Jon, Nice designs, esp your toilets. We too hav similar toilet layouts. We wanted to conceal the pipes but our ID advise us against it. Apparently, my toilet drainage got choked soon after during our reno and we called HDB. So HDB called our neighbour just below us and had their plumber fixed the drainage by removing part of the pipe section and cleared the debris within. So it really depends on the neighbour upstairs. Anyway, your ceilings look great!

think it really depends on luck. I bought a table from them recently and the top has a small scratch. We decided to change it and I called up the logistics dept. They promptly settled for me by replacing it with another one the week after. No questions asked on how the damage was incurred. They just change it one for one.

Nice tilings. We too, felt that the tiling work is great. We also smoothen our kitchen wall - no wall tiles. You dont have wall tiles too? Johnny suggested that, to cut cost. He also mentioned that most modern kitchens do not have wall tiles. Instead they focus on a open concept with minimal walls, the remaining walls will have frosted glass, black glass, and cabinets to line them. We flipped through some kitchen magazines and indeed what he said was true.

We bought those stuff ourselves becoz we wanted lights of special designs. Balestair has many shops and offer a great variety. If you were to get t5, should try getting philips set with holder, its more lasting. Anyway, dont feel obligated to buy. Check out the prices first and have a feel of how much downlights cost, and t5 cost.

Meanwhile u can source for contractors as well as furnishing n don't miss those sales. Even though our reno is long over, home furnishing items are still far from complete. We r sourcing around for designs we like.

Congrats Kath. Its the beginning of your reno, full of surprises here and there, but nevertheless, you will enjoy the process and at the end of it your house will be one great comfy place to stay in. But do try to drop by often to make sure things are done as planned.

Due to the nature of cooking with a wok, there's much scrapping action, we prefer not to buy a wok coated with Teflon or any other metals. For small families like us, we use WMF Skillet Wok, 32cm. It is made of SS and made in Germany.We like this wok beacuse it feels really durable, its a much trusted brand and it has a handle. You can get if from most departmental stores in Orchard.
