Earlier I mentioned looking for sofa up-hostelry. I tried my luck to look for that shop who help me customised my sofa previously. It's located at Bedok Industrial area, the shop is no longer there but but but the sofa maker is still there!! Went in talk to the small boss, choose the fabric and discuss on the modification of the sofa. As you can see from the photo, the body of the sofa is made of steel, it is necessary due to the 2.75m length. But now this is giving us problem. (Can't fit the life and cant go up the stair). Simple Solution... Saw into half and welded it back using nuts upon delivery. Yippy!!!! This is the fabric chosen

Hi Jeep3, I chance upon your Tblog and saw your dry/wet kitchen! We have almost the similar open kitchen concept. But I can't have wet/dry, area is smaller and we need to accommodate our washer&dryer. Hope you don't mind if I use your photos for my own reference. Having headache planning the placement for all the kitchen appliances.

Hey Solchiro, Can I check with you on your Internet connection? Where do you place your broadband and router? Is there any bind spot area when can't get good connection. I'm thinking dinning area might have problem

Thanks LLChing! I might also get a rented place. Moving back to my patents house is way way too far and inconvenient for my children' school.

Thanks for your tips. Good idea to sell to cash converter. I will donate all the old toys and clothes to salvation army, My SO also tell me burn the doc. Maybe I should buy a mini burner to burn, faster than shredding. Shredder machine spoilt due to over heating!

If I guess correctly, it must be HCP and HCPots?

I have a question for house moving, hope someone can enlighten me. How do you clear your unwanted stuff, example old radio or any electronic stuff, old toys, old furniture and etc? How do you destroy confidential documents? Like bank statement etc. I used to file it neatly, but now I just dump it in a box. Can I just throw it in the chute?

Hi LLChing, Your floor area is almost the same as mine. I remembered I went to house viewing with similar floor plan as yours. We loved the space but it was poorly maintained, ceiling turn black and mouldy, pipes dripping... can faint! We try to source for similar units but very limited in our area. Can share where do you store your stuff? I'm going to be homeless in 3 weeks time

Not only 1 room less, smaller balcony and more void area in upper floor, so I think smaller bedroom also. But overall, it's a good size for a family of 4. Our initial plan is minimum renov, without touching upper floor. Then after meeting IDs, we went overboard. Seeing the quotation, we almost faint! So now, trying to cut cut cut, do away with unnecessary item.

I hope it will save a fair bit, getting a re-quote from contractor for keeping the flooring. Yes overlaying but not wood, it will be resilient vinyl flooring. Very high maintenance for wood flooring, and we want to minimise hacking. Renov should be starting very soon, just hope HDB don't give me problem.

Whenever I run out of ideas or need some inspirations on certain part of the house designing, I will always head to freshome. Lots of ideas for each zone of the house and lots of different design theme for inspiration. You will find yourself spending hours reading their blog. Enjoy!

Open Kitchen is the trend going forward. Even my mum (old fashion type) said she wants an open kitchen, she feels very sad whenever she is trap in the kitchen cooking while the rest of the family enjoying outside. So with our new house, she can come and cook, and we will all sit at the island and watch her... whahahhaha I'm also thinking of cooking/baking activities for the children around the island, so with an open concept, there are more space to mingle around. You still have time to convince your hubs.. heee heee IDs initially wanted to keep the marble until they see this photo... Yes shall overlay so renov is lest disruptive. I totally agreed, it's move in condition! The previous owner kept the unit quite well and they are very nice, they cleared every single item on the floor and on the wall. They even removed some build-in shelving and old poster etc.

Yes very big, can dance inside!

Your 4A looks huge and it comes with balcony. I admire your courage in re-vamping your existing house, it's quite disruptive right. Especially the packing and alt accomodation.

I love your yard! Can hide all the bulky washing machine and unsightly clothes. When cooking, also no need to bring clothes down.... Very clever idea!

I think I know where you got the group buy... Heard it is good!

Need advice... Looking for re-upholstery for our 6yrs old sofa. In fact we are wondering if we can bring this over to our new house. It is 2.7m Long and 1.2m depth. It will definitely not able to fit the lift and have to go by the stairs, but turning radius might be a problem. This is a customised sofa, we loved it so much we can't bear to dump it. It is made of heavy steel and come with thick form. The backing can be detachable, which will turn into a long single bed (good for occasionally visitor). It is still in a very good condition, just need a new uphos. We have called up one sofa maker and they are not so keen to do it for us, quoted us $1,500+ and told us to buy their sofa. Called up a few mover company, some say no problem, one say can try Anybody out there have contacts for upholstery? Anyone has a 2.7m sofa and any problem in delivery?

Some advantages of two sinks I can think of is it serve as a temp rubbish area when preparing food or when soak/cleaning vegetable. Or during party, can filled it up with ice and throw beer inside.
