Hi everyone, Here is my T-blog We have successfully balloted a flat in Tiong Bahru (Jalan Membina) during the Feb07 balloting exercise. This is the 2nd time we tried balloting. Queue number isnt fantastic, but we dont mind abt low floor. Most importantly its our lovenest. The first time of our balloting was at Redhill but wasnt successful. V glad to get a place in Jalan Membina because its near to my office and its only 5mins MRT travel time to City hall. My love nest is a 4 room HDB flat 90m2, purchased at $283k. Collected keys on 24 Oct 07 Searching for ID is not easy. 1 ID took us 2 appointments. (1 to visit the place, 1 back to see quote). So eg. if i have shortlisted 8 ID, total trip i go down to visit ID is 16days. During the 2nd appt is tougher cos its not easy to reject those ID. Some are too nice to be rejected. Some are abit pushy..Took me 2 months for ID searching. Received quotes from: 1) CityDesign - IMM 2) TheLineLiving - IMM 3) Gracious Lodge - IMM 4) Weiken - IMM 5) InnerView - IMM 6) Cissern - Expo 7) ***** - Expo 8) Baroque Dezign - Joo Chiat 9) U-home (didnt get back to us after 3 weeks of waiting) From the above, i have narrowed down to 3 ID (*****,Weiken,Baroque). Have a hard time deciding which, cos we like these 3 companies.

ya lor ya lor,the stove is a headache, cant face toilet and window,the only place to put is near the fridge. but its quite near the fridge leh..

anyone looked for fengshui shifu to get dates for "dong tu"(start reno) ah?

i have made alot of comparison..here is my info,hope can help u B3 Supply & do water-proofing for kitchen & 2 bathrooms flooring. $ 150.00 C1 To supply & lay cardboard protection for the whole house. $ 150.00 C2 Clearing of debris from site after renovation. $ 400.00 C3 Clean up whole unit with chemical $ 200.00 These should be FOC E1 To supply labour to install kitshen sink, hoob & hob. $ 300.00 Too expensive.. normal price is $100+ Kitchen cabinet Price still ok cos they give u long kitchen.. if ur kitchen is short, the price is too exp for u already Master Bedroom 4 Design & fabricate vanity cabinet with mirror & side storage in laminate finish @ master toilet. $ 1,200.00 Too exp, the highest price i heard of is only $720 come with mirror and sink. Those without sink and mirror is about $400+ only The rest of the items still ok

Hi Jasch, my reno should be starting this week. my ID is waiting for me to give him our fridge dimensions. we are also deciding whether shall we do 2ft or 2.5ft kitchen cabinet. once we r done, they can start anytime. was suppose to start last week but my in law last min want us to see fengshui, so we delayed awhile. yup sure,once we are doing half way or almost done, i let u know, u can pop by and take a look lor

a kitchen cabinet question.. The normal kitchen cabinet top is 2 ft. Anyone considered doing 2.5 ft? 2ft is the width of the top. Personally think its too short, thought of doing 2.5ft so that i can have more work space in the kitchen. Any one has any views on it? !!

ohh u got a v good point,thanks for ur guidance. thanks for everyone's advice too, i dont think i want to make a build in wardrobe in my small bedroom arleady

i will be using bamboo pole installed on the ceiling too...dont intend to use hdb's that big hanger,occupy too much of kitchen space. When u pull that out, its just very short piece of metal only,no point to keep it unless its long enough for u to hang alot of cloths. just my opinion,no offence to anyone =)

Hi, anyone knows is this ok? My bedhead is on the partition wall of walk in wardrobe. When i sleep, i am facing the window directly. When pple enter the master bedroom, they are able to see my leg prutruding out from my bed (weird design,but this is the only way to have a walk in wardrobe in my small bedroom), is this ok? help..

anyone got a feng shui shi fu to look at ur hse? what is the major changes that the fengshui affect ur reno design? (eg. this cannot place here, owner cannot sleep in master bedroom etc)

so cozy place to live in, watch tv can easily fall asleep with such a nice and cozy environment in the living room

After seen the worksmanship, i signed the contract on the same day. Worksmanship is good, except the tic tac i cant close it well. This is not a big problem la, can always easily rectify it in the last phrase of the reno. My ID is v nice also, when we want to add some small things in our hse, he dont charge us extra cost. quite impressed, no regrets so far. Hope my reno is successful. Starting next week already, i am putting up my blog soon

ops..i didnt sprinkle when i first enter my hse. Going to sprinkle it on sat, shld be ok right?

ya, seems that business quite bad for the uncles, some are boss also right? Anybody sprinkle salt in the house? heard that it bring good luck. but not sure in details. still checking it out

duno who is that uncle from,but he is quite friendly,my ID told him that we have engaged ID already so that uncle left with smile. actually that uncle spotted me opening my window,so he come up to my flat,knocked the door and tried to pass me a brochure

ok thanks! i will check the toilet bowl flushing. wow yesterday one of the uncle door knock my hse and introduce himself abt his reno company.lol the feeling of payment $10k+ is so hard pain.. seems like everything comes so fast,hehe,look for reno,collect key,pay money to start reno

mine is 10% - paid when u confirm ur ID 50% - paid when they going to start work on tiles 30% - paid when carpentry work starts 10% - paid when everything is done i am at the 50% stage, going to pay soon cos my cpf not enough to pay everything,so have to top up in cash think the only compulsory cash payment is the conservancy charges lor..
