i really hope the contractor can finish everything by tis week... mi initially also wanted showflats to save reno cost... but the chinois showflat very expensive.. $365k++ if i nv remember wrongly. tink the other showflat was abt $335k++, i also quite like tis showflat. but my hubby tink the workmanship nt good, so we gave up the idea. anyway, showflats are always the first to go.. our queue no. 185, confirm no hope one.

Hobbes11, 302D is the block where the showflat was? Applefreak, i juz called the TO to ask why the whole of last week nothing was done. now left oni the sanitary ware and bolt holes to be done. TO suggested that my reno be completed b4 all these were done so that the new sanitary ware will be brand new and not used by my ID's workers. i dun accept tis type of reasons lor. told TO dat i'm going to start re-paying my reno loan tis mth (actually is next mth) but i'm paying for nothing coz reno can't start bcoz of the defects rectification nt completed. told her i wan everything done by tis week since it's all minor things oni, so TO said will rush her contractor to finish everything by tis week.

hobbes11, u muz keep on calling the TO. i call until she already know who i am and which unit liao my TO is ms ng, her direct line 63890314. nt sure if ur TO is the same. which part of SK is ur unit. HDB do cement screeding is FOC for standard flat (premium flat dun haf leh ), if u ask ur contractor do need to pay $$

hobbes11, mi also submitted my defects list b4 CNY... till now oni the major defects has been rectified but i consider oni abt 50% done. fm my last visit on mon till yesterday morning, there wasn't anything else done liao. need to call SK branh office to nag the TO again. i hope my defects will be done by next week... coz oni left those minor minor defects to be done. if we dun keep on calling the TO, tink she'll slowly slowly get our defects done. we where got so much time to wait. my reno loan gonna start at end apr liao leh, i dun wan to start re-paying loan when the reno has nt started. u working at tg pagar? mi juz bought Xbox 360, can play games and compliment my pioneer HTS.

dats a cute clock u got there... but tink my hubby will ban the cute things fm our MBR. but i got a nice princess heart-shape mat fm my sis leh, i die die will put it outside my MBR toilet !! i prefer the first and second layout. but like wat ivory said, how come got dryer beside the stove? i tot dryer should be in the service yard. or dat is a dishwasher? my kitchen layout is almost the same as the first layout. but my stove is not so near the tall cabinet.

i also dunno wat they did inside the unit, u need to ask the TO leh. dats wat i did b4 i collected my keys, the TO said they replaced floor tiles for mi (dun include kitchen, service yard and 2 toilets). my unit also repainted. but the contractor funny lor, nv remove the barricades dat was used during WIS'05 in my HHS, even got an old shirt n some tiles. i actually wanted to keep the tiles, but by the time i wan to go n take, they already removed everything fm the HHS. ur kitchen, service yard and two toilet tiles are the same as mine. how come u said the kitchen tiles looked new leh. see from ur picture, half of the kitchen floor tiles grouting is whitish (dunno izit coz of the sunlight) and the other half looked dirty. maybe they changed oni part of the kitchen floor tiles. does the wall tiles has any cracks? i've got a wall tile with a big crack under the service yard lourved window, and the HDB contractor oni used white cement to seal the crack, not replace it is one tile so expensive until they can't replace?? i spent a bomb oni my unit leh. still got two cracked wall tiles outside the common toilet but i haven check if they also used the same method. for cracked wall tiles in the common toilet, they did replaced it with new ones. muz be they dun have the kitchen wall tiles liao but dun wan to hack and change for mi FOC, so ask contractor to seal cracks with white cement.

oh, the TO on course? no wonder today i called many times no answer... wan to ask her wan can complete rectification so i can get back my keys in order to start reno asap. yes, the forumer stays above u. tink she paid the contractor to hack the study room wall for her. i'm asking my ID to hack my study room wall also.. gonna put up glass instead and i want to study entrance to be at the left side instead of center. my whole unit tiles (except kitchen, service yard and 2 toilets) has been changed FOC b4 i collected my keys. in fact, it was changed when the Nov WIS started.. but i ask the TO to help get their contractor hack my kitchen and service yard FOC since she can't change those tiles, i'll pay my ID to supply and lay new tiles, cost mi $1600...

