  1. How is your laminate floor? Did the Kronotex fella tell you why the gap is so big? I used to hv laminate flooring by Pergo, and had a gaps at that area too for expansion. but I don't remember the gap being so obvious. Hope they can rectify for you.
  2. Congrats. Your Reno is coming along beautifully and near completion. Love your tiles combi for your bathrooms. And your JR is sssooo cute. She looks happy & excited over her new home too.
  3. Hahah... That will be petssss in the plural. Cos I have 3 hamsters too. Just gave my fishes away cos no time to take care of them. It was a 1.5m tank with 7 angel fishes and a few Congo tetras.
  4. Thanks for liking my theme. I've grown to like this style slowly over the years, especially during my years in Australia. Cos this style is very common & popular there. You're not too far from me... I'm at the Central side. I went to your side to look at some units before. The EM's there are slightly bigger but we prefer to be nearer MRT. We too lazy to walk more then 5-mins to MRT & amenities. Hehheeh. Thanks. French style should be ok with dogs bah. I have a Maltese. But to accommodate her, I will use homo tiles instead of hard wood or laminates. In case of accidental pee and her nails cannot scratch it. Now she is already about 5-yrs, so no more marking or biting of furniture. If she does, she will get a spanking from me. So far, she's everyday in my current French kitchen and no issues. she's a good gal. Pretty laid back and seldom barks.
  5. Your reno is progressing well. Love your fans. They look so unique and is nice too. For the metals bars hanging down, will you be having carpentry works to conceal them? Or using dry walls?
  6. I'll be using a main contractor for the major reno works and then a separate carpenter that specializes in French style furniture for the wood work. Have used these 2 before for my mini condo reno, so I'm comfortable with their work quality. Now is just a matter of bargaining the price, to bring it to a more comfortable level.
  7. Hi Heavenly, Love your nick. heheh. Your place looks fab!! Especially your faux fireplace (as bookshelf) and your balcony bar counter is awesome! Hope my reno will be as nice as yours. Btw, can share where you got your sofa from? Its really nice. Does the store have lots of French inspired furniture? Am keen to go down and browse.
  8. Wow!! Thanks. Nice inspiration ideas. I'm going to download the app now. Yeah!
  9. I just visited your blog and am drooling over your gold bathroom accessories. OMG!!! Though I'm doing a Victorian French style, I gotta be careful not to over do it and make it too feminine as I have to think of my hub. Too much floral and lace will be a 'no-no'. So we are sticking to more neutral tones of whites, beige, silvers and deep browns. In addition, I'll be putting some modern touches here & there, so the place will not be those complete traditional neo-classical style. Hopefully I can carry off this theme well.
  10. Wow!! What a bling bling home. Love your Swarovski crystal lights. And your gold toilet accessories. OMG!!! This is my first time seeing such an opulent bathroom.
  11. Hahah... thanks. But reno won't start till about 1st week of June. Hope my updates on items I've purchased or quotes from contractor are not too boring.
  12. Love love your cafe curtains. Can share where you got them? Think I might hv missed your posting on it. Don't mind if I also use this idea? Thinking of putting them at my kitchen windows.
  13. Hi Spikedoll, Thanks. I love the layout & space of your EM. Especially the space for your living & dining area. It is huge in comparison to mine. I was initially looking for EM in Bishan. But the high COV there is scary. Love the marble effect tiles for your common bath. Nice!! Learning lots form your blog too. Can't wait to see more progress pics & updates.
  14. Thanks. I'll go look into their website. Meanwhile, my contractor is recommending me to use mirror panels instead of louvre panels. Thanks summersann. I'm following your blog and learning lots from it too. I especially love your storage under the stairs and the cafe curtains. Great ideas.
  15. My contractor just called me. He said the wooden bi-fold doors with louvre that I wanted for the 3 bathrooms are super expensive. It's about $800 including the frame. He recommend me to get normal wooden swing doors. But I scared the space at the door opening is too squeeze for swing doors. So now I'm thinking of getting PD doors. Anyone here knows if PD doors have the louvre design?
  16. Thanks HappyAng. Yes yes.... Me praying that the Reno will go smooth smooth. I see your house Reno coming along nicely. Can't wait to see more pics of your Reno progress.
  17. Oh... Thanks for the tip. I will try to make a request to complete in 6-weeks. At the moment, I have informed my contractor to stand-by to start Reno on 1st June. Will post more pics once Reno starts. For now, just posting things that I'm buying or inspirational ideas. Heheh.
  18. Yes... I love all things white. Especially for my new home. There will be white cabinets (kitchen, bedrooms, living areas), white walls, white doors, white ceilings, white cornices, etc. The only colors will come from the curtains, sofa, pictures and other knick knacks. Guess after so many years of living with dark woods in modern contemporary homes, I just can't wait for a total change. Lets hope I am able to carry off this theme well enough given the constraints I face. So if anyone has any advise or pointers, pls do post here. Thanks in advance.
  19. MATTRESS SHOPPING Boy did we have fun lying and rolling on all the mattresses. Went to IMM & Robinsons and tried out as many as we could - Serta, Sealy, Simmons, Maxcoil, King Koil, Tempur and Omazz. After all the bouncing around, we shortlisted down to our 2 favorites - Serta Diamond Suite and Omazz. As we needed to get 3x Single matress and 1x Queen bed, we capped our budget at $8K. Yes... our 3 gals will finally get their own comfy mattresses so that they will stop sneaking in and sleeping with daddy & mommy. Lol. A good thing about shopping for so many mattresses at one go, the salespeople all work very hard to give us extra perks and discounts on top of the regular ones. In the end.... *drumroll*... we picked.... OMAZZ! Our choice: Queen Bed -- Frank Royal (3 layer full latex mattress) Single Beds (x3) -- Fuller (3" latex top mattress with spring bottom)
  20. Went shopping over the weekend and popped by Ecolinks at Park Mall. Saw this 4 poster bed with matching bedside tables, fell in love and immediately paid deposit as it is on offer. The bed and tables will match my theme perfectly.
  21. Hi HappyAng, Yes yes... I hope can get 6-weeks completion, but cos I'm taking bank loan, I'm told to be prepared for 8-weeks. Yah... will be doing major reno. Have spoken to the seller and they are willing to help me sign the indemnity form first. So I can start immediately once 2nd appointment done. Yippee!!!
  22. Thanks!! I'm currently in CCK area. So hopefully we can adjust fast to staying in BB. But I love the CSC there, especially the pool - like mini wild wild wet. hehehe.
