  1. Option 2 looks like some ancient Chinese decor that you will see in movies.... Nice... A bold move if you go for that...
  2. I changed my front door too... The 3 bedroom doors and fire rated front door are from yontat... Quite famous on renotalk but their schedule is quite packed. I waited for almost 4 weeks for the installation. However, the wait is worth it. Price is about 1500 for all doors. As for the toilet door, it is from pd door, about 300plus... Workmanship so so..... 😊
  3. I signed up with my republic during the last IT show and opennet came to install the point for me and my republic completed the installation the following week. Maybe, need the service provider to boon a slot with them to speed up the waiting time?
  4. That is my initial concern too. The main water contributor will be from the hand shower located just beside it... Thus, I am thinking of putting up a thin veil, something you see in the Japanese bath to act as a shower curtain.... I have put a rubber stopper for all my wheels...
  5. Thanks... This is not my idea but was copied from some magazine. I even see some people put a bicycle in the bathroom haha... I think everything is possible...
  6. Wow... I like the choice of colors... Really making a bold statement... Too bad, my wifey doesn't like too many colors. So, in the end, all white rooms except MBR which is green and living room blue. I wanted orange too for my other 2 bed rooms but was rejected right away...
  7. He has nothing to say other than a sigh of relief as I had been delaying the installation due to the taps.. Haha..... Actually my ID told me that all the uncles are quite skeptical about the house design😀... Why use concrete as the base for the sink, why cement screed the kitchen, why this, why that haha...
  8. My black and white common toilet. Just love the simplicity of the sewing machine vanity... However, my common is really very small.... So the vanity is really close to the shower area... I will partition the area using a thin shower curtain 😀
  9. I mean the cardboard with lines on the underneath side that is in contact with the tiles. Just to make myself clear. 😀
  10. Just a gentle reminder. Do be careful with the cardboard, make sure it is not lines as the lines will imprint onto the tiles, especially the workers have to walk in and out of the house everyday. This happened to some of my tiles and as a result, I need to get them changed. However, my tiles are majority white in color.
  11. Yup it is a toy carrot... The bunny can only eat hay and pellet now... On the ikea cabinet front, the material is only so so since much of the cost goes to the Blum accessories. I only go for the side cabinet as my wifey wanted more storage... I won't dare to take the entire kitchen set. However, some if the storage idea can be considered such as the corner pull out drawer.
  12. The new tenant that moved in with us (but not paying rental 😥)
  13. My kitchen, without all the clutters... @makanology, my new cabinet is on the left of my fridge... Actually, the cabinet directly on top of my sink is also from ikea... 😀 slowly transformed to an ikea kitchen...
  14. My compressor was installed outside the master bedroom. The pipe to release the condensed water is situated in MBR toilet (grey pipe). The blue lines represent the air con line and green box represent the air con position. The air con piping is are not visible as the MBR piping is blocked by my wardrobe, only a small portion is visible in my living room but is covered by my sofa and my tv console. (A portion is sticking out from my brick wall and a portion of it is sticking out on the blue wall) as majority of it is resided in the recess area underneath my window which is covered up by plaster board. The air con lines in bedroom 2 and 3 is a horizontal line across both rooms on the top, just underneath the beam... However, the air con installer did mention there is a problem (can't remember he exact detail) if I install air con for both rooms with this type of piping layout. I believe it is something related to water condensation... But I told him that air con will only be installed in bedroom 3 and not bedroom 2... Hope this helps 😀
  15. Yes. DHL lost my parcel 😭... To make matter worse, I waited for 2 months for my items... The reason is Deutschland post had bought over DHL in Germany... So, the items are shipped by Deutschland post and not by DHL express that we normally associated DHL with. Thus, Insani can offered such attractive shipping rate as it is shipped by local post office and not really by DHL... The local post office will then shipped it out and will be delivery to your home by local post office, speed post... Therefore, if you buy from Insani, they will provide you with a tracking number that can only be used on DHL paket which is Germany Deutschland post and not DHL express. Haiz, so is really hang suay if you buy online...
  16. Thanks... I am just sharing my renovation experience 😊. The taobao link : http://h5.m.taobao.com/awp/core/detail.htm?id=17785399330&show_id=1&pds=fromtop%23h%23shop Just to note, the shade that I received is slightly loose but still able to sit nicely on the stand after some minor adjustments... Overall, it is quite nicely built.... PS: I preferred the metal shade which looks like those used in shooting movie but my wifey preferred this type and I lost in the duel of scissor, paper, stone. So no choice, I bought this instead...
  17. Today, Insani sent me an email and informed me that DHL has declared my package is lost and would compensate for the loss up to 500 euro which is the insurance coverage. Luckily, my purchase is less than 500 euro... Phew.... So, now, hopefully no more hiccup for the refund... On a happier note, the installer for my kitchen cabinet that we bought from ikea will fix it up tomorrow. So looking forward to it. My wifey wanted a pull out drawer that allows her to keep all her kitchen barang barang.... Once the spoilt kitchen light is replaced, my reno journey will be completed. In fact, my wifey and I had been staying over at my new place for the past 2 days... The feeling is really special as the bed is really comfy..... Haha Will take more pics of the done up place 😃
  18. The poster is already about 2-3 rows below my clock... Hmmm... Maybe I will hang another poster slightly higher??? As for the living room light and fan distance, I am not quite sure about that as I never really measure the distance. Just hang it up by my electrician and make it it doesn't hit my L-box will do.... 😃 as for the shadow aka disco effect, nope, we don't experience that in the house and the cove light is really more than enough for my living room
  19. So, I finally started to decor the house a little bit Hang the life of Pi drawing onto the brick wall... I just feel the height is too low but my wifey thinks it is perfect. What do you guys think? My "hope" coasters are finally here.... Already started to serve their purpose😀
  20. After such a long waiting time, I finally get all my taps up except the bathroom faucet, which should be changed by tomorrow.... The plumber dropped me 2 bombshell yesterday and was afraid that the Reno might drag on.. 1. The thread size for my bathroom faucet is too small. The plumber tried to search for a connector at sim siang choon but to no avail. Luckily, I remembered I came across a thread in this forum on the shop that sells the type of connector. I am really grateful for all the information shared in this forum... Many thanks... 2. Then came another bombshell, this time round is the kitchen tap. The plumber claimed that this is the first time he saw a tap with 5 lines attached to it. Then I explained to him that 3 of the lines are for the filter that comes with the tap. However, he was not confident to proceed with the installation. So I took up the challenge to link up the filter after looking at the manual and it seems pretty easy to me. 😀 However, it still took me 1 hour plus to connect the filter to the tap. The plumber was kind enough to connect the kitchen tap to the main water supply for me but he mistaken the red and blue indicators as inlet and outlet. Phew... So all things are settled, just need to wait for my spoilt kitchen light to be replaced and all is done!
  21. Really thanks for the info... My plumber told me that the kraus faucet I bought from Amazon cannot be installed as the thread size is smaller He went to Sim siang Choon but could not find the right connector... Then I remembered this thread and went down to the shop today and manage to get he connector...
  22. Here you go: http://h5.m.taobao.com/awp/core/detail.htm?id=9036804826&sid=7f714f4b60f274b4&pds=fromtop%23h%23shop
  23. Insani yes because the minimum shipping weight is 5Kg at 95 euro. But ice price starting shipping weight is 15kg at 199 euro, so saving is very little if you don't buy much. Unless the type of taps or shower set that you want to buy is of the higher end series, hansgrohe should be raindance series and grohe should be quadra series, the saving will not be very substantial since some local vendor do have package deals. Do compare price first before buying and also, do note on the risk of delay shipment.
