  1. Actually I so thinking and thinking, yesterday did another experience, use a key to scratch the marble and granite. Marble: got scratch mark. Garanite : no scratch mark. Maybe I go for granite...
  2. I never go there, that is why I ask around here...the response seem not too good.
  3. Yes SBH is easy to go there. If no car, take to jurong mrt, ake 183 (five stop), or walk (much faster if no children)...better still drive! BTW, beside sbh, any place go see? Other than balester adn sbh and sungei k..(too too far)??
  4. Hi Jamez Where is whitehorse? Yesterday went with my neighbours to their new home: 15floor, wow, almost all completed. Nice shoe cabinet, living room cabinet, kitchen cabinet all up (all dark brown colour), box up suggested area also up, with study table and drawer, etc...)...... Then managed to peak at blk 26c (85 m 4 room). Living room is not as long as 90m 4 room living room. Next week, many contractors will be here to renovate, then we will be able to see more!
  5. hahah...I am sure the tilers would like it very much to have skirting....you know, right to the edge, the uneven line can be cover it up with skirting....make their job more easiler. Hope the tilers who surf this web will not get annoyed!

    Granite

Thanks BULLET. Yes now I know why 1 contractor told one of the fourmer here that he is the only 1 in spore can remove the stain. hahahahahahaha... not no more, we also know and cost not a single cent to remove the stain.
  7. wow, use 2 chopper! Then I think only solution is to chop it on the floor! You know, sometimes, working stressful, use meat as a punching bag and 2 chopper, and chop chop chop chop with all your strength.......suddently cabinet give way. hahahahaha Ok sorry for the joke. Personally I feel safe to have sink and stove support. But dont know whether it cost extra to built those concrete stand.

    Granite

Hi Bullet Thanks for your extra information again. Last few days, I do according to what you advise us. Drip some dark soya sauce on Granite and Marble. Leave it for about 10 hours, then wipe it off. To my surprise, marble tiles did not suck up the sauce. Instead only granite tiles did suck up and has a black stain on it. Next, pour white bleach on the cotton wool and place on it, cover it up and let it for 2 days (3 days too long lah). Took out the cotton and wowla, the dark stain disappeared!! Took the granite and wash it with plain water. But then it left a very soft dark colour on the granite. Will check later if the colour goes back to the original. However, unable to test the marble lah. Stain cannot suck in!!
  9. Again again again thanks BULLET. I should give you a treat. I never thought of that. I immediately went around my house and see the skirting, yes.....dust......... For mbr and br1 or 2, there will be a built in wardrobe. But without skirting, seems not nice. Check my floor plan and only tv console is leaning against the wall, sofa, dinning table will not be against the wall. So, my problem will be tv console.
  10. Shortlisted 3 tiles: Imperial White Perlato Sicilia Marron hmmmm unable to download pic....

Thanks, BULLET, if the waterproofing is that expensive, then I will ask contractors to have it. Just to confirm, applying water proofing behind the tiles..means the surface that is connected to the cement? How about the top surface? So which is better, wet or dry laying?? So that at least I can let my contractors know what I want from them. Thanks!!!
  14. hahahah...if APPLE use to chop chicken and meat....chop chop chop!!!! Actually I also scare that it might give way in long run....
  15. Hi Apple No my present blk is not 94/95. Today to SBH to check and see some tiles. Will post the picture tomorrow.
  16. Hello Everybody Mine is under SERS, and probably will be getting my keys around late Nov, Dec or Jan 08. I am still waiting for the letters. To start the ball rolling, I have took a few photos of my present hdb flat in Havelock. Do enjoy the photos:

    Granite

Hi BULLET Is Marble tiles layout the same as Granite? I mean in terms of laying (wet)....and finishing touches with polishing only??? How about waterproofing?? Please advise and thks. HAPPY
  19. $45k is alot. There are lots of id/contractors sure want your business. If they dont want your business, I think something wrong with their head!
  20. I prefer this sink and stove support. THis is the point I did not miss when telling the contractor. Cos' I dont know whether the cabinet can withstand it for at least 10 over years or not. So, it is better to have concrete support. How you think?
  21. Yes walked pass by, window not up yet, but the 5rm unit coated in white paint. Maybe another 2 months. Wanted to go blk 25a to kpo, but did not cos' at least 5 contractors sitting outside...nuisance! Very restrictive! Maybe should ask HDB officers to ask to station further out.
  22. I am not sure, only know overlaying for floor tiles. But for wall, really not sure. Maybe you can write it down and next time, talke to id/contractors can ask them. After that, you tell us. But I will also ask my contractors about it.
