Hi, thanks for yr advice ... yeps ... i have exisiting "brokened marble" flooring now .. some call it Chipped marble ... pinkish colour ... i am actually struggling whether to hack away the present marble and replace with those modern tiles or to simply polish and shine it ... I am afraid that keeping the floor will bring down the theme of "modern, high-end, simplistic" ... I have seen a few of those photos of these ID firms u metioned but i just canot see any nice examples from the portfolios .. wheras spacious planners portfolio, kitchen, feeling and everything just seems so my kind ... i seriously dun mind visiting other firms if i see the portfolio tat catches the feel i want ... the common problem of most firms i feel is that they wanna use the standard "hdb format" to plan for us .. i simply hate it !! i visited another firm, i told them i wanna for ceiling n spot lights for my kitchen ... then he tell me, KITCHEN LEI ... WHITE LIGHTS is better ... GOSH he dun even understand me ... Chew interior is even worse ! they r simple contractors not fit to be IDs !! I got a urge to try Kelvin from Gplan also after seeing so many good remarks about him from everywhere BUT somehow i canot feel that Kelvin's design gives me the feel tat i saw at Spacious Planners .... can anymore kelvin's clients share with me their houses photos ????? much appreciated .... -

“NO” - The more we say it, the less we waste. It's amazing how a little word like "NO" can have such an effect on how we reduce waste. In turn, it can have a real impact on our environment and indirectly even our own pockets. Consider this sobering fact – Singaporeans use 2.5 billion plastic bags a year. That is 2,500 plastic bags per year, for each family. Or almost 7 plastic bags a day per family. Most of these are often thrown away because although we use them for our trash daily, we can't deny that there will always be more bags than we actually need. This waste only means greater costs to our environment. And don't forget the big bucks spent on making these bags. One way or another, these costs trickle down and it is you who pays the price in the end. That's why plastic bags never have been or will be "free". Say "NO" to plastic bags now and you automatically say "YES" to less waste, haze and global warming. That's the power of a simple word. DID YOU KNOW? About 2.5 billion plastic bags are used every year in Singapore. That's about 2,500 bags used per family per year. Plastic bags are made from oil, a finite resource. If each family uses one less plastic bag a week, Singapore could save 40 million bags each year. By using reusable bags during our shopping trips, we will use fewer plastic bags and help to conserve the earth's resources. Plastic bags thrown away as litter, dirty our public places, rivers and canals, and may even clog up drains, and this would lead to stagnant water and mosquito breeding. Plastic bags litter despoils nature trails, beaches and even chokes up mangroves and poses a threat to marine lives. Source: National Environment Agency

Hi ... From the Buddhist perspective.. Absolutely no problem in suspending a Buddhist Altar in the middle of the air, importntly is to fit the house design instead of a big n ugly altar which is supposed to be "fengshui fit" . To live in accordance with the Buddha's teachings, to understand and to have Faith and rejoice is the highest blessing and the best "fengshui" More queries ? Feel free to contact me

Guan Yin 观音 which's sanskrit name is Avalokietsvara meaning one who percives the cries from this world, a popular bodhisattva 菩萨 in Buddhism which has often been mis-worshipped by Taoists and taoist temples, setting loads of restrictions which goes aganist the teachings of Buddhism. Guan Yin Pusa 观音菩萨 orignated from the 25th Chapter of Universal Door Lotus Sutra 妙法莲华经- 观世音菩萨普门品二十五. Guan Yin appears in the form of female in many cultures who worship him, especially in Chinese Buddhist Culture. Guan Yin Bodhisattva made 12 vows which mainly focused on blessing the world and relieving pain and sufferings to people who calls upon her name with pure faith n devotion. That is the main reason for it's popularity amongst Buddhists or even taoists. However, Guan Yin should not be framed up with superstitions such as that "it is not Ok to if one does not place an incense urner, or burning josspapars" since it was not a Buddhist concept in the beginning. A note to make, no one will be too "dirty" to make offering or pray to Guan Yin Bodhisattva even during menses which is a normal cycle in females. Nobody is too dirty for the Buddha and bodhisattvas to be blessed .... the impt thing, are yr minds and heart pure and clean ???? 南无本师释迦牟尼佛 南无大慈大悲观世音菩萨 。。。

Putting A Buddha Statue In Your House Or Garden:
enci replied to Butoot's topic in Geomancy/Fengshui
The significance of putting a Buddha statue may be due to many reasons: Buddha statues placed as a artistic object or oranament is always Ok since there are no taboos in Buddhism and Buddhism does not believe that the "spirit" of the Buddha resides in the Buddha statue. From a religious viewpoint, the Buddha statue is normally marked with the 32 characters and 80 excellent qualities of an enlightened being. Therefore, the Buddha statue means as an object for Buddhists to meditate upon on and also to remind the family of the goodness of the Buddha, the consistent need to live in accord with the Buddha's advice, the need to understand the Dharma and to rejoice in it. Making daily efforts of offerings depending on indiviual is also a mean to make practise of generosity, devotion, grace and loving kindness. Such as incense represent the fragrance and truth of the Buddha's teachings, while light dispels darkness of ignorance. ENCI -
Hi, Let me clarify from the Buddhist perspective. Fengshui consultants are not good representations of Buddhism or Buddhist practises. The practise of using salt n grains for dedicating a new home or conscretion of Buddha or Bodhisattva statues is not a Buddhist practise. For Buddhists, the power of external stuff such as holy oraments, grains, salt or holy water is not the point that a Buddhist should build its faith upon on. For a Buddhist, simplicity n understanding is more important in bringing out the effect of "blessing" a new home. a Buddhist home or altar is dedicated thru the external ceremony or reciting of the sutras and mantras which are supposed to encompass the goodness of the Buddha and as a skillful mean for the occupuant, water is sprinkled about the space symbolising the seed of goodness planted in thr family for now and future. What is important is that the occupant understands this simple ceremony and abides to live in harmony inline with Buddhist teachings, then this will be a truly blessed home by inside and outside. 内外吉祥 。。。 ENCI feel free to ask any questions for homes, dedicating houses etc By appointmentmt2
