actually i am curious... when to get roast pig? GDL or AD? my hubby insist is GDL, because on AD need to give pig trotters. then i insist to be given on AD. want to fight with him liao.. lol..

The bridal shop white link got TW contacts on xi bing.. super expensive.. $30-$40 per box.. *faint* 4 dian jin, my hubby says my in-laws cannot afford as they are not working. so actually told him never mind then. but he insist on buying, to prevent my parents say any nasty things. so since we holds the key, we decide to buy 4 dian zuan (white gold diamonds). manage to find a good deal. $2k for the whole set. that day my mum was asking sia, she ask if my in-laws got buy anything for me. I just answer yes, diamonds. she got comment diamonds next time no value.. i just say i like.. wow, you very tradition.. haha.. i cannot stand yellow gold sia.. diamonds more suitable for me.. bling bling.. then i can wear out daily..

Agree with Phantom. It is good to discuss with bride's family. dont just assume and make guessing. If bride's family asking for high price, you may want to tell them your difficulties. I am sure they understands. Like me, I just openly mention infront of my parents and my hubby. I am quite surprised that my mum doesnt want much. She doesnt want to take any tables, angbaos collected to be given us back. Even pin jing also a very small amt, just for a token sake. But she wanted Xi bing and roast pig, so we agree to give her.

My mum also wanted roast pig. we are hakka.. she say is a tradition to have roast pig for hakka.. anyway, we agree to give liao...

Btw, Ping li is wedding gifts, which consist of the following: - wedding cakes, - two bottles of brandy, - even numbered of tangerines or oranges, - peanut candies for a teochew bride and rice candies for a hokkien bride, - at least six tins of canned pork legs or a whole roast pig for cantonese bride, - betrothal jewellery from the groom’s parents to the bride aka 'Si Dian Jin' Another thing will be Ping Jin (bride's dowry), which is the angbao to be given to bride's parents. These stuffs should be discussed with bride's parents. Bride's parents will gives a rough idea how much they want. By right groom side (either groom parents or groom) responsibility. Nowadays, young couples will settle all these themselves. The above stuffs are to be given during Guo Da Li. It is just a rough guide. Impt thing is cater the needs to your FIL. Like mine, my parents find brandy/martel no use. They dont drink. We decide to change few bottles of red wines for them. Hopes this helps.

Hihi, Usually, AD Photographer and videographer are not included inside basic bridal package. But nowadays, some bridal studio starts to include either one of them or both inside the package, of course at different pricing. Some bridal studio will also tell you they have special rate for AD Photographer and videographer, if sign up package with them (which means tie with external sources.) montage slideshow of the morning's events -> are you saying morning express highlights? the video that groom went to fetch bride? Or childhood photo montage? Both are actually done by the videographer. Looking at your package, are both MTM or OTR package? And, I would give an advise is, try not to sign any package during roadshows. Comes to bridal package is mainly on gowns. During the roadshow, not possible to see or even try their gowns. Things on photo albums are pretty limited to foresee. It is good to make a trip down to their bridal shops, and look at their gown designs, see what aspect are they good at. Most bridal package will sure comes with something that is not MTM. If cant possibly find something you like, is pretty upsetting. And also customer service, during roadshow, they sure say every ok. And this 'ok' might cause problems in future. I got a friend that having alot of problems with her BS, which sign during roadshow. So just an advise to ppl who are searching for BS.

Went to tradehub 21 to look for bedframe. Realise there got a Ackerman outlet lor.. and bought my bedframe there. If I know earlier, I would have bot my mattress there also. Lazy to go all the way to toa payoh.. the bedframe cost me $1k.. slightly expensive but we like it alot. This design.. But this colour.. hopefully it matches my MBR colour, which is now earth colour..
