  1. Our reno is now close to completion as all the doors are finally up yesterday! Now we are just left with minor rectifications hee..so actually it can be considered completed le ba haha. the living room
  2. Haha, oops I made a typo error, I meant opsh. Another company doing wiw!
  3. Haha, think it is the camera. We are using granite for the counter top.
  4. Kraus faucet's up and working in the kitchen! And so is the Bosch hood.
  5. Anyway really excited about my amazon purchase just now! Bought this for myself and this for the mr These lamps have been on my radar for some time, really like how classic the design is! And the reviews about the spring mechanism are very good, so when I saw they are both at about 40% off, I quickly bought it! (after seeking approval from the mr of course hee) Xmas presents for ourselves! Actually I haven't found out how much they are selling this in sg. But I figured with the discount, it should be quite a gd deal even with the shipping! Er hope it doesn't turn out otherwise
  6. An update on the progress for the past week. Kitchen and mbr toilet's countertop has been installed! Very happy with how nicely the tap and basin comes together even thought the taps were all bought online. Kitchen tap's not installed yet as the hole in the granite top is too small. Apparantly that is a standard size but its not big enough for the Kraus faucet. The other hole in the quartz top for the hansa tap is alright though. Now that the hole's been enlarged, we'll have to trouble the plumber to make another trip to fix it up. Pending items: 1) granite counter top for kitchen 2) quartz counter top for mbr toilet 3) crystal glass backing for kitchen 4) final coat of paint 5) glass for wooden frame 6) doors for all bedrooms, toilets and kitchen (make take up to another 2 weeks! ) 7) hood installation 8) cleaning 9) touch ups!
  7. Sharing some of the appliances we bought. From mega: 1) Hitachi R-SF48CMS 2) Gas hob Bosch PRA326B90E 3) Induction hob Bosch PIE375N14E 4) Chimney hood DWB09E750 5) Electrolux washer EWF10842 6) Electrolux dryer EDV705 (will be changed to EDV7051) We were first informed there was no more stock for the dryer when we called up to arrange for a delivery date. However the day before the delivery, we called again to check if the dryer can be delivered together and they said no problem. In the end when the delivery man came, he said the dryer, washer/dryer stacking kit, and two free bosch pots will be delivered another day. TUrns out the model we bought was discontinued and we had to top up to get another model.
  8. hi, the clocks from taobao looks very nice. Your renovation is so fast! haha! mine is close to three months and counting! congrats on moving in!
  9. our reno is progressing well, cos we always ask Mr. K what is the next 2 step so that we can plan accordingly. Oh ya, think the lighting was completed 2 weeks ago. Now we will be waiting for final painting and the doors to be done up! How was the outlet door unit installed (compressors)?
  10. Met up with Mr. K this morning at my place. Did some clarification on the things which needs to be rectified. We will still have the two pieces of glass at the living room half wall. The craftsmen will do their best to fit the glass into the wooden frame. Countertop will be installed later in the afternoon and final painting will start next week! Pending items will only be the doors and final cleaning. Hopefully, everything can be completed before end of the year. Anyway, from the way we are gauging the progress, all the major work to be done should be completed before xmas and hand over should be before end of the year! Cross our fingers! Cant wait to start our 摆家乐!!!! Preview of our study table! It is so heavy!!
  11. Your carpentry looks good!! Haha, my house is at woodlands. I am the gan going type and keep asking himto rectify stuff! Lol! Can't wait to complete my Reno soon! My Hacking started on 26 sept!

  13. Hi Sharon, my house is also being done up by Mr k! Hope he isn't complaining abt me! Lol! Cos I ask his guys to do quite a fair bit of rectification. You can check out our blog.
  14. Yep we bought them for $85 too. But imo the wooden bands are nicer, and since its reversible its like having two lights for the price of one! so its worth it hee.
  15. Hi blackpeace, the plumber didn't have any problem fixing the shower set. We tested the different types of spray and they seem to be working fine! I did went to check out the price of this particular shower set in sg and was under the impression that it was more expensive, though I cannot rem any figures! At the time we we'r buying from insani, this shower set was out of stock, therefore we got it from amazon us. We got it from amazon at about 200usd and the shipping together with our Kraus kitchen faucet is about 50usd. You can compare the price in sg against this to see if its cheaper. Hope it helps!
  16. Hi iceage, thanks for the compliments! The laminate we are using for the platform is Collins Marcello Walnut from lamitak and its code is WY 5240D. The laminates are all very pretty and hope you have fun choosing them!
  17. Yup, we can change the colour band anytime. We also saw other colours available during the Philips carnival bsvk in November. They were going in sale at around 50 plus I think.
  18. So with the carpentry done, we are left with a few more major items to completion! Den we can do our own version of 摆家乐! lol Pending items: 1) granite counter top for kitchen 2) quartz counter top for mbr toilet 3) crystal glass backing for kitchen 4) final coat of paint 5) glass for wooden frame 6) doors for all bedrooms, toilets and kitchen 7) cleaning 8) touch ups! The biggest hurdle now is the piece of glass between the living room and bedroom 3! Today we received the shocking news that we may have to settle for 3 pieces of glass for our L shaped half glass wall in the living room. We had all along thought it will be 2 pieces of glass since it is L shaped, not U shaped! From what I briefly understand, it has something to do with problems fitting one piece of glass onto the wooden frame. Wonder if this is always the case when using wooden frame for glass panels?? We've asked to stop the glass work as we couldn't understand the issue and why this was only brought up at the very last min. Will have to discuss further when we meet up, which is hopefully this saturday.
  19. haha yes I like the smooth curve too! but its a pity that curvy part is at a place that's hard to spend more time appreciating it! lol probably when we r in the showers can admire it hahaha the reno journey is not exactly smooth~~have some bumps here n there but luckily most of them are rectifiable! such as the cabinets in the kitchen where they concealed the water pipes. When we first saw it we were stunned cos we were expecting flushed cabinets. Our neighbors didn't have the same problem. Thankfully the carpenters were willing to take down the entire top cabinets, saw off the jutting part and fixed it in such a way that the cabinets are now flushed. To achieve that we had to compromise and seal up the water pipes and access to it will be more troublesome, but we don't mind. Really liking the way it looks now!
  20. After about 1 week, carpentry works are finally done! There were some hiccups along the way but thankfully they were rectified promptly. shoe cabinet platform
  21. Thanks linakua, your reno's looking good too!
