    zen_zen: one metre for the track i think, not sure about the watt. kitchen we are using komacplus for the table top. @Titan501: thanks alot for thw well wishes!! just checked with my hubs he said it's 3.8k for system 4. not 6 units!

    Had a fruitful discussion with I-Chapter a week ago to go through our ideas and finally get started! Current colours in the room - Nippon's Seabreeze & Ocean Blue Scope of works:-1) Baby wardrobe - full height with a mixture of checked boxes, shelves, drawers and open-concept wardrobe to hang up the cute clothes2) Two white shelving to display cutesy items 3) Overlaying of the floor tiles in the nursery room, walk-way and living room with vinyl floorings 4) Extension of the sword cabinet in living room - for obvious reasons One thing we regretted during the renovation process was to OPT IN for the HDB tiles when we were selecting our BTOs. We did the overlaying for the MBR and WIW, thinking we can live with the other tiles in the walk-way and living room. However, it has been a nightmare to live with it because they are so HARD to maintain even while cleaning it twice a week. The stains are very obvious on the HDB homogeneous tiles and no matter how diligent we scrub the grouting, it's a never-ending cycle. I can't imagine how I'm going to maintain that in future especially with our baby coming on board so we are glad to finally solve this issue. Our ID has taken the measurements for the room so now, it's just waiting for the ghost month to be over so the works can start! How cute are some of these baby door knobs! Aesthetics and functional aspect to be blended in, is it possible? We hope so. Wish us luck! Ideas are welcome, do drop a comment or email me!

    Because we are welcoming our first baby into our crib end of the year, we are now starting on our new project - to transform the existing 9 months sports room into a baby room! Not much time left since my EDD date is early November. Just two months more to go and not forgetting the ghost month is just this month! I'm actually more excited about the nursery room more than my previous WIW so I'm going to blow the dust off this thread to document the process down! Nursery Room - Before How my current sports room looks like now, painted in a two-toned mint and blue. The colour was initially chosen to complement the other parts of the house while bearing in mind it will be a baby room in future so it should be kept as uni-sex as possible. And now we are having a boy so we are glad it wasn't painted pink! Ideas / Mood-board Not much criteria except for the nursery room to be in line with the Scandinavian theme, to blend in with the rest of our crib. Colour-wise we want it to be soothing for the eyes without any huge contrast - a combination of mint, white, light grey would be good. But I'm aware when the baby toys come flooding in, it will be quite hard to keep to the colour scheme of grey/mint/white. By then I would have so many things on hand to overlook that fact haha! For now, our main constraint is to fully utilize the tight space (typical bto size) to store as much things as possible. We have conveyed it to our ID (I-Chapter) whom we have previously worked with. My husband is thinking of doing a full-height wardrobe but I have concerns if that would be too "harsh" for a nursery. I've sourced Ikea previously but their offerings are not solutions to my problem. Most of their cupboards are bulky which takes up alot of space and comes with limited storage especially for big items. Some pictures from Pinterest, Instagram and Etsy for inspiration. Very close to what we have in mind and these rooms are to die for!

    Hello! Yup it's the large squarish type which we had a hard time tracking it down. 10W i think.! You can find the lights at this place. Price v reasonable but I can't recall how much we paid.     watzup: thank you for your kind words! we referred to mags and pinterest but ended up doing what that suit both our lifestyle. nowadays MBR in flats are really small and there's barely any space to walk after a bed and small wardrobe. miss those old flats with really big rooms! chwhon: yup we changed both our toilet bowls. found the hdb ones to be slightly too small for our comfort. bought it at universal union! recalled it to be $200-300. OTTO 7030.

