  1. Yay, do that! If he gives you his signature criticism "not nice lah ... do again .. and again ... and again", you can also fry his sotong. kekeke. He's upset because he couldn't keep his promise to new clients due to the unforeseen situation. Seems that things didn't go as smoothly as he wanted during his absence too. But he's a fighter. He'll jump over the hurdle.
  2. Yeah man! Yesterday he was super stressed! Based on his side of the story, new 3D staff can't take criticism. Not happy when told design not nice. So quit lor! He was better today when the reality of not having the 3D staff finally sinks in. He can one, have to work even harder nia. It was quite humorous seeing Andrew, the false ceiling man and the Opennet guy discussing where and how to lay the cable. Opennet man wanted to conceal their fiber cable in my electrical casing. I insisted on a separate trunking and not too near my electrical trunking too. With false ceiling, box-up and ceiling to floor TV console, who cares about his ugly wiring!? If no signal later on, I'm sure they will blame our contractor for damaging the cable. Now, everything is separated. Different entry hole through the wall, different trunking. Anyone who wants to experience good sound system must really drop by Atlas(Bose) at triple one. Very nice and high tech place. Listened to 3 different model and felt that Lifestyle 235 is good enough for us. Tested the sound of a movie (using blueray) and although the 3 speakers are located in front, it's like surround. 5 speakers definitely sounds magnificent but maybe a bit too much for our small room. I find the sound bar has too much bass and I can feel the floor vibrates. We also used girlie's songs from the ipod to test and were surprised that a good multimedia system really does make a lot of difference. They will install and calibrate for us. Promotion ends June 22.
  3. You are keeping the toilet wall tiles?
  4. Andrew is back! From today, full steam ahead :sport-smiley-004:. Finally bought my hood and hob to be delivered next Monday . Tomorrow Opennet in the morning and music appreciation at noon.
  5. Hehehe.. I think I may be classified as the "older generation" . But I do like interesting old stuff too. We have quite a few small pieces of "antique" which others might find useless but to us, it has an interesting history.
  6. No lah No lah. No need so good one. Just a modest Lifestyle 135 or 235 will do. Room not padded. Might investment in a "sound reducing" curtain instead. Must see the price 1st.
  7. Need Andrew to add 1 more pt for the electronic hob and to reconfirm the dimension and when can deliver. Intend to get PH730RT IX (750mm)hob and SL191P IX (900mm)hood. The 900mm hob pkg costs the same but it means eating up extra space which I ill afford. Many questions for Andrew when he comes back tmr. We have also targetted a Samsung TV but need the maximum measurement allowed on our TV console wall. I have yet to visit Atlas at triple one to test out Bose multimedia system. Don't think we'll need the back speakers since the room is small.
  8. I bought my lights at Tradehub21 branch and collected them all within an hour because their store is just beside their showroom. Can order 1st, go for lunch nearby, then collect goods
  9. Confirmed today that Opennet cabling will be this Friday 15/6 as scheduled. Must keep calling Singtel Fiber Dept for the date. Some wise chap there pasted a note stating that if "I" were to call to ask about the date, to let me know it's confirmed! What the @#* . At least no more pulling hair on that issue now Found the perfect Ariston hood and hob for myself yesterday. A wee bit pricy at a package $878 including GST but quality is good. Loved it
  10. 2nd appointment today right? Have a smooth sailing transaction and hassle free reno.
  11. Light has a "back to the past" feel. Found in boom shelter tunnels or colonial barracks or Alfred Hitchcock's films.
  12. Hi Franciz, go look at ymjp100 blog. House nicely done with glass panel for stairs.
  13. Have a look at Aristotle's blog. His floorplan is similar to yours. His colour scheme is the direct opposite of what you have in mind though.
