  1. Hi zirhk3355, Wow! i didn't know that the area opp your new flat will be a future high rise deveopment. At the moment Clementi Town Sec School is occupying there temporarily till 2009. They were formerly juz in front of my blk. Although it is mid march now.. there is no upgrading or whatever job being carried out at the school. Well at least for the next 4-5 yrs you can enjoy the view if your flat faces outside. Possibly a condo? Nowadays.. they build condos very near MRT stations.. and near HDB flats.. at least the government will earn alot fm that plot of land
  2. Hi zirkh3355, Congratulations! Wow sure thing.. i'm also excited leh.. .hahahh..... it's always nice to go and see something that you've been watching 'grow'... I'm free on most wkends - preferably late morning to afternoon - coz then can see better mah. okie. bring along a note book, pen and camera and take note of all defects to report to HDB.. hopefully the workmanship is ok. also always bring your floorplan..my friend at kallang always had her floorplans, measuring tape etc....

    Nice Clocks ?

Hi all, I know of a shop in Keong Saik Road (near chinatown)...It's in a row of shop houses after the small Indian temple opp formerly known Pearl's Centre and after hotel known as 1928 (or 1929).. those boutique hotels.... I do not know the prices as i just passed by and saw that they have lots of arty farty type of clocks.. a big collection/variety. I also do not know the shop's name.. sorry but do check it out.... it's been there for about 3-4 yrs now.
  4. Hi all, I know of a shop in Keong Saik Road (near chinatown) where there's a shop that sells really exquisitive arty farty type of clocks.... real nice ones... almost like those in Molecule... not sure about the prices though as i juz passed by and did not go in.. .it's a shop house in those row of shop before the popular Yoga/Bookshop/Cafe called Whatever. Sori i do not know the actual name of the shop.
  5. Hi, I believe the town council calls it 'spalling concrete'... my previous experience was that the house owner have to bear the costs but then again i was not staying in the top floor... I have heard that if only the roof on the top floor is leaking into the residence - HDB will foot the bill. Pls call your town council to send men down to your place to check.
  6. Haha...maybe i stress liao! imagine things...hahhah BTW, is there gona be any special name for your estate? I mean Commonwealth Heights or Tower? At clementi the 1st sers flats are known as Clementi Heights (25 storey). My future ones will be called 'The Clematis'.... not official yet.. the signage was blocked off after it was put up. I guess they will only let it out in 2010. And do you know what they are building in between the mosque and queenstown community centre? I didn't see any project title board that is usually put up.
  7. Hi zirkh3355, HDB does change the outlook of the flats/surrounding fm the initial 3D rendering or pictures. one of my friend at kallang also said, one of the front blocks view got blocked by a pillar purely for aesthetic and not functional purpose. that pillar was not there before in the hdb brochure with the picture in front of the booklet! Been passing by commonwealth past three days... hmm are they painting new colours for those flats facing inside? i mean those facing the damien hall church. looks different fm those facing the mrt side.
  8. Hi EAJW - guess u r staying in an exec apt. Wow such high ceiling... must look pretty impressive. thanks for your input.
  9. Hi all, Just wondering - does all HDB top floors come with higher ceiling height than normal? Anyone staying in one or have seen one? Does the whole house have high ceiling height? I know that some 4 storey HDB walk up apartments have a pyramid like roof outside but the ceiling is not high. What they have is extra space in the masterbed room's ceiling - storage space as big as the masterbedroom! Yes i've seen one (at clementi - 28 yrs old) and was simply fascinated... all your unwanted items can be stored there and no one would know it is there... only thing is the maintenance like ants, dust etc... This is something which was built by HDB and not the tenant. I wonder what's the rationale behind that. If you have any info - pls state location/district or if you face any problems like changing light bulbs, painting etc pls share here

  11. Ermmm... mine is an integrated housing..... fm the 3D pix, don't have such drop off point.. as there will be an aircon interchange, 7 levels of shopping and MSC. Don't know at this point, where the drop off point will be. Yes, clementi's roof top garden will on the 8th floor with exercise corners, pergolas, function hall etc. Can't wait to hear more and see the new plans for a green Dawson place! seems so much better than ours.. .hheheehhe Hahahha.. of course, i do understand sum people are into feng shui lah.... You'd be surprised to know my unit number.... of course i would love to come over and view when you get your keys and when tey release the area. Actually i had the chance also to choose 34th floor but didn't because the whole house came with just 3qtr height windows. Well have to live with my choice now. ) I remember when my friend at Kallang (en bloc also), haven't received her keys, we went to take a look at those blocks..... so fascinating/exciting..... Her's is the worst case, took almost 6 yrs. She shifted in last Aug '06. upto now still doing the surrounding porch, playground etc... Hmmm come to think of it... i actually have 3 colleagues who have gone thru hdb ENBLOC and 2 awaiting including me... these days so many enblocs......
  12. Hi skywu and others, I've just passed by tp yday and saw that one of the blk is up completely! I've been following this thread closely and was shocked to learn that HDB has built a 4rm flat with 75sqm!! I know there are some 3rm with 74 sqm like in Pandan Gardens in the west and other 3 1/2 rm with a size of 82sqm. My current flat is a 4rm with size of 82sqm. The newer flats with 85sqm seem quite squeezy!! But i can't imagine 75 sqm! Sorry i don't mean to put a wet blanket. I guess alot of space planning have to be done to create an illusion of space. I would like to view the floorplan of 75sqm and 90sqm. Pls pm me if possible. Because my future flat will be 85sqm. Tks in advance
  13. The exterior in my case, would be the thick wall that will form the bay window. So all bay windows will jut out - like your new flat the windows in the bedrooms if they jut out it is bay window. if not it will be normal window and therefore the size will not affect. So if you minus the extra thick wall for the bay windows.. the internal floor space size is only 85sqm for my future flat.
  14. Hi zirhk3355, The pricelist will state the exterior and interior in sqm. So if i take your estate as a reference, i should believe that clementi will also be completed early 2010. the buffer time is for them to do other stuff like touching up etc... in your case, i just passed by yday and saw there is like a roundabout within the 3 blks. Pls do let us know if you guys can go up 2 take a look at your new flat, i wana look see look see also. hehehhe Unsure, When i got interested on this enbloc thingy.. i was a bit late, i missed out a good 6-7 mths after announcement and when people started to sell and nearly lost all hopes until i found this current one by chance. In fact i spotted the ad and told my agent, who is supposed to be an enbloc specialist at clementi! but didn't even read the ad!! anyway when i went to view the flat was told there was already an offer in the morning, so their agent said whoever can produce a cheque first, it can be considered... I didn't quite like the house but my mom liked it, somehow i unwillingly paid my deposit and have lived there now about 1 yr. So slowly i've grown to appreciate the house - it was bought & renovated just 2 yrs before enbloc by previous owners. Heard fm my agent that there was one seller (an old lady), who didn't even know abt the $30k discount and sold without including that amount! but anyway their house was in a terrible 'original' state. Another seller - who supposedly just did reno 1 yr before it was announced for enbloc was asking at least $50k abv valuation! but at least i understand that they got the highest compensation. According to my agent - fm her sources she concluded that my compensation is one of the high one too. Just keep on looking
