Congrats in securing an EM. Not many of those are put on sales these days. Your West EM is in Bt Batok, Jurong East or Jurong West? Happy reno!
-
Acckkk! Happy too soon. It seems that hacking of one of the wall is not approved. Puzzled why not approved because the hacking is only for 2/3 of a wall (more like an enlarged door opening) underside the RC beam. Will reapply again. Keeping fingers crossed.

Oh .. Unity58 pmed me. So I gave him Andrew's contact. -
Went to Hafary at Tradehub 21 and 3rd time to SBH yesterday. Managed to re-select our tiles for the common toilet at SBH. Had also made reservation for all needed tiles in case no stock again. Already started moving our "hardly use but need to keep" barang to my sister's place for storage. Hopefully by reno time, we don't need to hire a mover company. Big items will only be our 37" TV, fridge and washing machine.

Thanks NeoBy for the "warning advisory". Though I din buy the defective product, I still think it is good of you to post here in case other RT bought it but is in the dark.

The original hardcopy will be sent to the house owner. ID contractor can check via HDB e-service which is faster. Andrew gave me a copy of the approval he churned out via e-service. I have yet to receive the original from HDB.

Waahoo . All hacking approved :sport-smiley-004: Final measurements done for the 2 toilets. Won't bother them till reno time Initial selection of laminates done for kitchen top/bottom cabinets, rebuilt storage area's sliding door, workstation and bookshelves, shoe cabinet cum storage cum TV console. He'll try to input them into the 3D drawings and present them next Tuesday. If not nice, choose again. Laminates not selected yet for breakfast table cum storage, MBR's wardrobe, sliding door into WIW for girls' room, WIW shelvings, TV feature console in entertainment room and 2 low CD/DVD cabinets. Rooms should be easy to choose. Andrew says he'll come and disturb us once a week till reno time, then we'll be introduced to his coordinator who will be assisting him. Have to re-select the wall and floor tiles for the common toilet. Yesterday's meeting was from 8.30pm to 12.30am.

With just 1 wall, should be no problem getting a fast approval. For us, we are concerned hacking of the MBR/storerm wall and repositioning of the MBR and common toilet door may pose a problem. Hacking of storerm/bedrm wall and 2 kitchen walls should be ok.

Asked him that too about using freelancers. He said freelancers cannot scold and not willing to change their designs. He wants a permanent staff who is willing to listen to constructive criticism either from him or clients. HOLES.. for now .. hahaha. His mind is always changing and we'll just let him comes out with his final presentation. Funny! You'll know he's changing his mind again when he asks impromptu : You like rough surfaces? You like woodgrain? You like holes? You don't like chandeliers, right?

We went to The Peak showroom when it was in the market because of the centralised location. Also went to the one at Bishan, Clementi, Yuan Ching and Tampines. Due to household income, not eligible though agent tried to convince us to apply by sidetracking (HDB loophole). Loved The Arc.

Due to Andrew's "bad temper," his ID resigned. Every time made errors even after being reminded. Andrew tak boleh tahan and told ID to be more conscientious in his work. ID not happy, so left lah! Don't know who did mine but really cannot make it one. Maybe the ID wants to sabo Andrew B4 leaving???? Error1: Just because we are converting the balcony with 6 panels window into an office does not mean that we're having all the windows blocked up and turned it into an enclosed room! :bangwall: Error2: Whole house only 2 colours - 90% beige and 10% dark brown from ceiling to floor, including all laminates for cabinets. :jawdrop: Andrew told us his idea and we are quite game. He'll asked his carpenter to help too. Meanwhile, I'm also giving him my 2 cents worth.

My daughter will love to have all those gadgets in our forthcoming entertainment room. Cannot let her see your blog .. saliva drooling all over the place liao!

Must thank your sycamore fan. Because of it, you've met so many neighbours. When have kids, can ask neighbour to babysit instead of getting foreign domestic help. Kekeke.

With cash converter, you should make a list of how low a price you are willing to let go for your new stuff, individually. Otherwise, they'll give you a low price and see your reaction. I've seen 1 person trying to sell his golf club and they offer $150 for it and he back out. Then they offer $180 but he's still unwilling to sell. No sale. They love new electrical stuff. If you have lots of stuff, can arrange for their staff to go to your place to look see. Can't remember the actual procedure. Saw their brochure once on this service. Go during weekday, preferably afternoon. Have to wait quite long during weekends. Get a queue number 1st. If queue too long, can run errands 1st then come back - like see doctor. Fruitful selling!!

Just found out that Hafary had a branch at the West too. Quite near my place some more. May drop by later to see whether they have the mosaic I like so much. Went to SBH yesterday again with my hubby to see if we can get a substitute - no such luck. Got 2 more sample tiles though. Cos it was 1 1/2 hour b4 closing time and we are the only ones there, we have the whole group of staff serving us!! Andrew will drop by tmr for measurements and see what new tiles we are also considering. Gave us 4 books of the laminates to browse through these few days as well as Nippon Paint catalog to shortlist colour scheme. Told us there is no colour limitation but too many colours used in one house can be very scary one. Eyes gone blurred and running out of colour tabs liao. He was totally not satisfied with the 3D drawings and was not keen to show us. But he obliged and yeah... we were not satisfied either. Many errors and we were laughing over the ridiculous use of laminates. There were 2 drawings for the kitchen, 1 for the living room, 1 office area, 1 MBR, 1 entertainment room, 1 girl's bedroom. Ehh .. din see drawings of the 2 toilets leh!?

Got a good, practical head on his shoulder, that hubby of yours Congrats on getting your keys soon. Which part of Spore is your DBSS?
-
1st appt over, when take key?

I can put my chair outside at the "pte lift landing" (shared by neighbour and ourselves only), enjoy the breeze from all direction, with Bt Batok Hill at the far distance, the children and adult pool, BBQ pit, pavillion, practice putting green and lush greenery just below ... drinking my strawberry favoured tea ... yakhahaha .. Actually, if not for both your temptations, I would not have realised that I DO have all these to enjoy but I never did.
-
Don't tempt me!!! One consolation. I can open up all my grilles.
-
I'm afraid of height, yet am the one changing curtains and cleaning windows regularly. But I'm also the one who wants to forgo all grilles. I like the free, open , bright feeling! . The other 3 members are concern for me
-
If I change windows, then I will forgo all grilles except the ones at the balcony. Our new lift is 90 degree to our balcony and can see into our house through the 1st 2 panes. That's why I want to change all the balcony panes to sand blasted ones. Presently, I use mahjong paper to cover the 1st 2 panes. But since we are no longer changing windows, the grilles will stay too. My grilles are cemented and flushed with the window opening. Cannot dismantle, must hack. The 2 toilet windows are the "bo bian" ones - must go!
-
Convinced! The new ones are really fragile . Keeping all my windows and grilles except those "bo bian" ones. Chose our tiles from SBH yesterday and disappointed that the one I really, really like is being reserved by someone else. Put ourselves on waiting list but meanwhile will choose another as standby. After close scrutiny of the tile samples, found the quality of 2 tiles (both for kitchen wall)failed my "inspection". Will choose again. Apart from 2 mini sprays and hood/hob, bought all others sanitary products from Universal. Now left with the electrician/lightings to consider.
