  1. It is probably more than reasonable. For my terrace, 3rd storey built-in about 2800, I hacked away and redo everything including the tiles, cabinets, electricals and false ceilings. The only things I've kept are wardrobes and parquet (though I will resand and revarnish). I've also spent some money on termite pest control and roof maintenance (including replacing yard roof extension). The above costs me about $100K. Hence for your case, I would say $120-$140K should suffice, unless you are going for really top notch materials.
  2. Just confirmed a quote yesterday to wash the roof tiles. Since I can't get a new roof like jumbopanther, at least I can get them looking like new
  3. Thanks. Will post more pics as more things take shape. Next week should be pretty exciting... Stay tuned...
  4. Today is a public holiday so I'd didn't expect anybody to be working. However the roofing and tiling guys were there. Mosaic wall centre piece for level 2 toilet. Flashing and waterproofing all done for level 3 toilet skylight. Bay window taking shape. It really makes the room feel a whole lot bigger
  5. You have to also make sure your family area has the necessary cable and/or telephone points for your phone, modem etc.
  6. No problem. PM you my mobile number. Call or text me to arrange when you want to come down.
  7. Thanks dude. Learnt something new today. In that case, think mine will pass
  8. I thought it should be at least 2m? That was what an agent told me previously.
  9. The extension was done by the previous owner. I had no idea how much that cost. It's about 1m from the wall. Think that's not legal but almost everyone is doing it there.
  10. Metal roof only for the yard extension. Rest of the house is tiled roof
  11. Even though it's a Sunday today, the waterproofing workers are still hard at work. They were there this morning to install the flashings on the toilet skylight and apply the silicone waterproofing. Hopefully I can now bathe with no worries during rainy days.
  12. ID said that the tile meant for the WC backing was out of stock. I had to go choose another piece. The original piece was something like a stone wall to fit the resort team we wanted for our toilet. After much choosing, we cannot find another to our likely and finally settled for this mosaic instead... Only problem is it cost $21 per sheet of 300x300!! And I need about 18 of those!
  13. More sneak previews of the toilets. Wife absolutely loves the mosaic. So happy I let her chose that. I needed a wall in the 2nd level toilet as my brother-in-law is pretty weak in one side of his body and walks with a gawk. He can hold on to the wall in case he falls in the toilet.
  14. Day 14 (18 Aug 2012) The waterproofing guys were already there when we arrived at 10am. Apparently they have been there since 8:30am! That's why happens when coordination between 2 parties conveniently assumed the timing. ID arrived soon after and he was very nice and agreed to tear down and redo the false ceiling. Though I must add the ceiling contractor looked stern throughout Waterproofing guys took some samples and went to buy the roof materials. The kaypoh us tagged along to choose the colour. Hahah. Well, we'd also need to make sure they've ordered the thicker one. For those keen, the place selling lots of roofs is Swan Swee construction at Senoko. Waterproofing guys hard at work Colour of the roof. In the end, we settled for a grey one.
  15. Yah, following your t-blog now. Hope that I will learn new things in case next time I need to upgrade to a semi-D.
  16. We are meeting our ID this morning to discuss about the false ceiling issue. Yesterday wife and I went down to take a more detailed look. I think we might need to get them to tear down and redo as we really dislike this wrong design. I am sorry if that's gonna incur more cost for the ID but I was pretty surprised they didn't detect this earlier even as they send me pictures of the reno progress everyday. The day before the false ceiling was up, I'd already think something wasn't right with the ceiling structure.
  17. My mailbox was full. Deleted away some messages. Please try again.
  18. 1.7k is quite a good price. How come you always seem to get the best deals? Lol. Can share the contact with me again? Thanks.
  19. How is that possible unless your toilet is not on the topmost floor?
  20. The utility must have been cut while the owner was doing his business halfway. Lol. Ain't you glad that pub had activated your water supply. Hahahaa
