Hmmm...sounded a bit strange leh. Your maid got an entitlement of a room but not your kids, just my opinion hehe. Anyway ur maid's duty is to assist you in taking care of your kids most of the time, so maybe you should have the children room and ur maid sleep with ur kids. That is always the end result of most Singapore families.

hehe... I also never expect our home to be featured in AT too. The editor of AT spotted my home through flickr and drop me a message to invite me for the AT House Tour. Similarly our home is still evolving. So have you prepare your nursery room?

Hi Mist, Thanks for dropping a note in my AT feature, never expect to see your comment. How are you doing? Should be close to meeting your babies soon if I remember correctly...

I love the colour scheme of your home....pastel and earthy. Thats my colour palette too. Well...budget is always a constraint but nevermind, can always add on slowly.

Japanese Style Room
sumobear replied to Himiko90's topic in RENOVATION IDEAS: Interior Design Themes, Space Planning
I am not sure which kind of Japanese style are you referring to, there are eras. If you are talking about the modern japanese style...you can take reference of Muji's home furnishing or probably the Zakka style which is fashionable in Japan now. Going back to the traditional Japanese style, you can probably go for dark wood colour furnitures and have some tatami...their colour scheme is natural and limited, not much of colours. When comes to accessories, there are many colourful choices. Then not forgetting the paper crafts of Japan, you can hang paper lantern. Search the web or go to Kinnokuniya and hunt for interior books. -
Congrats on your new home! I love your home structure very much...can imagine a cozy home. But I think your home do not have much light source right?

You will have your chance. Can always get someone to help you while you are away...

Hey Apple, Is it ex to fine at sirocco in BBK?
-
I don't really support physical punishment unless it is really serious. Kids are mirrors of their parents, they will reflect every thing of their parents like behaviour and actions. I came from a broken family so I am really sensative to such issues and have been studying about human behaviour for a while. I remember seeing an obese family eating at a food court...it is obviously unhealthy to be obese but I do not think they care. They are eating pig trotters, fatty meat, fried chicken wings, drinking cans of soft drinks. Everyone is so round like ball. End of the day...who gave the green light to eat? Answer is Parents. Then because of Kiasu-ism in Singapore, everyone want their kids to be the elites so kept pushing them to go for enriching classes and study extra long hours. Will the parents know how their kids felt? Some kids are really smart in studying but not street smart and some are vice versa. You have to be smart in school but you have to be street smart when comes to working society.

I believe BBs have their pre-programmed genes from their parents but I think their mind is like a blank tape that records everything that they feel, hear, taste and see. Parents are their primary role models, so I think it is no good to take things too lightly.

Hey Apple... How is your BKK trip? Is the boutique hotel that you stayed in good?
-
I went to Ho Chi Minh before but I never really enjoy my trip, just manage to take some nice pictures. Shopping is expensive coz they go by USD and the things are not really nice and value for the amount. To get nice crafts, you need to go to places where the locals go to. Well...we love pet but we are hardly at home so a dog-in-residence is good enough Erm...we are going to be 28 this year but we want to have a kid before 30. We love kids. We have been together for 10yrs so I think the romance need a change so maybe the answer is a kid. I have been taking alot of photos of kids recently, they are like a magnet for my camera. Probably that is a calling...

Thanks thanks...we are very careful with every detail in our home...hehe. Must upkeep our boutique home. The lanterns are gifts from our best friend...she got it from vietnam. Dirt cheap...$7 per piece only! SG selling $80+ per piece! Ohhh...the dog belongs to my brother-in-law but he is a dog-in-residence at our place. Something like a guest DJ in clubs...haha Read about your pregnancy through your blog, hope you are doing fine! We are doing family planning right now...it is abit rush but we hope to have a kid this year.

For Chinese New Year 2008! HUAT ar!!!!! The picture in the photo with lantern is purchased from my Bintan holiday...it is titled Tsunami, it is a dramatic piece of art. Cheap and most rewarding deal for the holiday, $30 for the only piece.
