I did all homogenous for our house, have to top up around $1600, but from the forum, like most pple do laminates instead of homogenous for bedrooms..
-
Congrates to you, xlan... This means that all 27A neighbours will be able to expect their keys very soon... Hmmm, dunno when will be our turn for 26D..

Hi everyone, need advise on the kitchen tiles, I understand that HDB rule hacking of toliet wall and floor tiles are not allowed within 3 years for new flats, what about kitchen wall and floor tiles? Are we allowed to hack them away? Thanks..
-
Ah... Icic... looking at the kitchen tiles, i guess must be from Tanglin Halt 40 storeys flats.. Cos tat time, the uncle from Tong Hong brought us to his show flat at Tanglin Halt, we were full with envy for the kitchen and bathroom tiles.. Much much nicer than ours... haiz..
-
Also, how come the wall tiles different one??? Can change meh??? Not the white and peach colour???????
-
Any timings? What time they close the showflat?

loobhlinda, is the haulage cost included in your quotation by the ID during initial stage? Or they pay for you first then get the money later? Abit confused liao..
-
Okok.. thanks for the information redbottle, will double check on my quote when i get it, maybe tomoro.. I never see sand, but I remember i see the word haulage leh.. Me also one big sotong one.. hehe..
-
Yup, very very likely, infact, we are very pleased that the first design that they came up with, cos not only fully meet our requirements and when we look at it, both hubby and me was thinking, this is it, we like the design and we want it.. So far we can really click with our ID, his mindset and ours is the same, not pushy also, although we placed the deposit ($800 to obtain the 3D drawings and quote and to secure the last exhibition package), but we did not signed on any contract. Den throughout the whole meeting last Sat, never did he once ask us to sign the contract. This is what we like.. But, the above comments is based on my thoughts and feel, basically, i believe, one must really click with the ID first, only when u feel comfortable, then commit.. By the way, who is your sis ID? pm me?? Thanks..

Hi yun11, I remember only 4-room and below have ceramic tiles for kitchen and bathroom, but for 5-room, only bathroom have tiles.. The exhibition at Expo is like a fair, with a IDs gathering together at a common place to let us get quotation.. Normally, at these fairs, many companies will give some "special" deals, something like comex 2007..
-
Huh, ok, den must cater this inside our cost estimate also.. Haulage i think included (FOC) in my quote, sand i not so sure.. Before signing anything really must open eyes BIG BIG to check..
-
Nope, ours is 4-room only.. We backside itchy go and ask for alot of features, carpentary, but we were also thinking, if we never ask, we dunno how much will it cost, must as well check for everything first, after the quotation is back, we will then decide which ones we dun want and than take away and revised the quotation.. Cos if later stage, during actual renovation, suddenly decide to add the work in and then inccur extras.. By den, even if the cost is higher, we have the old quotes to check whether are they over-charging us.. We prefer to go all out first, then decide what is the final items we really need, want and have budget for it.. This cost will not be the final one.. hehe.. Just to check, notice someone mentioned about electricity wiring, not included in quotation also ah? must source else where issit?
-
Hi Jasch, thanks, will look at the coming sat promotion.. haha.. Going to see somemore, I havent signed on the dotted line also.. keke.. Still can change if the quotation is really very expensive, the most lose my $800 deposit to change to other things loh.. haha.. Will check with others to compare for quotation in order to fight for lower prices.. Thanks.. yang guo, who is your friend's ID in *****, if you dun want post here, can pm me please... Thanks! Who is going for the renovation fair at expo on sat? Hands-up, can do a mini gathering, have been talking so long in forum, never see each other before.. keke..

Just to add, from the $36k, around $2+k plus is for the 7% GST.. !! Dun forget to check and include the 7% GST in your quote if your ID or contractor is registered for GST.. They will bring you to the tile shop to choose and normally will give u a price like can buy the $3 per sq feet type, if more must top up.. For furniture, lightings, kitchen and bathroom accessories, they will normally bring you to their affliated shops to buy to get cheaper price, but cheap or not, must do some home work also.. Normally ID will go with you to select, cos if buy a design that doesn't suit the theme, then no point also..

