oic. in fact your hob and hood should be delivered to you before the carcass is done so the carpenter that do the measurement can know how wide is your hob and hood in order for them to build the correct width on the carcass for the hob. the cutting of hole on carcass is a very simple job. hood will depend whether is chimney hood or slim hood, either they leave enough width the tight fit your hood or for slim type, they can bring back to factory to build the top cabinet and mount the hood in a way that it is flush nicely against the top cabinet with no ugly spacing on left, right and top.

My carpenter charge me per foot run (pfr), regardless of bottom cabinet, top cabinet or tall cabinet; counter top not included. Price different on the hardware, raw material and workmanship in making of the cabinet. These type of carpenters usually custom fit imported kitchen or build those sleek kitchens you see in some really-expensive custom build furniture showroom; they are able to produce workmanship and design that you cant find in normal carpenters. Of cos the price you pay is also premium. Some samurai carpenters will charge you separately, top cabinet slightly cheaper cos only half the depth of bottom cabinet but price is not half the price, tall cabinet the most expensive some as high as 3 times the price of bottom cabinet. Counter top also not included. Even got some reasonable carpenters charge top + bottom cabinet by per foot run (pfr) and tall cabinet separately. Of cos counter top is not included too.

Quartz is best material for kitchen counter top, the brand iQuartz is made in Singapore, limited colors, that why is cheaper. The most expensive is SilesStone and 2nd most expensive is CaesarStone.

Then choose iQuartz, they are cheap, i heard almost same price as Indian granite. They are still quartz (93% quartz and 7% bonding resin), nonporous, stain, scratch and heat resistant. Take my advise, you will 100% regret if you go for granite.

the next time i sell my house, the next owner most likely will not hack away my kitchen or any of my custom made furniture cos most people will not spent on my kind of quality and i dare say no other carpenter can produce the kind of workmanship on my custom made furniture. haha...

Dont be angry, it is standard for all custom made furniture. To get rid of the smell fast, first wipe with semi moist towel with mild detergent at all internal areas then wipe another time with dry towel, next leave all the doors and drawers open and use air cleaner in each room with them. You can get rid of the smell in a few days.

By right, all quartz top are made with 93% quartz with 7% bonding resin, it is suppose to be minimum maintenance, nonporous, stain, scratch and heat resistant. Get the most white in quartz, pour red wine, dark soy sauce, red chilli sauce over it and leave to to dry overnight, next day wipe if off with some cleaning agent, for stubborn stain, use the secret weapon. Best brand/quality in the market, in term of price (starting with most expensive) SilesStone (Made in Spain) CaesarStone (Made in Israel) Samsung (Made in Korea?) iQuartz (Made in Singapore)
