My hubby juz went to a tile shop at Tai Seng Ave. He said that indian granite 1 feet is only $28! dunno how true. Cos most of the contractors quoted $90-$100...

I read from other forum abt Cost of clearing of debris and haulage The standard cost for clearing of debris and haulage is always at the cost of $215 inclusive of GST. Do not be surprised when contractor quote you more than $500 and do not get convinced by them when they told you the reason why it is so expensive. Some contractor will tends to tell you that they have rented a lorry to collect debris, this is not true. The lorry is provided by HDB who will do the clearing up. The contractor only needs to pay them $215 and everything will be done properly. Reason: HDB pay outsiders to do the clearing and this is liaise with the contractor and the HDB third party, when only a single receipt will be given.

What is the cost of polishing compressed stone? One of my contractors quote me $2200! Mine is a 5 rm 122sqm flat...

I can say e lines are close to perfect, do not know if need to polish or just acid wash will do? cos the tiles look very "mong" I think older ppl like this kinda tiles, for young generation like white homo tiles. But with this tiles, my paint color for study room & bedroom seems dun match with the tiles... but already painted liao... haha...

My new flat is compressed stone too left by previous owner so dun intend to hack away, one of the contractor who came to my hse called it compressed marble... Accordingly to him, is man made & the colors are more even than marble, can chemical wash. There are no grouting lines. But cos the flat was vacant for 3 years, so need to polish. I will take pictures & post when i go to my new hse this weekend.

Cos i suppose the tiles are there since the blocks are built... Still thinking whether to hack or not...
