  1. After cleaning the house like a mad person last night coz some friends are coming over tonight, i had to do it all over again cause my doors arrived! Front gate, black scissors gate! view of scissors gate from outside: Bedroom door, sliding metal door. And my OLENG sofa too! Am glad it's not too jarring, overall look still quite harmonious
  2. Thanks Kaylin, my kitchen floor drops a full 10cm from my living room floor, so the pipes/electrical wires are all ran under my tiles. Cannot imagine if got problem with it though....
  3. hai all the nice wide open spaces converted to carpark quite irritating..
  4. @may_dream: ya,,but making phone calls must be careful not to walk into that area..if not will get cut off!
  5. always easier to go a bit off the beaten track if staying along. Jus4fun, is 145 the 4 floor HDB flats? with the slanted roof?
  6. My outer living got no 3G......cham
  7. another 3 hours spent cleaning and cleaning the new place...back aching! still waiting for gate and door to come...sofa coming in tomorrow and the big shift is on Saturday! and i've yet to pack my stuff at my current place...lol picture of the place after cleaning..please excuse the can drinks...so thirsty and forgot to throw it away before taking pic.
  8. I think Edison light order from overseas is chepest.
  9. Wah 40w x 3.... I already find my 4w globe lights too bright....but I need extra down lights to light up the area when cooking.
  10. Not sure, I don't have completely naked light bulbs...but I am guessing they will be glaring if they are within line of sight, if above head should be ok I guess, my bulbs all have some sort of ball over it. The only exposed bulb is the one in my standing lamp, that one is an Edison bulb with tinted brown glass, not so glaring even though 25w. But if u are going to hang more than one naked bulb over dining table...then I would think better to have shade, if not will be super bright.
  11. Hmmm will get it sealed once every few years, thanks for the tip!
  12. secondary school autograph books, stuffed toys given to me...really faded photos..etc..not young liao...young how to buy own HDB flat..almost 40 already.
  13. @Mrs Loo: I also cannot tahan powdery feeling....as for storage, I'm living alone, so don't really have much to store, the 3 bookshelves should be able to hold all my books, my bed has storage underneath so I shall leave all my CDs/DVDs under it. Other than that, my whole island/dining table is a storage area, a lot of space underneath them. Vaccuum cleaner/ iron should be all left under my concrete bench once I find a nice box to put them in. I am guessing i really have to declutter and throw throw throw (i'm a bit of a hoarder..still got secondary school stuff with me..haha) @dragonite: yar..gotta hand scrub the floor. sigh. and sigh. I'm constantly handscrubbing my cement floors especially, now they feel much cleaner. @May_dream and tessina: Ya cement screed floor will feel powdery at first i think, but applying chemical layers on top should help. I've got 2 friends with cement screed floors, one floor always feels powdery coz no sealant, the other feels generally quite clean coz he applied 2 layers on top of his cement floor. Heng my cement floor area is for people to put on their shoes..hehe p/s: HOW to multiple reply? I've seen other people do it.
  14. Hey cjred, I have 3 of those, but i chose a super bright colour for the cord and felt they don't well with the look of the kitchen, so decided to go all black. I gave them to a good friend :_)
  15. Lol Mrs Loo, you even more on than me!!! But after yesterday's scrubbing, place feels cleaner....I think my cement walls need extra scrubbing.
  16. Yep it is...unfortunately the pipes are not compatible with local pipes...so i gotta modify it.
  17. 3rd last major item sent today...my granite top it finally here. I fancy it's a bit too reflective.... The Carysil sink, with a tap i ordered from Amazon..apparently the piping that comes with the faucet is not the same as the one normally used in Singapore.... contractor is now trying to rectify the issue.
  18. Thanks! Hai..going over after work to clean again today.....
  19. The red planks are ikea lack wall shelves, 1.90 m tall, can just put on floor instead if wall mount. But the shelves are only 30cm wide, not sure enough to out consoles or not.
  20. Been cleaning and cleaning the house for past 2 days.... Still feels dirty...ugh. Any suggestions ? Or is that normal?
  21. Haha but that is a good idea leh....instead of now having to leave it in one of the drawers.... The table is the Bludot Cant. I got it at grafunkt, but apparently pomelo carries it too, so can ask them. It's pretty stable, but I have yet to put my big *** computer on it.
  22. Almost..all that is left is decoration...which is also a big headache! Anyway I love the haiku fan, it's silent and powerful...I use it all the time instead of the aircon when I am over. However, my aunt who has a higher end kdk fan said that works well too. I guess advantage of haiku would be the energy saving feature and aesthetics. And no wobbling...at least not for now
  23. Thanks!! I also got the ikea lack coffee table...that one s SHINY red....pop even more...but I think too much pop liao
