  1. After reading all your posts and exchanges with bb, i am even more convinced that you are or linked to James Tey the disguntled ex-employee of bb. You use the same phase "what goes around comes around again" mentioned by bb. Hmmm. James? You keep attacking them and said you are consumer , got quote from them, then say expensive, and when bb replied you, you beat around the bush and just repeat the posts which may also be planted by you in the first place, which consumer will do all that if they got nothing against them personally? And then you started to say I and bb is the same! Haha! If you are James, You may have forgotten that I nearly signed up with your company 9 Degrees at Enterprise One for some carpentry, we also got quote from bb at that time. Your salesman, Raymond or something that said a lot of bad things about bb. I signed up with bb steven because of the mess I saw in your showroom - it is not completed, things have fallen from your ceiling partition lights holders. How can I trust my reno to 9Degree if they cannot even get that right. I think I made the right choice and yes I advertised for them because they are good. I also advertise for *, Darwin and so on. I don't say good things about you because you seems to have a personal agenda against bb and it is very clear from your posts! I only know from visiting barouche, a ID next to 9 degree that when I realized that the company Closed suddenly! They told me that they heard some clients or staff were complaining loudly in 9 Degree showroom. anyway, whether you are James or not don't bother me. If you are James, I think you won't last very long in this industry if what bb posts about you are true. Consumers if going to Tradehub better check if the boss of the ID is call James or surname Tey. Be careful, don't be the next collapsed ID victim of this group of people.
  2. Sorry your are right for some classifieds. i forgot my own experience, i also got hit before by an uncle who quote me very expensive for a plumbing choke and i did not want to do it. He refused to leave my house until i paid him $50. i got to call the police to get him out.
  3. $50 per contact very exp. just go to the classified. they are probably all there. with the exception of curtains, lighting fixtures, taps and sanitary ware. I suggest you get some quotes from ID, if you pressed them hard enough if you know how, you could get the job done cheaper than you were to do it yourself and save yourself the headache, the leave you have to take to supervise the work, open the doors, wastage of materials, etc. The prices that contractor that will charge you will not be at the prices they gave to IDs, it is alway higher. you also pay for any extras modifications along the way if you make a mistake as some contractors may not tell you everything unless you are very experience. from your lack of contacts tells me that you are a novice. so dont try. every trade got its secrets!
  4. Silicon is probably your best solution now if he is willing to do it. a lot of contractors are like that, after taking your money, hack care already. How to complaint to his boss, he is the boss.
  5. carpenters or even tilers, especially from Malaysia don't like modifications, they consume a lot of time so they prefer not to get involve compared to new construction where they make more money i suppose. Go back to the carpenter which did the feature wall for you and get him to rectify it. Hopefully, you can still locate him. if he is from Malaysia factory without factory in Singapore, good luck to you. He cannot and would not be interested to solve your problems as he cannot just bring a few planks and tools from Malaysia to fit out your problem. He needs a large or full lorry load of carpentry to justify his trip. IDs with Singapore carpentry sub-contractors or better still with their own factory is probably the best bet for after sales service and modifications like yours.
  6. Agreed with you, referral is by far the best lead for any sales, be it renovation or other industry. Go with the person you are most comfortable with. See his ongoing sites/work. I have been in sales in industrial products for many years. In that industry, it is probably not so complex as renovation where there are a lot of crooks around since there is very little barrier to enter the business and the money is big. I met a lawyer who told me that many profit sharing salesman or even ID, mostly small ones with no office or support staff ran away with clients money. The casino is probably a big draw for these contractors. You saw in the papers, contractors bosses asking their indian workers to go and gamble for them. if the salesman ran away and the ID is big, the company will most likely to cover the losses of the clients. For the small firm, it might sink them or the ID might want to start another one to avoid paying the losses of the clients. Bottom line is pay direct to the company by cheque, never pay cash to the salesman name even if he tells you all the stories that he need to draw the cash now to pay the contractors to start work immediately or give you a discount if you pay him directly. Cheques payment make a financial paper trail to support your case if something goes wrong and you have to go to court to cover your losses. These dishonest salesmen, some of them very experience, usually end up in jail for CBT. Plenty of such cases said my lawyer friend. Don't forget, the salesmen or referral may have done a good job before, he can change with the casino around. Be safe is better than be sorry. For me, the minimum for my contractor is that I must see an office or a showroom with support staff, designers, admin, better still factory, warehouse, etc. Referral with the above infrastructure, better still. That is probably the reason why bigger firms like *, Darwin, Chew, so on is around year in and out. The smaller ones need some niche selling points or he has very strong referrals in place like insurance salesman who needs about 400 clients to stablised his referral leads.
  7. Try maxim in midviewncity Jennifer tan 90080759. They do Korean wallpapers.
  8. Probably safest choice since never heard of accoya wood. Let someone try first, perhaps big developer. It is probably a chemical treated wood. Or it might be a hard outdoor wood. If it is soft don't use, even if it chemical treated for outfpdoor use. They dents too easily. Popular hard woods used for decking besides composite, are chengal, iron wood, merbau and Balau. Other woods i heard is from indonesia, kempas, but i have never seen such decking installations. I am attracted to composite up is the clip system without nails is the wood tops. natural wood is nice but need to maintain. Make sure the decker stain the wood on the underside too. Water base stains from europe are the best.
  9. My friend is looking for a very high end main door for a large landed property. They are not interested in solid wooden door, stone, veneer door or laminate door. Anyone got solutions pls pm me. This.
