Hahahaha! Your round-edged base is done much professionally than mine. Mine look like a chip off the corner. Good effort from your renovator! P.S.: Your photography skills are good, showing exactly what you want us to see and know. Give yourself a pat on the shoulder! Yeahhh!
-
Very gorgeous 3D design! Hope that your renovated place will look exactly the same! Cheers!
-
Don't mention it! Those are very well-taken pictures! Yup, I agree with you. Be it condo or HDB, all the new designs have very small rooms but the prices are ever-increasing. We are paying for smaller spaces.

Vincent numbers are Nine-Three-Eight-Four-Nine-Two-Two-Eight. I have not given him a call yet, so those who called and have curtains/blinds installed please share your experience with me. Cheers!
-
Hi swaskie! Thanks a great deal for the numbers. Yeah, I might visit his showroom because I'm kind of picky on design (i admit that, hahahaha...) Anyway how's the quality of the blinds? As of now still performing and looking great?
-
Hi swaskie, You are definitely right on this. I had arranged for a meeting with the ID and carpenter yesterday and we managed to sort out several renovation issues and details on the spot. Although it was a 2-hour long session, it was totally worth the time as face-to-face communication on the job-site is much easier and efficient than talking on the phone. Haha! Yeah! I'm going down to my house again this evening to see if the lads are working today. Hahahaha!

Hey TWTOwner! Welcome to RT! You're right about the selection of ID! Lowest price doesn't mean the best. I have also chosen an ID whose quote is not the lowest because I felt that workmanship and quality are much important factor in the renovation. Anyway hope you'll have a smooth reno journey! Looking forward to seeing pictures from you! Cheers!

Noooooooooo... Please remember me as the guy who subsequently make a U-turn on my statement by commenting that both sharp and round edged bases have their advantages and disadvantages! Hahaha! Anyway looking forward to seeing more photos of your house in your T-blog. Rest assured I won't comment on the sharp base. Ha! Yeah, have a fantastic weekend too!

Hey yo morning! Thanks for sharing the pictures! To be honest, both the 3D & actual pictures of your house are equally gorgeous! I love the striking white colour of your living hall, coupled with your light-coloured furnitures, makes the whole area looks spacious and magnificent! In addition, the design of your white wardrobe (with the shelves) brought out a sophisticated yet elegant "feel" to your bedroom, which makes me wonder if I should have something similar, hahaha.. As for the kitchen, it does look strikingly different from the layout of the 3D pic but from what I see, the workmanship is superb and the colour selection for your cabinets blend well with your black granite top. I doubt mine will look better than yours but I'm really looking forward to seeing the final product. Hope that 3D Innovative Design can provide a similar workmanship like yours to my house. Haha! Have an awesome weekend dude! I'm dropping by my house later to discuss the renovation details with my ID and the carpenter. Maybe I will show them your pictures and say, "I want a top-notch quality like my friend's house here." Hahaha! Cheers!

Hahahaha! Chill Chill. Just kidding. Both round and sharp edges have its advantages and disadvantages. Hahahahaha!
-
Lol! You wouldn't say it looks nicer with your concept when your little toe hit the sharp edges, you will scold A to Z at it. Hahahaha! Anyway I'm not cursing you but I think round edges might be better, in the event if you have small kids or plan to have kids. Ha!

Hey fellow Punggolian! Welcome you to RT (sorry I'm a month behind time) and to Punggol too! Regarding your question, I think normally ID will take about 1 week or at most 2 weeks to get back to you after the first or second meeting. If they take more than 3 weeks, I supposed they are not interested in taking up your job and do not have the professionalism to inform you. That's my personal opinion. I see that you are in the stage of seeking an ID for your upcoming home, so I wish you all the best. Finding a suitable ID with a competitive quote is a headache but you will have an easier time after the selection process because you can 'dump' everything to him/her. Hahaha! Good luck to the collection of your keys and upcoming renovation! Have a pleasant weekend! Cheers!

