  1. hahaha, 1 needle see blood... meeting my main con friend this weekend, see what he can sponsor
  2. understand. will wait for key collections then start to get the contractors to view onsite. guess by then the plan should be more or less finalised and can know better how much $$ will run from my bank account to his bank account...
  3. this one gotta heavily depends on luck liao...
  4. cos different block will be completed at different timing and handover to HDB different timing. So all will renovate at different timing. So it will happen that eg. block A collect keys and block D still doing internal fittings. so by the time 1st batch from block A completed reno, block D just started to reno.
  5. HDB website updated the PCD from 1Q 2016 to 4Q 2015! But I dont intend to reno so soon cos all neighbours must be all renovating and then the dust... :x Next year after CNY maybe better?
  6. haha, i rmb, page 1 u already shared with me on the idea of conceled bathroom door.

  8. Not a must to have skirting. Depends on what flooring you have. If I recall correctly, need skirting if homogenous tiles, dont need if vinyl. Why? something along the line of water seepage but exactly how... I dunno ?_? with skirting, it takes up certain floor area and when placing your furniture, it cannot be fully against the wall. There will be some gaps due to the skirting. So for those without skirting, you have more floor space. So, not weird. Best is consult your ID / contractor for their professional advice.
  9. Think bathroom basin is standard. I was unable to opt in for OCS but I have basin + toilet bowl.
  10. Bad review about ME Starmex... http://www.renotalk.com/forum/topic/65977-bad-experience-with-mitsubishi-electric-starmex/
  11. I like the manhatten flat! and it really maximised the space and even with 10 pax, it still looks spacious enough. Like that it divides into 2 rooms with curtain so each will still have their privacy. Most liked is the pull out table that can act as the working desk with storage space beneath. Maybe I can consider having a curtain at my day bed so that guest will have his/her privacy? I like the idea of having everything kept within a cabinet rather than exposed. So I seriously think that I will be having many cabinets... and that means my $$ goes to the carpenter's pocket... >_<
  12. wow! kyooko! you have put in lots of effort on your thinking process and creating that video! Looking at the movable hidden bed, reminds me of the office storage system where we have rows of cabinets side by side and you need to row the cabinet out to retrieve the files. I remember that there are tracks on the floor leh... In your video clip, there is no signs of the track. So how do you intend to move your cabinet out?
  13. I am still puzzled. Bi-fold door when opened, it is folded and also half the size. the only difference I see is the circumference. bi-fold door needed a slightly bigger circumference than PD door. But no impact as we need the space to walk through anyway... Or is it because of the track? Bi-fold door requires a track below and on top whereas PD door only requires a track on top? Varying, cant wait to see your pictures! Have a safe trip!
  14. actually for PD door vs bi-fold door, both take up similar space right?
  15. our 2-room units already very small, dark colours will make it look lagi smaller. Although I also like dark colours and light colours will be difficult to maintain as dust and particles are easily spotted, but I am still going for a lighter tone. For aircon, we used to know Daikin and Carrier as the leader of the market but they seems very quiet recent years. while Mitsubishi Electric has been very agressive in promoting their air-cons. But generally it sees good reviews for Mitsubishi Electric or Mitsubishi Heavy Equipment. I have used Carrier previously and now using Fujitsu. Both are ok to me.
  16. u can consider this for your room divider too. Note that in the services provided page, they did not state any warranty period. And, I m amaze that the household shelter can put a single size bed?
  17. I like the idea of curtain. Not string curtain but real curtain. Think a thick enough curtain shd be able to contain the cool air within the room better. and when you draw the curtain to the side, does not take up much space too.
  18. Main con handing over to HDB on 15 Aug, keys hopefully within the next 2 mths. I think can change main door and metal gate. saw quite a few owners changed theirs. just note that the main door has to be fire rated or something like that.
  19. yes. perfect opening for the little creatures?
  20. Yes, that is the actual unit according to him and yes, I do like the grey tiles they used. Same tiles for the kitchen too! better than some more dull reddish tiles I saw on other BTO cannot choose OCS so no bedroom door and no tiles in living and bedroom. but there are tiles in kitchen and bathroom. But I dislike the colour of the main door and metal gate. but is ok, can close 1 eye on that. I also get to face the BIG window when doing my biz...
  21. Do you know which is the main contractor for the BTO project you are applying? Can try to check the reputation of the main con and probably you can get some idea. but still heavily depends on luck. My main con is China Construction. Yes they are a china company but they have been established in Singapore for many years. I was working in a building material supplier company in 1999 to 2001 and China Con was our customer. And luckily my secondary school friend is the Project Director of my BTO project. He should have taken special care of my unit but too bad I couldnt choose OCS during flat selection as it were balance flats. He also help to took some picture of my unit. The bathroom that is giving all of us the biggest headache...

  23. this is a blessing in disguise. you rather the contractors disappear and shown no interest in taking you project right from the beginning rather than they delay or mess up your reno right?
