Hello, I got them from Hock Siong, the very popular second hand shop. I bought three out of five tags there. Not sure if the remaining two are still there.

The furniture maker requested that I go down to the workshop to see if the colour of the wood stain is ok. So I went down just now. My table top is sooo gorgeous !! It looks sooo much better than I had imagined!! The white part, which is the bark of the tree, will be stained darker. The table will be ready tomorrow or Wednesday! It weighs about 20kg now without the cast iron legs. With the legs, I'm sure it weighs like an elephant! I can't wait for it to be delivered! It's well worth the effort I took to get it custom made. The aunty has a lot of pride in her work and she was admiring and touching the table and saying 'very nice' in Cantonese to me. The workmanship is very good as she and her husband have been doing this all their lives. With my limited Cantonese, I could only say a simple thank you to her. I think I have been really lucky to have found good people to help create my dream home. My ID, my carpenter and my furniture maker are really first class! :)

Nice lights! I changed my mind about my lights a couple of times! Better get it right than live with the wrong choices..

it's the last day of June and I stumbled upon some treasures! I call them 'Tiffany' accessories for my kitchen! they are actually beverage tags meant to be hooked round big beverage dispensers during parties. When I saw them in the shop, they were very dirty and tarnished. No one gave them a second look. The salesman offered to polish them for me and within minutes, they turned into these shiny, pretty tags! :) Also bought some sets of these bowl and plate. Think they should look nice on my wooden table...which should be ready next week...fingers crossed!

My new oven is here today! it's a steam oven with a vapour outlet at the top. I will need to pull out the cabinet tray when using the oven. I'm using Blum tracks for the tray which can hold 60kg - the size of a petite adult! So no worry that the tray will collapse.

Hi, I think your mailbox is full. The msg didn't go through

Some friends dropped by tonight after dinner to look at the renovation even though my place is still very empty as my furnishings are not in. The kitchen is about 60% furnished but the hood and hob are still covered up due to the final touch up next week. Some stuff in this picture were bought today just hours before dinner and hastily put together to 'fool' my unsuspecting guests! And I'm most pleased with this vintage fan which is often out of stock. I grabbed the display set last night or else i will have to wait till god knows when. After the guests left, everything was covered again just in case the place gets dirty during touch up and I got to enjoy my tea in the dim lights.

too late! They have already gone off. I have no idea what's the colour of the silicon... In fact until now, Im still not very sure how to open or close the door.

Hey Silvergorilla! I found this at Best Denki Bishan today but it was out of stock. The salesman said they only had the display set which they took out from the store about one week ago. I couldn't care so much and bought it right away ! This vintage model is always out of stock... So I'm really lucky today !

Oh, I forgot to say that another reason why I'm rushing is bcos I need to steal my ID's paint and tools for my DIY stuff before he packs up and leave. I think he also took my black spray paint for his project.. Hahahah!

Today was simply madness!! it was a whirlwind of activities from morning till night. My young aircon installer from Gain City came over in the morning to 'investigate' the complaint on aircon pipe by HDB. What happened was that a HDB officer came to conduct post-Reno inspection last week and said that the aircon pipe that jutted out through the exterior of the wall was a potential killer litter and insisted that I asked the Gain City installer to come back to remove it. But the problem is the pipe was left behind by the very first flat owner and I'm not using it for my aircon. So it's not really Gain City's problem. Here's the disputed pipe anyway, Gain City was really nice to despatch the same young guy who did my aircon installation. I w as really glad to see him bcos he did a very good job installing my aircon. He told me he would settle the problem for me and shortly after saying that, he jumped out of my MBR window!! I got a shock and screamed!! but he was totally unfazed. While standing precariously on my ledge, he slowly pulled out his safety belt and attached it to the aircon bracket. With one hand holding on to my window grilles, he used the other hand to pull out the pipe and passed it to me. I told him to quickly come back in but he said he will use silicon to fill up the hole. I was really on the verge of freaking out! My mom who was with me told me to stop screaming or else he might really fall off the ledge! Hahahaha. Anyway, my White PD doors are in and that's the last major item in this reno. ID dropped by to do the finishing touches to the tv console and then dashed off for his wedding preparations. And I was rushing to decorate my kitchen before Wednesday when my friends will visit my place, not for housewarming but to see the progress of my Reno. so it was a rush, rush day for everyone!! I also took almost five hours to singlehandedly sweep, vacuum and mop the whole flat. I was totally exhausted and terribly dirty at the end of it! And the worse thing is the floor doesn't seem sqeaky clean. No wonder people have been telling me that it takes a few rounds of cleaning before the place is finally clean. tomorrow will be another busy day. I better check on the status of my customised dining table..bcos my dining lights are looking way too lonely ID dropped by to do the finishing touches to the tv console and then dashed off for his wedding preparations. No, they are made of wood from Ikea, i saw one made of powdercoated metal in CB2 but the dimensions were not right
-
Thanks! You even remember the month and year! I doubt they have it now.. In fact, I think the current range of fans is very limited.

Hi, can share where you bought the rustic looking standing fan in your living room?

Distressing of clock (con't)... Painted some 'rust' on the clock.. And some 'scratches' too...

Got cooped up at home today bcos of the haze and decided to get my hands dirty. i took a brand new clock which I bought recently and tried to paint it over to give it an aged, vintage look. Here's the brand new clock. The face was rubbed with some brown paint and given a dirty, worn out look The same was done to the rim of the clock.. I think it can still look a bit more aged.... More work need this weekend...

For air purifiers, you should buy honeywell, which is clinical grade and used in clinics and hospitals. I'm asthmatic and honeywell was recommended by my doc. I bought it from the spore distributor some years back and it was 400 plus I think. But I know a number of forummers bought from amazon which is cheaper but u need a transformer . You can check kim76's blog. Hope this helps !
