I have not been visiting my new place. Here are some update from my contractor. Lights are currently installing and after will be the painting of the whole house. Made a Mistake when ordering for dinning area. Should have gotten a bigger size. This size is just right for the dresser area.

What if you do ceiling mount instead of wall mounted

The bedroom and kitchen bone structure is up, so are the flooring for the bedrooms. I think the contrast of white cabinets and flooring will blend in nicely.

Hiccups are unavoidable. Best is to stay cool and not kan chiong because of CNY approaching and make wrong decision.

Lux. So I assume your unit is now without a main door since they have to take down everything to do concrete patching. Agree that the installer have no pride in his work, if he can think differently, you may not have to change a new frame.

Actually,the mattress is for my daughter. Maybe you can try Simmons. I can vouch that it is really comfortable. I'm currently using at my place.

Carpentry and flooring have started . Will update more when I visit the site this evening.

Some updates to the current situation. A normal Reno takes 5-8 weeks to finish. Due to my tight schedule, carpentry will have to start at the factory once I sign on the contract. That explain why all the bedrooms and kitchen Capentry are ready in the factory Pending installation. And also,all tiling and cornices are up today.

i think so. i will be tiling up the toilet box up. just cant afford to have plastering with the two littles ones around the house. they uses every corner as their play ground.

My contractor is kind of strange. Debris not clear, flooring and painting not done. Least I expect to see is carpentry in the bedroom.

Remember the balcony where there are two different windows panels? I have created a partition wall to cover the panels and make it look more like a bedroom.

Electro & Aircon piping up pending installation. No complaints about the routings of Aircon pipes as they are all tuck nicely in the corner or conceal behind cabinets.

Some progress from my last visit. Gas pipes have been laid Big and small cornices are all up so are the toilet pipe box up

Submitted to change the toilet windows to top hung but was rejected by Hdb. Contractor proposed adjustable louvre windows. Since my original windows are louvre in the first place. I will just change the glass panel and diy the painting myself. Panel taken out preparing for painting.

I thought a few cans of spray paint can do the work. I was so wrong. No matter what brand I tried, the paint just would not stick to the wood. I have no choice but to paint manually. After 12 hours of constant bending,I feel my back is gonna break. End result, priceless.

This hand craved art piece come in four loose pieces. I had cut out a backing board with nail and screw to firmly secure it together. I will give it a new fresh paint when I can find some free time.

I have taken a whole room of cornices down,and that includes the main doorway area and around the dinning just for the rewiring. since i have a liking for them, i will be installing new ones as it does not cost too much.

Piping had been done for both toilet. Basin and the rest of the items will be install at the end of Reno to avoid any damage & disputes. The two horizontal pipes connecting to mixer is not level, will ask plumber to rectified.

Simon commented that my ideas are so old fashion. but I think cornices look nice, it added a touch to the whole house.I always have a liking for houses with cornices. Maybe that's just me

Kudos to the plastering team. They worked throughout the last 4days include Christmas and Sunday just so that another team of guys can come in to start on the cornices and box up.

A tip for new or existing home owners waiting to change or buy brand new mattresses. Join the FB of the particular brand you are looking out for. They will have annually clearance sale of discontinue model or display set. I think it is pretty worth it when I saw the retail price compare to what I got.