there is a fellow forumer Compassvale who bought a unit in ur blk. tink she topped up $1+ per sq feet for homo tiles in shiny surface. i was supposed to call the tiles contractor to buy tiles, up till today i still nv call. http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=5012

hmmm, sure can somehow find a reason. after u make noise, they sure will change the tiles for u.. but oni to the same white ceramic tiles as mine. unless u are willing to pay extra to their contractor. i also nearly slip and fall while washing the balcony 3 weeks back. i'm changing my kitchen n service yards tiles to those matt surface one, can't stand the grey wall tiles against beige floor tiles.

applefreak, after seeing the photo of ur living room, i confirm ur tiles are the old ones. u go n find more hollow tiles and ask SK branch office to change to the white ones or u pay more to their contractor for change better tiles. wished mine was the old tiles coz i would rather top up n change to homogeneous tiles. u will know the difference after u compare the colour with mine liao.

mercsboy, i'll installing windows at my balcony but the glass is clear type. nt scare of the rain but the sun confirm will fade the colour of the black string rite. they include the chain rite... u got ur chain fm hardware shop? hmm, like dat should buy ikea swinging chair or the lifestorey swinging chair... trying to find those rattan type like in the old days one but dunno where to buy. applefreak, now i'm having 2nd tots abt the lifestorey swinging chair after wat mercsboy had said. tat time when i submitted my defects (more than 1mth ago), i had to sit more than 1/2hr in front of the lady doing nothing. juz wait for her to type in one by one. ur unit really seem to be in a worst state than mine leh... my walls dun holes leh, oni found the wall behind the main door chipped off and it's still not rectified yet. my HHS also ok leh, but the ventilation sleeve beri rusty and has a insect nest made fm soil stuck there. eeks. will tell my ID to remove for mi. if the branch office nt going to do anything to my WCs and vanity top i also dun care liao coz we are changing it. now oni left minor defects to be done. tml will call branch office again to push them to finish the rectification latest by next week. i can't possibly keep on delaying my reno start date coz of them. already going to start paying my reno loan fm end apr liao.

today i called the HDB officer again, she still can't confirm with mi if the defects can be done by this week. on the other hand, my ID keeps on asking mi to push HDB officer to complete the defects by tis week so i can start reno asap. i'm stuck in between! yeah, the swing chair is really worth it!! can't wait to get it.

hd a busy day today... started off with a visit to our nest at 11.30am. glad to see the kitchen and service yard floor has been hacked. some major defects also done... looking at it, tink all the defects should be rectified in another week's time. after dat still went bridal shop for appointment. evening time went swimming. tink i half dead liao. eh, i didn't even bother to knock the tiles since it was new. tried to do so in my MBR but gave up after knocking oni 1/2 the room. !! glad to hear dat u haf at least settled on the book shelf. oh, u still wan the L shape kitchen? my ID ar... so far so good lor. i oni knew odie engaged ***** after i came to tis forum. our ID office is at Kaki Bukit Rd 1, Blk 7 Eunos Technolink. tml i'll be meeting my ID again coz i wan to re-choose the colours for my carpentry. btw, i'm nt getting my swing chair fm Ikea liao. will get the swing chair from the LifeShop at Raffles City. oni $149 and includes the chain for hanging n cushion. the price is oni $40++ more than the ikea one. it's the same chair that fellow forumer elmoboy has gotten.

yes, the toilet is on the same wall as the door. opp tis wall will be the window. so u'll be left wif 2 walls to put the bed. i box up the side where the air-con ledge is to put my bed. pink tiles? dats supposed to be the old tiles leh.. maybe different blk different colour tiles... but cannot be ba... my opp. door neighbour has the old pink tiles. can take photo of ur tile n show mi?

i'm paying $450 for my SY windows, got 4 panes. balcony windows cost $650, nt sure how many panes.

the bed can't put in the middle of the room leh. according to fengshui, the bed muz be against the wall. can't put under beam or window. the wall of the MBR entrance will be for my wardrobe, toilet n window wall nothing... than the wall opp the wardrobe will be box up so we wun be sleeping under the beam. tink the same goes for sofa n study table, can't be under the beam. my aircon ledge also got alot of things. comb, cigg butts, towel, plastic bag and even underwear!! my mum used a stick to push the underwear downstairs. door knobs turned green. seem like urs is in a much worse situation than my unit. is ur floor tiles the old pink ones or the new white tiles with tink of pinkish? i'm going down to my unit on sat too. muz see how much defects they have completed against my defect list. i tink muz always call SK branch office to push them on the defects, else they do things beri slow.