Hi everyone, just wanna to share my quotation, its on the high side due to all the designs, features, carpentary that we included, thought will be within our budget, buttttt, its not loh.. We had made amendments to the quotation, reduce some items and hopefully the price will go down, its about 36k !! Hopefully, u all understand what i saying, cos some of the things i dun really know how to describe and the quotation not with me.. cos my ID took back to revise the costing.. The basic quotation for the standard package is around 17k, plus free fuji system 3 air-con, the remaining includes: 1) Feature wall for tv and tv console 2) Laminates for the living dining area with mirror 3) Additional cost increase for getting all 3 bedrooms with homogenous tiles 4) Glass door for MBR toliet 5) 1 top compartment bookshelf for our study room 6) 2 study tables 7) rest and relax long bench with storage in study room 8) bench with storage in dining area 9) Side table for MBR 10) Platform for living room 11) Wall paper for MBR Haven't signed with my ID yet, looking at the final quotation first then will decide, although i had stated its 95% confirmed.. !!

Hi applefreak, thanks.. hmmm, looking at the safety and convenient aspects, its worth considering to buy.. discuss with my ah lao first..
-
Hi Applefreak / xlan, Can check how much is the eubiq system? Seems like its quite convenient, and will not have wires around.. Thanks..

Thanks for the reply on the payment terms.. I think i will be doing the base for both the refridgerator and washing machine as well, cos i am so clumsy, always spill things at my current place, dun think i will be able to avoid washing the floor in the kitchen.. By the way, found this website while going through the forum thread, http://www.floorplanner.com/ can use to plan the basic layout of our house, just load your floor plan to the website and you can start.. Quite fun and easy to use, they come with the dimensions also, but i am still figuring how to use the dimension thing, cos it seems different from our layout.. But best of all, its free.. Try it..

Hi neighbours, sorry to side-track, may i know what is the standard payment terms for ID/Contractors, or rather payment terms that ID/Contractors will accept but is also safeguarding our interest? Any advise? Thanks...

Hi Cindy, Thanks for all the advices and additional information... We will double check in my ID quotation when we meet him this week! This forum is real great, with lots of information! With regards to electronics shops, there are few that were recommended by forummers (list is with hubby) that is cheaper and also, we can also bargain prices with Harvey Norman, we are so surprised when we found out.. Hope this information help also..

Hi Lynnie, congrates, with the protruding corner, i was wondering how hdb calculate the sqm for the floor area, cos the unit at 25A also same is 90sqm, but doesnt have the protruding corner..
-
Hi everyone, No disappointment, here are the photos of the protruding corner.. I persuade my hubby to go with me to take the pictures yesterday, we sneaked up to our unit.. keke.. Hope these pictures help.. The protruding corner of the living room.. The corner in the kitchen, where it show the tap for the washing machine.. The U-shape bar for the gas heater outside the toliet.. I didnt make the pictures smaller cos i think it may look clearer.. My apologies for making this webpage to load longer..
-
hi xlan, Is your theme all white? I love your kitchen, i wanted an all white kitchen also, but my mum say will get yellow and dirty, but i still want to do it.. hehe.. Very nice.. I waiting for my 3D drawings and quotation also.. But overall, very nice design..
-
Hi Yang Guo, Mind to take a picture of the corner that I was talking about? the protruding corner at the end of the living room? Thanks a million...
-
Testing using picoodle.. Seems to be able to load bigger images.. haha.. Saw the feet?? My hubby sneak in to take pics while the worker is taking a nap during lunch time.. My unit living room.. That time onepostwonder, remember u mentioned that the living/dining area from our blk unit is slightly different from the units at 25A, and really, my hubby confirmed that for our units, there is an extra protruding wall out into the living area.. Refer to the layout, its the location for the G&W and E&T, not sure what is that, i guess is G&W = Gas & Water, E&T = Electricity & ??? Can't take a picture of the corner, cos dun wanna wake the worker sleeping in the living room.. Maybe next time when we visit there again.. keke..
