  1. Why use Sanyo? Not a popular brand in terms of home appliances. Electrolux mah
  2. Now is time to buy some real stuff, anyone can comment on the following furniture shop: 1. http://www.hommage-trading.com/ 2. S&C at Ang Mo Kio 338 3. Star Living quality and most importantly the price...
  3. Congrat Jass, I also bot more with the expectation that some bulb may be faulty. Still in Shanghai...
  4. Ya, 65Daigou, next time will be your uncle
  5. Can't wait to see the final result By the way how's is your contractor? Recommended?
  6. 51.9kg, S$280.73, somemore items coming.. How heavy are your stuff? If cheaper next time ask your uncle to buy har?
  7. Just to add, I ship by sea, how come so expensive???
  8. Hehe, now I feel less painful, I got my stuff at about $400 and the shipping is slightly lesser than $300. 14 rolls wallpapers, 3 bottles of undercoat wall protector for wallpapers, 1 candlelier, 1 crystal dining light, 18 light bulbs, 10 LED spotlights/downlights/lamps, 1 crystal curtain as decorative item and other small items. Before I bought, thought it is cheap, but once got to know the shipping charges to be paid, almost fainted ah! I spent about $50 for the said crystal curtain: Idea is to put it at the living area to devide the living room from the entrance, very hard to imagine but I will post the actual photo of the decoration once done.
  9. Hi everyone, I need some painter contacts, please PM me, thanks
  10. my candlelier arrived in the China warehouse, 17kg in volumetric weight and that cost me 70 buck on shipping which is more than the cost itself
  11. Went to HDB office this morning, settled and decided on the conclusion date on 2 April, that's super fast hur, just within 5 weeks!! Say one thing do the other, that's me . We finally settled the laminate flooring with a brand I have not much faith since the beginning > Supreme. I was suppose to look for Evorich but unfortunately they did not participate in the exhibition this time. So I went to Krono and wasn't convinced by their price, and I think beside Krono, Supreme is another brand at there which is quite popular in the forum, so I sat down and talked to the guy for nearly an hour before making my mind. Four main reasons on why I signed with Supreme: 1. Evorich is not there. 2. the sales guy was telling me that they are biggest in Singapore in terms of laminate floor and they did a lot of commercial projects as well as supply to many contractors. I knew Ciseern is using them, as well as many other ID firms as mentioned in RT forum. I can say this is rather true from my research. 3. they put a board into water and the sales guy show me that board which has only minimal warping. He further proof to me about how good is the wax layer at the joints of the board, which prevents water from absorbing to the board, it is infact impresive to me, but i find that the locking system is not that convincing eventhough the sales try to justify the quality of the board. And most importantly they dare to issue a lifetime warranty certificate . I don't really believe in thing call lifetime protection/guarantee, but atleast if something wrong with their products, I can show the warranty cert to the Small Claims Tribunal... Again, this shows that they are really confidence with their products 4. the sincerity of the sales guy that keep adjusting the price lower when I told him how good is Parador blur blur... And also when I talked about Quickstep, Parador, Takkett, Krono etc, he did admit that they are good but the price is not as competitive to their msian boards. All in all, in fact the final price I had from Supreme is about the same as Evorich's Parador, but the sales guy claim that it is not original German-made Parador if they can market at $3.50/sqft I finally signed the contract with them, estimated 1000 sqft using 8mm AC5 Msian boards. I will surely comment on the quality and workmanship once it is done. One last thing, I got a free luguage from Citibank at Expo
  12. So what are you going to do with the wallpaper? DIY or get somebody else to put it up for you? If you DIY, where do you get all the glue stuff hur?? I saw from Taobao that the correct way of doing is to apply a waterproofing membrane and let it dry for 2 days before applying the glue. But I saw from HomeFix that they sell only the powder, and when I try to order from Taobao, the agent reject it due to possible custom problem.
  13. It has been very busy lately for the new house, looking around for contractor, spending hours and hours on Taobao (indeed a vv good site to collect ideas to renovate house), and finally came to the following conclusion: >> main contractor: Mr Heng at Randy Renovation Contractor >> laminate floor: Parador brand from Evorich, will see them tmr at Expo >> kitchen cabinet: most probably Blve and Blue from MacPerson, in fact they are not responding to my emails, quite upset but still attracted to their price Another updates, just paid for more than 400 bucks to the Taobao's seller mainly for lighting and wallpapers, hopefully the quality meets expectation. Apart from the bedrooms, I got all lightings from this China website. Just to share with you the reason: I saw a 7W LED light bulb at HomeFix selling for SGD29.90 and they have only Philips brand. In contrast, I bought from Taobao 7W LED light bulb for CNY45.00 and yet lots of brand to choose from. And, one thing I must say is that I use almost LED lights in whole house, that's really save lots of energy hur!! Well anyway, tomorrow is the 1st appointment ( just the 1st appointment nia) and we really really look forward to collect the key. Lastly, have a good weekend to everyone!!
  14. Sorry, overlook the ceiling work, don't know what work is that, at most 1k, so the FOC = $1458
  15. To me, not cheap at all. 1. bases for cabinet, fridge and washing mac = S$310 2. 2 shower kerb = S$240 3. Labour for installing bathroom accessories and heaters = S$360 4. Tempered shower screen = $1000 5. Painting = $1300 6. Kitchen cabinets = $1600 7. Granite (assume China) = $720 8. Less Ikea voucher = ($100) 9. Total for the FOC = $2458 Disclaimer: I am not contractor, comments made with reference to various quotations received from other contractors. Suggest you get a few quotes for comparison.
  16. I find it quite reasonable, for your info, I was quoted as follows: 1) To provide labour and materials to lay ceramic wall tile to ceilling height using tile adhasive over existing tile. SGD 1200.00 2) To provide labour and materials to lay homogenous floor tile. SGD 400.00 5) To supply and install tempered glass frameless shower screen c/w temered glass and kerb SGD 1260.00 Swing door for 2nos bathroom.@$630.00 For the laminate floor, assume that total area of your rooms are 700sqft, so S$3.50 psf. You may want to find out what brand the contractor is using, laminate floor range between S$2.50 to S$6 / S$7. Anyway I trust that it should be cheaper if you get the laminate floor company to do it for you. Also for your info, the shower screen is less than S$400 if you get direct from glass work company.
  17. Thank tlh4 for the reply, I wonder no others using laminate flooring?
  18. Sorry, didn't realised that you were talking about the cabinet. So for the cabinet drawer, I have a quote of $80 for "supply & install forsted glass door". Please note that the price is for drawer not for the door. I find it expensive so drop the idea. p/s: I ever saw from ikea about the cabinet frosted glass door, maybe you may want to find out the price for comparison purpose.
  19. I was quoted $780 for 10mm sliding w/o frame, but my kitchen entrance is about 130-140cm.
  20. To All Fellow RT Forumers, If you have install laminate flooring at home, would you please contribute some inputs: 1. What brand you are using? 2. How much per sqft? 3. How long you have been using? 4. How is the condition now? 5. What is your comment on the quality and the after sale service? Thanks a Million!!
  21. Yaya agree, I saw one unit at Woodlands is actually at second floor, and I love the greenery view outside. But drop it because not near to MRT. As long as have good neighbour, unblock view, windy and nice renovation, it really doesn't matter which floor you are. Mine at low floor also.
  22. In fact the lawyer was intro by my banker, and he said the fee is approx. 1800, means I have to fork out about 400-500 after subsi. But if the lawyer charges me 2500, then I have to fork out more than 1000. This does matter