Yup, maybe rounding of edges is a safe feature for all the renovations. I guess there must be plenty of complains in the past where homeowners accidentally cut their toes, so ID firms automatically added these into the renovation and we benefited from these. Lol.. Ha! Your renovation is progressing so fast and furious, so if you want to change the wall colour, better inform your ID asap. I heard from my ID that "sandstone" colour is being selected as the renovation colour of the year for 2012 in Singapore. Not exactly sure how true is that statement but he highlighted that if I want to give a cozy & modern feel to my house, I definitely won't go wrong with "sandstone" colour, which I agree. Perhaps you can find out from your ID what he think of this colour.
-
Lol! Your conspiracy maybe right! We might be having the same ID who changed his name to hide his true identity! Hahahaha! Yeah, I guess having the same ID firm produces the same 'pattern'. I'm not so sure about other interior design firms but perhaps rounding of edges is a safety feature for all the renovations done by our ID firm. Thanks thanks! I look forward to your pictures!
-
Hey edd! Thanks! Yup, I understand that the actual appearance of the house will always be darker than the 3D pics as the 3D pics are always created to give a gorgeous proposition of the final layout. Ha! Ohhh.. So you have also chosen sandstone colour for your wall? In my opinion, this is the best colour for living room as it produces a warmly feeling to the home. My parents are quite conventional, so I have to accommodate to their request to paint majority of the living hall white and retained just a side of the wall as sandstone colour. If I can have it my way, my living room might be the same colour as yours! Hahahaha!
-
Wahahahahaha! Thanks to you, I just realised it's a round edge! Guess the ID took his initiative to reduce the sharp edges around the base. +10 points to him! Yup, you are right, the feature wall does give my living hall a much formal presentation. But I had taken out the feature wall in my first meet-up with him so as to reduce the renovation cost. One TV feature wall and console will take a few grands off my bankbook, so I decided to make my bankbook slightly happier and keep the wall simple. Not sure if that's a right move.
-
In addition to those feedbacks about the renovation, I also requested from him the revised 3D drawing of my living hall, which was promised to be given to me on Tuesday morning but yet delayed again. He immediately apologized and sent them to me within 10 minutes. Guess pitching my tone in a serious manner does help speed up processes. Hahahaha! This is the revised 3D drawing. Colour of the walls has been rectified to reflect the right combination and colour of the furnitures have also been altered for me to visualise how well dark furniture colours mixed with sandstone/light grey coloured wall. Ladies & Gentlemen, any comments? P.S.: I'm not doing any feature wall for the living hall, so it's just a plain wall with TV and TV console there. Ha!

15th May 2013 According to the renovation schedule, ceiling/partition and painting works should be completed by this week. As Mr. ID does not like to provide updates to me, I have to take things into my "feet" and hence, I dropped by my house after work to check on the renovation progress. I had already expected a slight delay but I was dismayed when I realized that the renovation was behind schedule for two weeks! Without delay, I gave him a ring and told him that the progress is wayyyyyy too slow. He immediately explained that this was caused by the delay of the 3D drawings, hence he can't proceed to purchase the paint for the painting job. He reassured me that the ceiling and painting works will be wrapped up by this weekend without compromising of workmanship. Guess I need to make myself available this Sunday to monitor the progress again. Photos.... 1) Concrete kitchen cabinet and fridge bases constructed 2) Concrete cabinet base on the opposite side of the kitchen 3) Concrete washing machine base constructed at the service yard 4) Concrete shower kerb in one of the toilets 5) Running of electrical wires for lighting points in the living/dining hall

One of the reason I have chosen them as my renovation partner is because they are "GST-free". I can't imagine myself paying few thousand dollars without seeing "additional items" in the house. Hahaha! I'm also wondering how a big company like them are non-GST registered but well, it's none of my concern, because I benefited from this! Cheers to our pockets!
-
Hey don't say that please, your experience is valuable to me. I totally understand what you are trying to say. I have gone to my house last night and realised that the renovation work is far behind schedule and the position of some of the electrical points are not right, so I gave him a call to highlight these issues. He sounded like he doesn't know the progress of the renovation, but counter-offer to me that he will drop by this weekend to monitor the progress. I will remind him again this weekend to regularly update me on the renovation. Ha!

OMG! I had the same problem as you! The Gain City technician who fixed my air-con trunking claim that this is the best they can do but ended up my MBR air-con trunking looks very ugly. You managed to find any solutions? If yes, please share with me too.
-
Tell you a secret, they are gonna be GST-registered company soon. Hahaha! I'm so glad that I signed with them before their GST registration. Yes, I agreed with you on the 5 years warranty and the affordable quotation. They don't anyhow charge their prices and to be honest, I think the prices are much better than some of the quotes I received. As for the workmanship, I will update in my T-blog after they install the wardrobes, cabinets etc. @edd: Apologies for vandalizing your T-blog to give some rare compliments to my ID firm. I shall hand this back to you. More pics please.

Awesome piece of news! I'm getting mine this Saturday, can't wait to hug those crystal lights. Ha!

Hey lawrenceke! Thanks for the information! I have bought majority of my electrical appliances, I will definitely visit Mega Discount Store if I have any additional items. Otherwise I can always look at my sister's boyfriend and smile like this -> Hahaha!

Ran away?! I guess I gonna bomb my ID's hp every 30 minutes to ensure that he won't run away with my money! Hahahaha! Just kidding man. I'm not gonna be a pest to him. As long as he's doing the renovation well, even if there's not much update, it's perfectly fine with me. Hahaha!