  14. Singtel is driving me up the wall . We applied for internal relocation of fiber optic pt in 12/5 and NetCo appt date is 15/6. Staff servicing us specifically told us to call Opennet a few days B4 the actual appt as a reminder. ID requested pushing back the date to 5/7 only if there is no penalty charge. Called Opennet this morning and was told that there is no record on their side of an appt Opennet insisted that I call Singtel because Singtel is the one who fixed the appt for us. Called Singtel, relate our problem and was transferred to the fiber dept. Was told that the appt date was just for checking the fiber box, not cabling as there is no record of cabling in their system. Asked her about the $220 we have to pay and she admitted that was for relocation/cabling. Then she transferred me to their fiber pre-activation dept who said that if we want to change our appt to 5/7, we will have to pay another $220 (total: $440). Hey, I'm not born yesterday! Obviously Singtel had overlooked my account and they want us to pay for their mistake?? So, I told the guy I do not wish to change date. I want a confirmation from him of what their men will be doing on 15/6. He sounded fluttered when he realised that I want things done on 15/6. Said he will arrange with Opennet and reconfirm with me again. If he came back with a later date and no penalty charge, then I'll act the good guy and oblige. Otherwise, die die Singtel also must appear at my doorstep this Friday.
  15. Uh hum .. From the view of a cleaner, those holes will trap dust, cobwebs, good lizard hiding place. Since it is a fountain, the places where water flows through will get slimy 1st, then turn green, then black if not maintain VERY regularly. My discarded pond was of mountainous design with water flowing into a fish pond. The whole thing was fiber glass!
  16. @ getzski : Hehehe .. to cover Ah Long's graffiti?
  17. Confused! Andrew called yesterday to inform us that electrical cables up liao and that he will come back from Malaysia on Wed??? Thought he went already? Anyway, we were curious as to how the wirings can be up when the tilings are still in process. So we went and viola, it was done Our friendly chinese worker was there again doing patch up work to the walls. We jokingly teased that singlehandedly, he can complete the whole reno. He did the wall tiles, hollow blocks, put up the new door frames, cement screeding. @piknik - Good for you for getting a good price. I am now comtemplating Mayer's Ariston or Deliza hood and hob. Got to see the quality and specs 1st since these are at a higher price. May have to consider 3 burners as 2 burners are pretty limited in choice. Aiya, can't decide yet. These are the only 2 items we need to buy by end June.
  18. We had a schedule calendar from ID showing when things will be done right up to handover day. However, he does reschedule things a bit but will definitely inform us of the change. Our electrical laying of cables was brought forward by a week but they would come a 2nd or even a 3rd time for pts and lights installation after painting. Hence, maybe both of you can get Alan to let you all have a rough time table of when things are needed all the way to handover date. Let him know that you need more time buying stuff which both of you like and not things just to accommodate his timing. I'm sure he will understand and oblige. Meanwhile, since you know what will be needed subsequently, hunt now lah. Just call him to reconfirm the correct dimension B4 purchase. Hold him responsible if salah size!
  19. View from MBR looking at the hacked emptiness of the storeroom wall, right to the future door of bedroom 2. This small area will be the WIW.
  20. Door of common toilet to be relocated
  21. Testing ... Long time din post. Hope it works. This is my kitchen with the walls hacked. See Andrew on the right?
  22. Wait till end 2013, when JEM (new shopping ctr is up), then come. You'll have more choices. The old IMM, Jcube where you can try ice-skating at its Olympic size ring, JEM which boasts of shops found in Orchard Road like H&M and of course, the Furniture Mall as well. I hope by then, Furniture Mall will have more tenants. Now, it is sooooo pathetic. Bo Bian leh .. an ordinary single wooden bed frame sold at neighbourhood furniture shop already cost $180 . Mattress not included some more!! Inflation
  23. Goodness Found the notification for undelivered registered mail dated May 31 among the tiles. Don't understand why post lady still deliver the notice to a house under reno. Since she has the master key, can't she just post it into the letter box? Higher chance of it being pass on to the correct person mah! (even if the house is sold). Luckily we saw it today and hubby rushed down to post office to collect his precious baby.
  24. Waa.. really leh! Drop by just now and 4 Zenterra workers were carrying all the trunking, cables to our place. One of them told us that they will come a 2nd time after painting to install fans, lights etc. The place was neatly cleared and the same chinese national was there doing tiling to my common toilet wall Different tiler as Battle's. Marble tiles around the hacked walls were very nicely cut and removed. Impressed! Hubby and I had a closer look at the balcony floor and were relieved that in broad day light, it does match . Tiler had aligned 2 rectangular marble slates to 1 square tile and implanted an aluminum strip separating my balcony and living room area. It looks intentional We are gaining more confident in Andrew and his team each day.
