  1. yes, if yours is zen theme, then laminate door would look good. we wanted a more modern look, hence change to glass. moreover glass is cheaper. quite a surprise to us actually. our partition cost us $470 while the door is $475. i can't remember how much is the quote for a laminate door but defintely more expensive than the glass door. but $1.4K may be a bit on the high side.
  2. just gotten my electrical work bill. $2000+. but that's bcos i re-position most of the points. so all in all, our reno cost is about $35K. heart pain but we like the result thus far. hee hee... tough choice but depends on your liking and theme. initially we wanted to do a laminate door too but later change to glass door as we feel that glass has a classier look. happy cracking your head.
  3. Haven't been visiting our place for a while. Today we went up and were presently surprised by the many things that have been done. So sit back and enjoy the many pictures coming your way. This is the door way to our walk-in wardrobe. (Hhmm... didn't realised that it's so dirty. Open sesami.... this is our walk-in wardrobe. There's a full height mirror at one end to make sure that we look good before stepping out. The guy side of the walk-in wardrobe.... simple and functional. A simple display cabinet doubling up as a dressing table. Almost completed book shelves... minus the glass door. Together with the study table. TV console plus feature wall.... Another angle.... Shoe cabinet. The plywood will be afixed with a black tinted mirror. Hope that the effect will be good. Bomb shelter feature wall. The white and wooden area will also be tinted mirror. Lots of mirror and glass in our home, defintely not child friendly. Master toilet shower screen is up. Notice the tight space between the shower screen and vanity top. We really have a small toilet. Vanity top and our basin. Glass door to our kitchen. Initally wanted a sliding glass door. But bcos of some limitation can only do a swing door. But still like the door nevertheless. Our pro sink from Bellari. Hob from Taka. And finally.... this is for happy.... I measured the height of my bottom kitchen cabinet. It's about 34 inches including the base, cabinet and solid top. Is this the normal height? Pretty comfortable with the height.
  4. spam chop. post more pics when your reno starts.
  5. yah.... oni simple ding dong sound.
  6. hi happy, when you need? i will move and finished unpacking probably in early may. if u can wait, i can pass them to you. about 20 pieces.
  7. hi, u seems to use a lot of glossy laminate. same as us. but we will have a hard time cleaning.
  8. we will be moving in officially in early may too.
  9. looks like there are a lot of great minds in renotalk. Went up to my place today n there were not much progress. So took a picture of our legrand ball bell for those who are interested. The door bell as view from normal height. A close-up view. BTW happy, I forgot to measure my kitchen cabinet height. Getting old already.
  10. hooray.... 1st to spam. remember to post more pictures.
  11. yalor yalor... initially wanted to have just more worktop space. then when we see what the capenter did for us, my WTB said we can have our meals there next time especially since we are not having any dining area. err... i duuno how tall leh. tomorrow i go measure. sure... we meet up another day.
  12. just reached home from work. wonder how's the tour. must be exciting.
  13. are you using 1 or 2 lights at the kitchen? i'm using one of 2 x 18W and it's just bright enough. if you are having only 1 light, you may want to re-consider as may not be bright enough, especially when your kicthen is bigger than mine.
  14. we are using 2 x 18W and it's bright enough. yes, there will be pattern on the ceiling when the crystal light is on. but only a bit lah.
  15. Swarovski wannabe crystal lights only. BTW we found that this is not bright enough for our walk-in wardrobe. May have to change it. you have the same kitchen light too? great minds think alike. thanks thanks. u r most welcome to visit. if i can make it tonight, then maybe can drop by my place, altho may be still messy.
  16. hi, should not be too much of an issue which one come first bah. for our case, our living room floor tiles was done first. then the air-con was installed. finally the laminate flooring for bedroom and that's bcos we were waiting for HDB to cement screed for us. so our air-con was installed in between flooring works. would love to join but you all start so early. i haven't knock off yet.
  17. hi hi, never to late to spam. err... we hacked away the wall between the bedrooms and re-partition the area. so the master bedroom (reduced size) becomes our walk-in wardrobe and the common room (expanded size) becomes our main room. our walk-in wardrobe is 17 ft full height plus 2 ft low cabinet, total 19 ft. and my WTB is asking for more. my reno cost is about $32K minus electrical work. so i guess it is about there. and yes, live your dreams. remember to share your pictures next time.
  18. More capentary today. This is the other side (the shorter side) of the walk-in wardrobe. Naturally, this side is mine while the longer side (posted yesterday) is my WTB territory. This is our display cabinet that doubles up as our dressing table. Originally it was 3 ft. But bcos we wanted more wardrobe space, we shortened it to 2ft. Now find it a bit tiny. No choice lor. Our study desk (in black and white). The suspended box will be our future book shelves. Our shoe cabinet. It's 7.5 ft long. Can you imagine how many pairs of shoes do we have. Kitchen cabinet in all black. I know we will have a hard time cleaning next time. But we just like it black. Bcos of the limited worktop space in our tiny kitchen. Have asked my ID to make a pull-out top for additional work space.
  19. you should envy my WTB. i'm just a small tenant in that area. post more pictures of your new place soon.
  20. Actually, we came out with our own layout plan. But we also steal ideas by talking to many many IDs. This is our original floor plan. This is what my WTB and I came out with after many rounds of revision.
  21. Hi, I bought from the one at Blk 23 Bendemeer Road. But they are many branches. I asked my electrician to fix. Actually it's quite simple. Only need to connect the battery and 2 wires. The wires are are pre-laid by HDB.
  22. i got a legrand door bell from choon chiang at about $18-20, can't really remember. small and sleek.
  23. 3rd to spam! welcome to the 3-roomer family.
