  1. Hire an ID if you don't know how you want your flat to look like. If you already have the concept and designs in mind, just hire a contractor, otherwise, you will be wasting money to hire an ID as a "site supervisor".
  2. A smooth start to renovation - http://ournewhomez.blogspot.sg/
  3. I also wanted to do the same. Have checked the installation and maintenance on websites and it doesn't seem very difficult. It depends on how the supplier install the "grass". Apparently, there are supposed to be a few layers, including sand, etc for draining water. Stains on the "grass" are said to be able to clean off easily with water and a little detergent. Let me know how you get on if you install and how much it cost? Thanks.
  4. Hope you like our blog on the renovation of our new home. http://ournewhomez.blogspot.sg/ We didn't published any of the IDs in our blog, as we didn't want to publicise for them, whether good or bad. But, if you want more definite details, just pm me ya.
  5. Has anyone had experienced working with the ID called Jords from i-bridge before? Any feedback will be most appreciated.
  6. Hey Melanie, We empathize with you, as we are in the same predicament as you have, although we didn’t reach the stage where we have to engage any legal aid (yet). Our ID also suddenly left the ID company, without a word. We had planned our new home with the ID for many months and even paid a deposit to get the designs on paper. Then, one day, the company just called and told us that the ID had left. Now, they have gotten another ID in their company to work with us. Same as you, the original quote ballooned by a few Ks. We are still trying to negotiate the price down and hope matters can be resolved. Otherwise, we may lose our deposit and have to start all over again with another ID company. Sigh…..
  7. We are getting the keys to our new 4-room DBSS soon. We have quotes from several IDs through Renotalk. Spoke to them and finally decided on one. They quoted us about S$21K for false ceiling works, curtain pelmets, TV feature wall & console, shoes cabinet, a mirrored dining wall, wall papers, painting and the general cleaning and haulage fees. Is S$21K for these a reasonable rate for a 4-room DBSS? Many thanks in advance for any constructive feedback.