  10. Do you have fan with led centre lightings. Must be quite bright, good motor and comtemplorary in design. White or silver colour. Good price? Pls pm me. Thanks.
  11. Anyone out there who knows companies like Acacia Fabrics and or can start some group buying for curtains. They got very nice fabrics and not sure if they make finl curtains. I need to buy for my new condo. I saw some groups doing group buying for decking. How about curtains and Korean wall papers? I heard people going to Malaysia to buy, but not sure which shop is reliable.
  12. Just want to check if any one has done their kitchen with stickers, decals or printed films behind the tempered glass for kitchen back splash glass? Any picture to show or if the heat from cooking can affect te colors or stickers after sometime? Thinking of doing that?
  13. Wow you seems to know so much and gets very aggressive for a silent reader! In his first post in the forum he immediately complained that i advertise for Lamidoor. Then he said they are the same company and boss. Wow know so much insider info. Later he said their carpentry is indeed cheap but other stuff is expensive. How do you know it is cheap if you are not someone from the industry. Silent reader my foot! It seems that he has probably no answer to their internal laminate strategy. Only someone still in the renovation industry or definitely looks like a disgruntled ex-employee that probably got fired or something like that or hate the company or boss so much so that he will get so personal in his attacks. In this forum, every company seems to have bad reviews. Some are probably real, many are probably baseless. Look at many of the more prominent IDs, big or small, all got wacked. That is how forum works. I did my carpentry in internal laminates and they are cheap and good. I pay and they deliver. I don't care what some guys with some hidden agenda siad. I do my due diligemce. I visit their ongoing sites, their factory, showroom, talk to their clients and see their quality before making decisions. That is the fact that they have a unique superior product - internal laminate cabinets. You also confirmed that their carpentry is cheap. Nothing wrong in using that winning strategy since they import their own laminates. Different comanies have different strategies in the market place. Only those who spend time attacking others without developing any unique selling points or strategies for their companies will see their business declined, then get bitter and eventually fail. I am wondering, how can their hardware, sinks, taps and sanitary wares be expensive when they import, distribute and deal directly with end customers. You got check their prices or not or are you just bullxxxxing that you got a quote from them. Quotations are free anyway from them or other IDs. Get a quote and compare or believe this disgruntled guy. From his immediate reaction, he is probably be amongst the group that left Blve to form 9 Degrees Design which closed suddenly in less than 6 months. Not a very good track record indeed on the leader, James Tey's resume. I think Blve boss should thank God that they left. Who needs employees like them! Would you trust your renovation to them? Beware!
  14. you mentioned that they run away with the money. Please provide proof and the police report. If this is true, they would have closed shop and their showroom. The answer to you is very simple in addition to the earlier reply suspecting that you are James Tey or his team at the real ID, 9 Degree Design who closed suddenly after only 6 months or less. Can you find a ID or carpentry contractor who can offer: Kitchen cabinets, upper and lower cabinets say 20 ft run with the following specifications: 1) Exterior in High Pressure Laminate (HPL) laminate finish, 0.7 to 1.0 mm thickness. 2) Interior in High Pressure Laminate (HPL) laminate finish, 0.7 to 1.0 mm thickness. NOT PVC PLYWOOD INSIDE. PVC film glued on plywood is only about 0.2 mm and easily cuts, scratches, turn yellow, absorb moisture and promotes bacterial growth if they are penetrated. That is why the typical sink cabinet smells and the doors tend to have hinge problems or wood rot problems. NOT POLYGON LAMINATE INSIDE (POLYGON paint coating in time flakes, turn yellow, particle very static and sticks to plates, bowls, etc. in order of accending quality and price - PVC, Polygon, HPL laminates. 3) High quality Soft closing hinges for all doors. 4) High quality Stainless Steel Soft closing hinges for all doors or carcass in sink and vanity cabinets. 5) High quality chrome finish Under-mounted Soft Closing Drawer Slides (Excel, Brum, Revo or similar) for all drawers. NOT THE SIDE MOUNTED FULL EXTENSION DRAWER SLIDES IN BLACK OR CHROME FINISH. Under mounted drawer slides cannot be seen at the side of the drawers. it is nicer and can easliy remove the drawers to clean your cabinet inside or take out anything that accidentally dropped inside your cabinets. They are stronger than side mounted slides. You can clean the drawers without using a vacuum or wet cloth. 6) Original 18 mm thickness door panel plywood (NOT 15 MM PLYWOOD USED BY MANY CARPENTERS). If you add the laminate thickness of 0.7 to 1.0 mm laminate plus your PVC/Polygon or HPL laminate inside. 7) All doors edges in good quality ABS edgings by Sunyu or LTS, the 2 largest and best edging companies in Singapore. Sunyu uses Doeken, one of the best German edgings in the world. All of the above specifications written ia a formal quotation and not just 1 line description quotation of "20 ft kitchen cabinet in ABS finish, in solid plywood for $xxx.". Put the specifications down on the contract so cannot dispute if they are not given when 90% of the money is in the ID or contractor bank account. All the above for kitchen, from items 1 to 7 for market rate of $100 to $120 per foot run with NO OTHER RENOVATION ITEMS TO SUBSIDIES THE KITCHEN. 'Andreja' please find me any company who can do that, i would be very please to see and recommend. So far, Lamidoor can do it. I am looking for more companies to compare and have more choices for my fellow forumers. I am only sharing a good offering from Lamidoor whilst 'Andreja' is just attacking without any alternative.
