  9. Im doing homogenous tiles for my living/dining area, and laminate for MBR and both CBR on my new 4 room flat. No hacking of walls. My ID told me i had to call HDB to let HDB get people to do the haulage thingy and it would roughly cost me for a $800-900 bill. Is this normal price? As i find it quite expensive because this haulage fee was not mention at all throughout my visit to this ID. Or can i engage my ID for haulage thingy and "skip" HDB? Needed advice from experts here Thanks.

  17. Dear RT members, Attahced is my humble floorplan for my new home. Im going for simple and plain carpentry work due to my budget constraint. Can any veteran or guru guide and advise me roughly how much will ID quote me for these wardrobe, cabinets? Much appreciated and Thank You for your precious time. Below is the breakdown of which is which. Living room A build in half length shoe cabinet with a suspend below(for keeping slippers/slip ons etc), and a tiny L shape/settee besides to sit for wearing our shoes. Not opting for TV feature wall, but rather a low TV rack just nice to put a dvd player and digital set box. The tiny rectangular thingy besides the TV rack is a sort of customise "see thru" 3-4 tiers rack (Fengsui purpose as old people say main door cannot face window directly, thus this shelf for putting ornaments or etc) That little rectangle shape at my dining area is a customise L shape Bar table. Kitchen A full top and bottom kitchen cabinet on one side of the kitchen, and a buttom cabinet on the other side. Depends budget, if too ex will just have bottom cabinet on one side. Bedroom 2 Will be converted into a room full of gadgets, LED tv, pc table, 2 seater sofa seats etc, thus no plan to do anything build in for now. Bedroom 1 A full length wardrobe with sliding doors prefered. MBR A sort of "walk in" wardrobe with 2 full length wardrobe facing each other. And that big brown piece of thingy is a platform with 2 side cabinets, in between will be my queen/king size mattress only. MBR toilet Shower screen door with mounted kerb as drawn and vanity, and PD door CBR toilet L shape shower screen door with mounted kerb and vanity, and PD door Just these carpentry works will roughly cost me how much at least? I understand that wardrobe and cabinet got different pricing, but please help me out with an estimated amount will do if possible. Thank you all in advanced
  18. Hi Abby, mind to share your ID and reno cost with me? :)

    TIA.

  19. Im looking for recommendations on ID's or Contractor's that ever done reno on Yishun Jadespring recently Im not looking at fanciful theme, but just a humble basic reno for the time being. Mine is a 4 room 92m2 tiny place. I visited 2 ID from Gplan and Ideal so far and gotten 2 quotation. I wish to have more options before i commit my "life savings" onto this reno. ID's that did yishun jadespring project before is welcome to PM me as well. Thanks in advanced
  20. Hi all, Been lurking around this forum for quite some time and been asking lots of question regarding renos and contrators contact. Came to a understanding with wife that since budget is tight, we'll have to do the reno with only the essentials first, and slowly, bit by bit "upgrade" as time goes by. My new home is a 92m2 tiny hole. Needed some reno advise and some fees guide to help us can save as much, save! Ceilings L-box or false ceiling cheaper? Im looking at doing the false ceiling around the living room ceiling corner that kind, not the whole piece one. Floor 90% going for lamination for the price comparing with homogenous tiles. Say if im doing the whole house with laminations, excluding kitchen, what brands can i go for, for its durability and cost? Rooms MBR and 1 CBR with build in wardrobe only. Ex mah? Kitchen ceramic tiles (cheaper choice), and build in cabinets with solid top. bathroom both bathroom with sliding glass doors, and, ceramic tiles?(?) Not sure if ive name all the basics essentials for a basics reno, if ive not added some more, what am i missing? And base on the stuffs i indicated, how much roughly is it gonna cost me? Thanks in advanced.
  21. Dear forummers, Needed some input and advice for a budget reno on a 4room new flat. Pardon me for my long naggy post, as this is my first time having a new flat with my wife and im trying my best to ask and learn and absorb as many as possible. In the event of this long post, i may miss out certain things, please correct me whenever possible, and if possible can help to fill in the estimated cost and company name, much appreciated. Hope the question and answer given will benefit not only me, but to the rest of the forummers as well Floor - No default ceramic tiles, thus is assume no hacking. Going for laminate flooring. Despite the much pros and cons, as of now, homogenous tiles is way too expensive for my budget. From the info i gather, Supreme and Pergo lamination is being mention alot of times. Say if im engaing a contractor/ID, whats the cost likely to occur if im doing my living room, masterbed room, and both common rooms? As for kitchen, likely will go for ceramic tiles instead of lamination. Ceiling - False ceiling for whole living room or half living room? Which is better? And simple cornice for every room with spot lights install. Usually does the cost of wiring will be included? And will be installing a ceiling fan on living room and master bedroom only. Paint - Going for white color. What sort of painting should i go for, for a new flat? Ive heard of contrators using cheap paint when owner is not around. How can i tell the difference? Walls - Normal Tv feature walls will do. Rooms - Build in cabinet for Masterbed room and one common room. What sort of wood should i avoid in terms of durability and cost wise. Kitchen - Build in cabinets, with which ok table top for a budget reno? Toilet - Glass doors at shower area, and those cabinet below the sinks. How much does it cost? Im a very rain shower person, so, will install a rain shower head, which kind of water heater and shower head should i go for? Is it going to cost me a bomb for this "enjoying" during shower? I know there is alot more, but this is all i can think of now. My budget for reno, i only set it at 20k as im in the transactionof changing job, spending too much will only put me at a disadvantage spot for now. Thank you guy in advanced for the help and input given.
  22. Posted this on the Fengshui consultation thread, not sure if the members there requires a "fee" to reply, hence posted here instead. Mods, please kindly shift this to here instead I will be getting my new flat keys soon. Needed a lot of advise here for the "opening door" ritual experience veteran here I did a search in this forum, however the results are too vague. But please direct me to the specific thread/topic in this forum if the things im going to ask is asked a lot of times here. Much appreciated. Ok, firstly, i understand that the very first "opening door" to my new flat, it is better to get someone who is born in the year Dragon, Tiger? It is being explained that these people are consider the "fierce" type and can help to reduce the evil aura, if any, if we let them open the door for us instead. Anymore "animals" that can also posses such fierce aura? And also, the age, does it matters for the ones that is opening the door for me? Secondly, other then jossticks (how many sticks roughly), salt, pepper, Pineapple, Big bao, rice grains, what else is needed? And what do i do with them? I know rolling of big bao and pineapple, but where do i roll them, and where do i spread the salts and peppers and rice grains? And the directions of my jossticks, where do i place them? Thirdly, during the ritual, what are those SOP things that i needed to say to the "occupants", if any. Lastly, is there any specific timing to open door, starts ritual or so? If there is, how do i know which timing is best suits me and and my wife? Im not sure if ive missed out anything that i should ask here, but if i do miss out something, please advise and guide me as this is my first time owning my own house and i wanted to do all the necessity properly, correctly.
