  1. Hi, I'm doing my house renovation currently. My contractor is charging the following rates for his electrician, which I think is a tad expensive. concealed point - $100 perexposed point - $35 perinstallation of light - $20 perinstallation of fan - $45 perHe's charging me the $35 and the $20 for each LED downlight (lights not included) in my false ceiling and L-boxes. That's $55 per light, and I've got 20 lights! If you can recommend an electrician OR are an electrician yourself, do PM me with your rates for the above items. Or if you are a renovation customer yourself and your rates are the same as mine, do let me know as well. Regards, RenoJoe.
  2. Hi howly, Could you PM me the contact for the Blum-lookalike and the hardware store where you got 80% of the stuff for your house? Thanks!
  3. Hi surfcast, can PM me your PE contact? My contractor whacking me for $1200. You're my hero!
  4. Hi all, I just got the keys to my house and am starting to shop around for a good contractor. I got a quote from a contractor that I kinda like, but I feel the quote is a little ex. Wanted the forum opinion. Laying of tiles for living area and bedroom, 500sqft for $5000 which is inclusive of tiles, labour and transport. Tiles alone only cost $2.50psf. Is this too much for labour + transport? 10mm clear tempered glass shower screen in toilet (no door, just a kerb for doorway), $600. It's just a piece of glass, no sliding door or anything of the sort. Too ex? 25ft of kitchen cabinet in laminate finish, $5000. That's $200 per foot run. Too ex? 20ft of quartz kitchen worktop, $2400. That's $120 per foot run. Too ex? There's more to list which I find questionable, but that's all I have right now... Appreciate all input!