    @infinity2015: Thank you! Ours is the second highest level, almost wanted to pick the highest level but my parents advised not to. Haha. Our living area is using fan while the rooms are using standing fans. But most of the time we just on the air-con in our MBR since we are home only at night. For the living area, we rarely use the air-con unless there's big groups. Our living area is pretty windy and when switched on at speed 4-5, it can reach the dining area

    infinity2015: hello! we just left it to the jalan besar shop that we brought it from to install for us. not sure how they did it coz i left it entirely to them. they asked if we wanted to shift the point as it wasn't in the centre (abit towards the right). we agreed to top up so it will look nicer with the fan being in the centre of the living area

    Despite some inevitable slight hiccups along the way, our ID made sure that he delivered what was promised from the start and rectified any items that we pointed out. Communications were done via phone calls, what-aps group chats and discussions at his office. We were pretty pleased with the end results at the end. I've been reading Renotalk to pick up some tips since we started from scratch and it's been really helpful. Thus, we thought it's time to share about our virgin renovation process and hopefully it helps!

    My clothes were on the left while his is on the right. Reason was due to safety reasons coz with his height, the chandelier lights were somehow still slightly low for him

    Was initially worried about not having enough space to store all my accessories. And so far so good, the drawers were sufficient to serve its purpose (for now).

    WALK-IN WARDROBE My second favourite place apart from the platform for obvious reasons. It's a very happy feeling to enter my fashion space every morning to dress up! The false gypsum board was in a white tone with gold handles to match the inner interior. I'm glad I insisted on a white & gold theme instead of a monochrome theme to make the original cramp space look so much wider. Entrance

    MBR TOILET This was the only toilet that we spent our bucks renovating fully since it will be the most utilized. We overlay the floorings and walls while adding lightings and acrylic panels to make the toilet looks brighter. We are glad we listened to our ID of choosing dark colours so the toilets won't look so dirty and at the same time, it had a cosy feel which we like. For the ceiling, it was painted in a light grey shade (same as the other toilet).

    MBR One of our best decisions made was listening to our ID to hack the second room due to the original small space. It didn't help that the original walk-way to the MBR was at a 90 degrees angle which made it look ultra tiny. That enlarged the room visually by at least 40% which made alot of difference. As such, they had to conceal the original door opening of the second room and create a 45 degrees door opening (made with false gypsum board). The main bedroom door had to be shifted forward before the new door opening as well. Result: our bedroom now look so much bigger! The colour themes were kept the same as the living room area, with the same laminates chosen for the side bed tables, tv and study area. For both the rooms, we overlay the flooring with matching vinyl flooring and chose a light champaign gradient Nippon paint to match it. Other walls were kept simple with pure white. We really liked how our ID concealed the air-con trunkings (on the left) with a false triangle feature wall (that we could display pics and toys).

    We love how it looks like at night with the warm lightings especially. ROOM ONE This room was kept bare with just a splash of mint paint to complement the living room's colours. It is currently our sports room before our kids come onboard hehe.

    Service Yard Most items were supplied by HDB so we just had to add our own barangs and window grilles. Walk-way For our walk-way leading to the rooms, we had the brickwall connecting to our bomb shelter for a form of continuity, As for the bomb shelter, it was concealed using laminates (same one as the tv area) with a tic-tac door. The door frames for the rooms were painted in black to complement the white doors that our IDs have selected as we didn't opt for HDB doors. Jazzed the area with some our favourite quotes, picture frames and lightings and that's it!

    KITCHENOur ID suggested a wet & dry kitchen which we were fully supportive of. The "wet area" was enclosed with an aluminium black framed door for our cooking while the counter-top area at the "dry area" was our chilling/drinking area.minimal Also, the width was extended by hacking some parts of the walls to enlarge the space. We were both not a kitchen person but weirdly we have spent hours here trying to whip out something decent. Very fun! View from the wet kitchen

    One of our fav features that we like was the 360 rotating television in between our cosy area and our sofa area. It allows us to watch television from the bar counter and dining area. Our ID has cleverly concealed all the television wires within the wall as well. My favourite part of the house was the cosy area where we littered with cushions and bean bags.
