  1. wow.. i feel like in schtime leh !! Interesting leh So stained grout oso can use tat duckie ting? Though the duckie ting kill mould... or stained grout is caused by mould one? haha.. i feel like a bodok leh
  2. ermm. actually how do we define mould huh? those slimy tings?? those unwhite stuff in between the tiles (not toilet bt kitchen) is considered mould??!!
  3. Is tat mould killer spray as effective as removing the brown marks in between the kitchen wall and floor tiles I have problem removing the brown marks on the white cement in between the tiles. It is suppose to be white one lo.. bt after fw months.. some of them turn brownish i tried JIF and other solution, it just does not come off!! SOS!
  4. Hi Happy Erm... Mr Low is not PERFECT leh But overall, mai hiam not bad lo But u got to be beri patient cos he can be quite slow in showing u the confirmed drawings of the kitchen cabinets etc etc. I have chased him for drawings many times before he gave it to me. Tis is quite vexing lo.. bt i have learned his 'pattern' and adopt a bochup attitude which makes my life less miserable Keke But ultimately, everything goes on fine... he is responsible lo if tat is ur utmost criteria in chooseing a renovator. But if u wanna those designer style... he may not be suitable i feel... (my personal opinon)
  5. Hello! Yeap.. my house was done Mr Low He is quite 'safe' lo.. he did fulfil all the requirements and did not turn nasty halfway or bochup like the other negative examples we hear from the forum. He is a practical guy, so everything is abt practicality and of coz tat boils down to the overall pricing package. He is much 'affordable' as compared to the rest. But in terms of aesthetic design, ermm.. don't expect too much lo. He is not those designer style lo.. so if u want him to input u NEW ideas to ur house, my advice is -- tell him what u want instead. Bt of coz, some basic tings like tiles selection lah, paint color lah.. he can still advice u which is more practical and nice based on the projects he has done previously.... bt anything OUT OF THE BOX, maybe not.
  6. Haha. Ya.. long time din come into renotalk liao.. Oh.. my kitchen beri small cos half of it is gone into the dining area Nah.. the small kitchen http://img245.imageshack.us/img245/8697/pict0083aft1.th.jpg Bt congrats in the completion of the whole house.. keke..
  7. hey Tim! Ah.. ur house is almost completed! Aiyoh... .i saw ur kitchen cabinet beri envy leh.. so many cabinet space leh! My kitchen is halve of urs lo.. and my cabinet space is also halve-d Bt looks nice and classic!
  8. what is mckenic? my contractor use thinner and i tink it works quite well. But thinner cannto be used on plastic lo.. on tiles can lo.
  9. LOOKS marvellous! I wanted to do glossy black for kitchen previously bt was beri worried over the obvious oily stains against black surface... so scrapped it off Now i am oledi having problem wif my tempered glass dining table.. u get to see oil stains so much obvious... the sames goes for my kopi table Haiz.
  10. Hi Tim Erm.. we can choose up to 5 colors excluding white lo. Can choose and match any brands. We took Nippon Odourless and 3-in 1. Dulux's paint selection quite 'dull' for us as we prefer bright colors But one thing abt the Nippon that we selected has a mild glossy finish. It looks nice BUT BUT BUT the painter must be very skilful lo.. cos any touch up will look beri patchy one leh against the light. We have overlooked to inspect the quality of the paint job. I only discovered the patches on the very day of handover... wanna to repaint oso hard liao loh. So do make sure to check out for the quality of the paint job not only on the surface but oso bio it from the side (esp against the light)... hehe.. hope it is not too chim for u
  11. Hi Tim Finally lay my hands on the renovation contract. I remembered u were asking abt wiring price rite? I have purple for my guest room and green for my masterbedroom and yellow for study room. U may check out the colors for ur easy reference so u can decide what is the best color for u. Haha But looks like completing soon loh! Now i am waiting for ur end-completion pix ...
  12. Hi Tim I find it beri 'cute' to see that ur flat layout similiar to mine. We hacked the storeroom away (with a tinge of regret cos no place to hide ugly things) but the consolation is that we can throw in a dining table loh. It is so hard to plan for the ideal location for the dining table w/o hacking for our case loh Wat abt u guys? Where u putting the dining table? The RP flat comes with parquet bt requires repolishing loh. But i find parquet such a hassle loh. Kena scratches easily leh. We saw a few scratches now liao loh... so sianz leh.. like nid to treat a floor witih delicate care and oso try not to drop things on the floor which is hard loh We did a complete renovation minus the living room and 3 bedroom flooring. It costs us ard $22k (excludes lights). With lights, aircon, oven (under the same contractor lobang), it is ard $30k liao Bt mine is not those designer style one loh. Quite simple one lo. I finished my renovation on eve of Vesak day. Now waiting for AD in OCT before we moved in. I do not have the contract with me so not beri sure abt the costs though.. but i have saved a few pix of my renovated pix. Living Hall http://img74.imageshack.us/my.php?image=pict0080aoh4.jpg Kitchen http://img181.imageshack.us/my.php?image=pict0083afk8.jpg
  13. Hey Tim! Just saw ur recent fotos and oh boy.. though urs is a Tampinese flat, but it looks quite similar to my bishan flat leh!! CHeck it out!! The storeroom in the kitchen http://img20.imageshack.us/my.php?image=pict0071ln2.jpg THe masterbedroom http://img233.imageshack.us/my.php?image=pict0252sn0.jpg Similar rite?? hahha.. so cute leh! Urs look completed soon hoh! How much u payr ur flat then if u dun mind sharing?
  14. Paiseh. I meant walk in wardrobe. I wanted to knock down one room to have a larger masterbedroom cos find 4S room damned small lo. But in the end, i did not knock down lo cos worried that next time harder to sell it off Yah, i oso agree the mentality to do it nice for the first time cos it is costly. We hire a contractor kinda lo.. so not beri designer style though. But ok lah.. nt tat ugly. My quotation is at my new house, so i cannot advice u much on ur wiring costing. BT i spent almost $2k for rewiring cos same as ur case, old flat lo Bt i did knock down the storeroom leh.. same as urs, it is between the living hall and the kitchen. We knock it off for a dining area which i think it is not a bad idea. But it is up to individual though. Bt i agree that w/o storeoom, wah.. beri jialut leh.. canot store the unsightly things nicely... sianz How much is the entire reno?
  15. Bingo. Sama sama. No wonder i look at the pre-reno pix like beri similar to mine. Mine was at Bishan. Also like 20+ years old lo. 4th Floor.. not beri nice view leh. Sianz. Urs leh? Thinking of moving out after 5 years if can find a btter location U planning to knock down one room for WIW mah? I wanted to bt bf say dun wanna
