  1. jus look at how Singapore has been progressing and benchmark against them, you will get the answer why they are the way they are : ) also take a simple math calculation of the ratio of various ethnic groups in that force, again, you will get the answer : ) it is friday dude......go chill out
  2. it is time they install Circuit camera's at e carpark and roof garden. the MSCP at my current place has the camera and is a very good deterent for acts of vandals as these cameras are placed very strategically.
  3. well its like that, i jus cannot comprehend the behaviour of these junior members of our society...assuming one day they get sick n tired of the MSCP garden, they prob start vandalizing vehicles in the carpark....this starts to get me worried
  4. guess hacking is one thing, the other main consideration factor could be $$ to hack versus overlaying right? unless there are other reasons to hack vs overlay that i have overlooked? (i.e. reliability of the overlay, etc)
  5. were you given permit to hack the floor tiles? tot it is disallowed ? anyway your neighbour below is a very unreasonable neighbour (pardon the directness), being a new block, how could they expect sernity in the day? did their unit not create any noise during their renovation? i would have just told them to report to police/hdb about the noise as long as i did not flout any rules....
  6. pardon my ignorance but the "electrical appliance" in the picture is a hot water storage heater or just an instant water heater?
  7. IMO if we wanna benchmark, we should always benchmark against the best so that we know where to improve....if we benchmark backwards, we will always be resting on our laurels leow : ) think we including me been going way off topic.... we should be talkin about the neighbourhood again. coming back to the topic on the gate hinges, i went around looking at my old housing estate and realise that all the gates have the same concept, either a rivet at the top/bottom and welded, elses its a bolt/nut combo with some weld too.... thus i guess the ease of break-in has nothing much to do with the design but probably the sheer peacefullness of the blocks which are yet to be appropraitely occupied that lead to such break-in's i will try to take some pixs over the weekend
  8. let me add on to along the same line... hope we wont get into trouble with our diverse discussion manz : ) i have been regularly to countries where whites reside, i.e. Australia, USA, etc..... the authorithy the police commands as well as the respect they command is something totally different from Asia. The mentality held by the police/sheriffs are also vast apart from here in Singapore. They have pride and feel that they are the best and it is their duty and due diligence to perform any form of service to ensure the town/suburb/county/estate is at peace. whereas here, it is more like a job and if i can do less, why not, and i agree that calling for their service would render at least a 15min response even if they are only 1min away, not sure what form of "make-up" they require before they stroll out of their kiosks. which crook will allow you a 15min interval yet be there for you to play hide and seek....actually more can be expressed but i rest the case here to avoid Racial Disharmony
  9. wat car was tat? at 13k for 2yr old, could have told me i buy over
  10. seems like they are operating like a privatised service provider more then a national fed solutions provider.... i also got a tix from them more then 10yrs ago, before the market got upgraded and i was eagerly q'ing for "Fried Carrot Cake" from the old manz....anyway his standard cmi these days leow & the tix was S$70
  11. wah this i despise manz, targetting on the old/weak/frail. terrible..... anyway seems like a high risk environment.....whats our dear men in blue doing especially since they are only across a street?
  12. wah manz, after reading the updates, kinds of gives me the scare about the neighbourhood. is e neighbourhood really tat unsafe or just because of so much work going on, thats why some opportunist takes their chances. btw anyone knows for such break-in, what were the loot like?
  13. well, imo even at S$520psf 99years leasehold condominum is overpriced, you need luck to even breakeven when you wanna sell, especially if it is at a location like SengKang/Buangkok. a decent size, i.e. 1200sqft would be avg 620K minimum, upside is really limited, there are but very rarely are there any 99yr leasehold condominum aparments making money after the lease starts the countdown, so think carefully, do not fall in the "luxury" trap
  14. wat is e price of the PLC (consisting of Osram + Atco)...care to give e breakdown leadin to e total price?
