Yah loh.. i prefer to do everything built in cos for such a small flat, its gonna be really difficult to buy furnitures which will fit nicely into the house. So thats the reason for the high price i pay. Even now i have difficulties finding a dining and coffee table which fits nicely. Got any lobangs or not to custom make at a good price?

Platform for my masterbedroom is also almost done. Sliding Doors for my built in wardrobe are being installed today. Over all mess. Table top for my studyroom was installed today. Now awaiting tophang cabinets and shelfs to be installed right above the table top. A sneak peak from the main entrance from outside my house. Simple love the partitions.

You mean Duro locks are recommended by the police?
-
Hehe... i have been staying in Chong Pang all my life. Only difference is that i moved from my parent's blk 109 to my new house blk 108. Hehehhe just one blk away nia. Can still see my parent's kitchen window from my kitchen window loh. Very familiar with this neighbourhood. Anyway i think i will try using two locks first then slowly monitor.
-
For me i'm staying near the market area in Chong Pang. Human traffic flow is very heavy, is this considered safe? Opposite me are shop houses and stores...
-
Hehe i thought so too, but you see ah.. The purpose of using this lock is for convinience, its more of a one handed operation. For example, you are carrying lots of groceries and want to get into the house quickly. This is where the lock comes into good use, you just need one hand to unlock the lock rather then put everything down and then use both hands to fiddle with the lock. Heheh After listening to gingerbelle's experiences, was abit disheartened over the lock. Cos Duro is a good brand and after learning that the lock can be easily removed, i'm beginning to worry bout the safety of my home. So whats your opinions guys? Anyone using this particular lock? Care to share your experiences?

Abit bo liao in the morning. Just bought a Duro lock as recommended by many friends recently. Paid S$138 for it, comes with a free spare lock worth 58 bucks. So heart pain leh... paid so much for a lock.

27th April 2007 Carpentry work has been carried out for my kitchen today. So far they only managed to wall mount the cabinets. Some parts of the cabinets have not been completely mounted yet. For kitchen cabinets, we adopted the floating design with lightings under the cabinet for a floating feel. Here are some pictures on the progress. Front view of the cabinet from living room My secondary preparation area. Holding area for microwave. More pictures will be taken as we move on with the progress. Lets see what will they cover tomorrow. Cheers!

How Many Downlights Did U Use?
weishun replied to bubblepearl's topic in Plumbing & Electrical Works
Personally it depends on how big is your flat. For my 3 room flat, i used 6 18W double tube downlights for my living room.. same goes for my masterroom. Very bright... more then enough... -
Hahah black walls leh.. too hardcore for me liao lol but would really like to see pictures of your house soon. Anyway some updates for you guys. Tomorrow they are going to complete the 2nd layer painting for my house followed by installation of carpentry works this following week. Sit tight guys!
-
Yup yup. Then see when you free or what.. maybe take 1-2 days leave and self paint the ceiling loh. Hehehe can be quite fun doing the paintings yourself you know.
-
Hehe since its just the ceiling, its always not too late to get it repainted to your desire colours. Dun regret.. just do it. Trust me.. it makes a whole lot of difference leh.
-
Yeah... i wanted my ceilings partially in a different colour to create a spacy visual effect. For painting of the ceiling, you have to push your ID one. For me i die die want it to be done, so ID kinda lan lan have to do.. lol. One thing, dun ever paint your entire ceiling. small parts can but leave majority of it white if not it will make your house look very restricted. For the colours i have to ask my ID for the colour code then get back to you leh bro. This is what most IDs will say to save themselve from extra work. In my own opinions, if its something we wan, our IDs should accomodate us rather then his own thoughts.
