  1. Very nice place, and great idea on the wardrobe shelving. Too bad I already had my wardrobe done up else will copy it shamelessly. Hahah! Perhaps can do it in the bomb shelter. Do you think the shelving can tahan heavyweight stuff? Nice movie prints too!
  2. To source for my ID, what I did was firstly, to compile these information: 1. Existing house information (what kind of house it is, condition, expectation on what kind of work is required etc). 2. Some personal information (my hobbies, what I do/ don't do at home (cooking is lowest on my priority) etc). 3. Some photos of the current house condition, floor plan. 4. Current furniture that I have and plan to use in my new place 5. Mood board of images that I found on the internet (for the certain feel). These information was then submitted via the Renotalk portal (silly me thought that I can reduce effort from way off designs/ quotations) and also to some selected IDs that I hope to work with as I saw and loved their designs . From the renotalk portal, I think I got around 6 emails back (some with quotations so generic that I ignored immediately, some with requests for meet-ups which I rejected as they did not even take the initative to look through what I have put together painstakingly). In the end, only 1 ID firm got shortlisted and scheduled for meetup. From those selected IDs, I got more serious responses and I met up with 2 of them as well. Out of these 3 IDs, eventually one was selected (which was actually the first ID that I noticed and wanted to work with LOL). Shouldn't have gone through the whole process...haha but it's a good learning experience for me lah. He had the highest quotation, but overall he gave me the most confidence that he knows exactly what I want and will be able to wow me
  3. Hi your place is really coming together nicely! I have been looking around for that round mirror. Happy to see that it's from TB. Do you mind sharing the link with me? And do you think material wise it's ok to put the mirror in the bathrooms? Thanks in advance.
  4. Like others was debating with myself if I should engage an ID or contractor. Finally decided to engage an ID due to several reasons: 1. I am always traveling so I need someone to oversee everything. 2. Odd shape house. Need advise how to maximize space since the flat is already small. 3. Experience is king. Someone who can stop me when I veer from real life and goes to lala land in terms of design vs practicality. Haha 4. I want a cohesive feel to the whole place and make it as unlike HDB flat as possible. So with these in mind I went searching for one. Ps. Note that some parts were in retrospective as I am already in the mid/ tail end of my house reno.
  5. ok, I just realized that someone already started a blog with the same title, so my apologies to the other blog owner. I couldn't find a way to update the title or delete this blog... if someone can teach me how, will really appreciate it.
  6. Hi all, Have been following this forum for a while and finally decided to use this CNY period to create my own t-blog. Hopefully I am able to keep the momentum and complete the blog. Gong Xi Fa Cai, Huat ah! As usual, the floor plan....I fell in love with the location, even though the layout of the 4 room flat is weird...
