL All the new estate now have big windows. Meaning full height in living and mbr and 3quarter height in common rooms which usually older estate is half height. Probably this also impact more for those doing timber blind or roller blind which is counting by square meter rather than just meter
-
I checked out MGL too after seeing recommendation from strikingreality but I realised their timber blind are ex at $11/sqm while majority is $10/sqm Cos I doing 2 room timber blind, 1 roller and living room day and night curtain. My quote turn out 2k+. one of the highest quote I got. Think if doing curtain the price alot depends on the material you choose and how big is the window. New estate all got big windows so it's really not cheap.

Hi^^ Actually I quite like the bi fold toilet door. Initially wanted to do one for my new place. Congrats on ur new place and good luck to ur coming Reno !!
-
Some text updates: the reno is at the last phase where the last few coat of paint was painted yesterday and today mirror is here for installation but contractor informed that the mirror for the MBR toilet broke during installation so no photos to share and need to wait till Fri for the new mirror to come. Handover is this fri after mirror installation, I will share pictures without furniture soon. Curtain is also coming on fri to take measurements. Updates will be slower since reno is completed and now pending for furniture and decor items to slowly find their spot. Planning to visit KODA (Again) this fri to try to search for the right coffee table, bedside table and dining chairs.. these items are still yet to purchase.

No prob it's just so near of cos I need to "dropby" to say Hi^^ haha.. Maybe u can really invite me over when ur place is ready. Yeah I agree on the importance of a happy wifey.. As I'm more into the industrial theme than hubby and he let me have my way too ~ so I salute u too !! Nah... Arcadia had it's many flaws too !! Guess it's always the case where what u do not have always seems better. Many Arcadia also liked the unit/layout of sapphire etc. For me I like the internal layout of jadespring so easy for placing furniture except that I have the planterbed which I'm glad. Do dropby my place to say Hi^^ too haha.. And more pics from u plssss Good luck and see u around ~
