Hi... Your designs are very nice, i like the table at the kitchen, but i couldn't do it for my own, cos I am not taking away the metal rack liao... I still put my shoe rack infront of the main door, haiz.. Your feature is nice... I like feature wall with lines.. Till now, my feature wall design not confirmed yet.. haha.. Gadgetgal, I double confirm with my ID, he say that heat is definitely have for built-in, but depending on the model of the oven, for mine, he had include a slim pull out drawer for sauces one, he say when i bake, just pull out that slim drawer for more ventilation.. Somemore I won't be using everyday also, so it shouldn't be much of a problem.. Probably for those super users, built-in is not recommended.. But our place so small, difficult to do tall unit.. haiz..

Hi nemofc, Take care ya, take medicine liao can sleep, today very very cooling.. My built-in oven is Teka HA 840, cost $960.. I bought a Toshibe washer, top load, with inverter function (can't remember what it means, but we got special price as we buy together with the Toshiba fridge).. Cos when we went scouting around for washing machine, the comment for most front load was like, saves water, but a normal wash will take around 2 hours, meaning higher electrical cost.. *faint* But its up to individual lah, front load got its good points also.. I also wanted a front load at first, cos look nicer.. hehe.. My hood is 90cm long, but my hob around 76cm long only.. haha.. Consider smaller than usual liao.. Standard is around 87cm long right?

No prob.. For the pyroxx function, very good, i guess u r saying about Brandt 667, that model really good, especially if you are having your oven built-in and below the hob area and with kids, cos this model come with cool door function, even if the temperature is over 200 degrees, the temperature on the external door will only be i think 40 or 60 degree only.. The self-cleaning is good to have for lazy pple like me.. haha.. no need to clean the oven.. wahahaha.. But no budget.. Actually, what oven to buy, first is based on what you need, then the budget and then the look (if it matters to you). I feel that if u bake and grill alot, its advisable to invest in a better oven.. As for whether kitchen cabinet, what i understand is that the contractor must make sure they provide sufficient space for ventilation and the wood must not be those low quality ones.. If the cabinets really spoilt easily, then by right the built-in ovens will not be so popular liao, but currently, you can find more and more built-in ovens models and brands in the market..

We went to many places, can try best denki, gain city, harvey norman, courts, audio house, teka showroom, Poh Joo, Asia Excel, Hoe Kee etc to look at ovens, but found that most of the ovens displayed are not to my requirement. Then I started researching on the models and specs of the built-in ovens and finalised my selection. Finally got the Teka one due to cost and "look".. Although I very much prefer to get the Brandt 667 oven bcos of the functionality, but they increase their price, retail cost around $1799, after discount still $1700 Actually, my hubby strongly discourage me from buying oven, cos he say I won't cook after awhile, no point to get so expensive one .. The Teka one that I bought, he also grumble and grumble, but finally agree after I choose a much cheaper hob and hood, $600 for both as we had set a budget of $1.5k for hob, hood and oven initially..

Hi elaine, For washing machine, i feel that its not advisable to get a washer cum dryer, cos if 1 function spoilt, u must change the whole machine.. And its not cheap also.. For built-in oven, there are $500 - $800 range one.. If the oven is without digital timer, it will be cheaper.. Digital timer is good for baking and grilling as they give u precise control over the time and temperature.. Conventional oven goes by increase of 5 mins each turn, something like that.. err, u know what i mean???

Hi gadgetgal, I bought my Teka HA 840 oven from Asia Excel, it cost $960, was given 20% off the retail price of $1200. I got my tap, sink, hob, hood and bathroom accessories from them as well..

One, Your offer came too late, I bought my Slumberland King size bed in Aug.. Now, I had bought nearly all my electricals stuff, left only TV not purchased yet.. Waiting for the Sitex 2007 in end Nov.. Hope to get a good deal there..

Gadgetgal, I do agree with you, I finally end up with Teka is becos of the cost as well as design and functionality.. (woman just can't resist pretty things).. keke.. I am only making a comparision between Brandt 2 models and my Teka model, Brandt 667 Pyrolitic oven is my very first choice, it comes with a cool door function as well as pyrolitic cleaning (meaning self-cleaning). This is the top range which originally retailed at $1699, but now is $1799. For Brandt 642 Cataylic oven, it retailed at $1099, but now is $1199, there is only i thin 5 cooking methods. Therefore, finally, I took my Teka HA 840, retailed at $1200, but was given a good discount, and I got it at $960. This Teka oven have 8 cooking methods, digital timer control also as well Children safety block option.. Hope this help.. Wah... $300 is a fantastic buy...

Hi gadgetgal, Brandt oven are real good, initially I wanted to get this brand also, but recently, they had a price increase of $100 on all their items and end up, I didn't get Brandt, I got a Teka oven..