  15. was reading through this thread and thought it be good to give me thoughts on Darwin Interior. years ago, i took up the 20ft kitchen cabinet only package for S$1k (estimate, cannot remember leow), initially having skeptism on the workmanship, quality and even on the price, like how could they offer this price to a customer who does nothing from them except cabinet, anyway went ahead with the deal. it all turned out fine and great.....few years later, 20ft kitchen cabinet still standing and hanging. all hinges intact, laminates intact, nothing has degraded nor worn over these years, in fact, the dish rack provided is much better then what you can get from IKEA, at least the Stainless steel grade provided is sufficient to withstand the mild detergent residue, water stains and mainly no RUST. end of the day, the material from every company is prob the same, it is the group of workers who come in to customise the small dimensions to get the cabinets to fit that make a difference. for me, absolutely no regrets : )
  16. if you would start filing or grinding of a certain surface of the gate, would you not be afraid to introduce "rust"? i do not think the wrought iron gate supplied by HDB is homogenously coated
  17. one way to save some $$ for the main door lock is to swop main door lockset among a few of you, this way, the contractor/id will not be able to use their existing keys to come into your home anymore. the negative part is you will still know who had your original set and you know who was e owner of your set : )
  18. expired products or improperly controlled temperature environments leading to the change in tastes
  19. me from Commonwealth Ave SERS (Blk27A).... so my entitlement only Blk 90 and this is probably the reason why my name was not on the list u had. will PM u my number shortly....and thank you, I will see you tomorrow afternoon.
  20. yes i am a SERS owners from Commonwealth not Tanglin Halt.....will be a resident at Blk 90, so if that is e case, maybe can I meet you at your unit at ard 2pm or earlier at your convenience?
  21. as for time, just need to know where to meet e group as i dont have keys yet n my current residence is just across e road so i am flexible. appreciate the consideration to have me "accepted" : )
  22. me new here and would like to participate in ur visits this saturday, is it possible? i do not mind letting you view my unit too but not yet collect key, paiseh : )
  23. i am not tryin to be mean here nor do i have anything against homeopathy as i have heard alot of good things about it but what was mentioned to you is very general leh. if you look at your ovulation cycle, you are most fertile when the mucus is clear n runny and this is in the 12 to 16 days timeline, that is e most conducive environment for sperm, when you are out of the fertile period, the mucus becomes thick and this is the environment that is not conducive for sperm. guess its a way that mother nature decided upon as design for humans. anyway enuff of my crapping.....my wife had fibroids and typically tat would mean difficulty to conceive and was put on Diane35 for few years to regulate periods hopin to reduce the size of the fibroids, well when we were ready to be parents, we went for a check, well fibroids did reduce but not disappear. doctor put her on some Diabetes medication, not because she is diabetic but because studies have proven that aids ovulation, he also gave us another option to take another medication to almost sure fire pregnancy but we said we didnt need e speed, we jus take it natural with the diabetic medication. guess its a miracle from god, within 2 months of stopping Diane35 after so many years and only with the Diabetic medication, she conceived and is now 3months preggy : ) well if u ask me what did we do right that i can share with others, the best thing would be to be relax, dont have ********** for the sake of getting preg, jus take things easy, relax, do your typical couple **********, etc.......things will put itself in place. with so much thoughts on body temperature monitoring, countings fertile days etc, this inadvertenly puts on in a stress mode at least at the back of your mind, and this will not be healthy. so just take it easy, relax and God Bless U just recalled the Diabetic medication is "Medformin" (Spelling may not be correct !! )
  24. pardon my question but how does the homeopathy "doc" know what discharge you have?? did he ask you or did he "observe" you to check on whats discharging??
  25. previously diy e painting for my 3rm flat, sand lightly on the newly plastered wall, applied a layer of Sealant on the newly plastered walls, painted with 2 to 3 layers, terrible! almost died of fatigue, don think i will ever wanna diy to save the few hundred dollars next time.