odie, i've juz realised dat ur MBR toilet tiles n mine are exactly the same. even the common toilet colour scheme look the same. kitchen wall tiles also the same leh, but i'm going to over-lay mine since i'm changing the floor tiles too.

my window frames were quite ok except for the paint that were stained on them when the unit was repainted last nov. yes, the defects list should be quite long. like i said earlier, the kitchen is nt as big as u seen on the floorplan. in fact abt 1ft shorter in actual length. do take the measurement between the washing machine tap n service yard window before u built the kerb. how come u are putting two wardrobes in the MBR. we oni built an 8ft wardrobe and the bed is opp. the wardrobe. do u feel the MBR is actually the smallest among the 3 BRs? i had to box up the beam so that i could put my bed. for mi, the lights n toilet accessories has almost squeezed us out liao but i'll by hook or crook squeeze some $$ for the ikea swinging chair. i want everything to be do by the end of reno except the bulk furniture like sofa, dining table n bed. i've went to my unit last evening hoping to remove the leftover floor tiles b4 the HDB contractors came over to do the retification. alas, they were faster than mi.. removed the leftover floor tiles fm my household shelter already. my defects are in the midst of rectification and this is wat they did to rectify my defects... they're oni trying to fool HB n mi thru, nt solve the problem. do check carefully when they are going to handover the flat after rectification. - one cracked wall tile below the service yard window ---> contractor used white cement to seal the crack coz the colour is abt the same as the grey wall tiles!! - cracked n badly scratched wall tiles in common toilet ---> cracked wall tiles were changed but nt those scratched ones - cement stained balcony n MBR toilet sliding track ---> the cement was indeed scraped off but it also left both sliding tracks was badly scratched. - common toilet PVC door bottom part came off ---> contractor used glue to stick it back wat if it came off again, r they juz going to stick for mi every time until the 1yr warranty period is up?? - my MBR toilet door can still push a big gap open below although it's closed or locked, tis is nt supposed to be like tis for an aluminium bi-fold door. the door can't even by pulled to closed easily ---> nothing done but i've insisted to the officer that the door must be changed - the cover for my consumer unit was broken ---> was replaced with a cover which looked used and hard to open/close properly. with the cover even come off whenever we tried to close it. - main door badly scratched ---> contractor tried to even off the scratches n repainted the main door but i still can see the deep scratch.. looked like a scar lor HB n mi were very angry upon seeing these type of shoddy rectifications, i called the SK branch office to complaint this afternoon. we paid so much $$ for our unit n this is wat we get when we wan them to rectify our defects. nw i'm not confident if the branch office still can handover the flat to mi by this week so dat my reno can start next wed. tml still muz call they contractor to buy tiles.

i tink so other ID charge more.. i hope the electrician is licensed one... i actually wanted to get inverter but since oni 2 of us n seldom use the rest of the aircon, we decided on non-inverter instead. cheaper also. congrats on getting ur keys!

yes, the electrical points n switches for lights are all ready. all u do is to fix the light at the point unless u r shifting it. water n electric supply has already been turned on liao. i need to shift my balcony n dining room switch coz i'm hacking away the wall. will be shifting the socket at the kitchen entrance also coz need to put sliding door. still got to shift the sockets for the rooms, change to double sockets, etc. tink i still need to pay extra. so good got aircon n sofa as gifts. i got fridge n washing machine fm my MIL n mum. the fuji electric system3 aircon was given by ID when i signed my package with them. but i topped up $1300 to change it to toshiba non-inverter system 3 and an additional toshiba non-inverter system 1, all is 9000BTU. the system 3 is for 2 BRs and study whereas the system 1 is for my MBR.

do check out more b4 deciding on who to go with for the windows+grilles. i haf a full height cabinet which i intended to do as a pull-put larder initially. now i decided dat the cabinet door will be those dat open up normally i/o of pull out. reno spent too much liao, dun tink got enough $$ to buy the ikea pull out drawers which is gonna cost mi another $400++. i still gotta spend a few hundreds on blum system for my 8 drawers (4 is big heavy duty drawers). i guess spending $1500 for lights is consider reasonable considering the big discount i had... though my MIL also mentioned it's expensive. the light u've shown seem quite alrite, shd compliment well with ur table ba.. the lights i've bought does nt include installation. my ID will get his electrician to do it since he's charging mi $1200 for electrical work for the whole unit. tis does nt even include the shifting of power points n switches.
