  1. My friend bought their sofa & dining set from Commune for their new place. Looks good! Never hear any complain from my friend...so should be okay haha. Saw in fb that they just open a new outlet at IMM. Ya i saw the HN's furniture section at millenia walk too. But didn't really take a good look the last time i went. Maybe should check them out again Have you heard of Star Living? They have a huge showroom at Labrador Park MRT. The last time i went (last year), i remember they have a lottttt of dining sets. I might be checking them out too before making any decision
  2. Hi guys! Anyone buy from Castlery before? Any reviews? Been browsing their website and shortlisted their sofa & dining table set ... but haven't go down to their warehouse to take a look at actual products.
  3. I can upload photos directly from iPhone. Just need to do screen-shot to reduce the photo size, and view Gallery as full version.
  4. Ya. When the other ID that charged S$4k for 3 bedrooms screeding alone... i thought it's outrageous. haha. It's weird right...if buy resale, the entire block were built w/o prepacked cement. But when renovate it, need to use prepacked.
  5. Hacking of Wall Yay the wall is down! Our ID just took these photos & sent to us ... So these 2 weeks will just be laying of living room floor tiles + MBR bathroom wall tiles. Can't wait to see!

  7. Layout This is more or less the layout of our place (lighting points not included)
  8. I bought it at S$649 just the sink alone. It's stainless steel satin polish. Dimension here.
  9. I get what you mean now! I know my tiling cost include prepacked cement but i am not sure it's part of the screeding. But now i re-look at my quotation... it did state the word "screeding": "...include pre-packed cement screeding" hahaha oops! Thanks for clearing this up for me!
  10. Meaning homogeneous tiles need the floor to be screed too? Mine is a standard BTO, hence i can opt-out for floorings. I thought the bare floor (rough) can lay homogeneous tiles directly...no? For me, I appealed for them to screed the bedrooms for us only, so my ID will lay the vinyl tiles later. A bit confused now haha...
  11. HAHAHA i think our hubby have no choice but to give us more space? As my WIW is not very big...i foresee I will occupy 2/3 of the space Last time we also thought of getting a king size bed. But after taking a look at the home gallery at TPY HDB hub...we gave up the idea and went for queen size instead... cos really quite tight >< My MBR bathroom basin have something like the anti-drip edge! Actually I didn't know it's for anti-drip...i thought it was just part of the design hahaha. I think doing it for kitchen will be very ex uh? Since have to custom-made... Oh my living room is using homogeneous tiles so no need to screed. PM-ed you!
  12. Hello! Actually you can get storage headboard from other mattress shops too... not limited to ikea. Mine have storage below my mattress Ya I also saw someone did the tape thingy & thought it was a brilliant idea!

  14. I think the additional cost of screed depends on which ID/contractor you engaged. For mine, if i get my current ID to screed the 3 bedrooms, it will be additional $1k...which i find it's acceptable. The other ID which we had terminated charged us a whooping S$4k just for screeding 3 bedrooms (exclude tiles)! Reason he gave: prepacked cement more expensive & difficult to lay...hence labor cost increase. As much as I do understand this is something HDB required and there is no way ID firms can ignore...i think $4k is a bit too much. So be careful of the prices quoted to you for screeding if you are still looking for IDs... to make sure you don't get "tok". Yup we're hacking a small part of the kitchen wall (2ft) to expand the area for Dry Kitchen. We will be putting glass panels too! It will be the separation between Dry & Wet Kitchen Nope not hacking 1 of the rooms. Was back & forth on this because i want a WIW... but also scared it will be very squeezy if i put it inside MBR. But i want the other 2 rooms to be kept empty for Study & Guest room later (my family stay in the west...so would be loved to have them stayover once in awhile). See the measuring tape? I asked my ID to tape the exact dimension on the floor for me to see / step into...so i can determine is the space okay - both at sleeping area & inside WIW. For mine, it seems good! Won't have huge space at sleeping area but still enough to put 2 bedside tables.
  15. Timeless Cozy Corner: Pre-Renovation Front of our living room. This will be where our shoe cabinet & TV feature wall will be... Left: Our sofa area | Right (at the back): Our dining area DIning area / Kitchen Entrance We will be hacking a small part of the wall at the kitchen entrance to create a Wet & Dry kitchen concept. MBR Walk-in-Wardrobe area MBR Bathroom shower area We will be having a frameless tempered glass installed here. Common Bathroom shower area We decided not to put in glass panel for common bathroom for ease of using (e.g. fill water pail for mopping...)
