  1. It is your recipe ma. I thought your rose is nicer. I used almost all the same ingredients except for the whipping cream, lemon part and another ingredient which was not in the recipe. Digestive biscuits nicer and softer to eat together with the cheesecake, I didn't even use oreo cos I find that oreo biscuits are harder for a base I also learnt to do non bake chilled cherry cheesecake from my mum's friend but no photo yet. Kekeke, when your place ready, I come over and eat yours and I give you mine to eat.
  2. Hello all, Recently improved my cheesecake based on Newnyew's recipe. Remember how I posted my first attempt at the cheesecake recipe and it was just passable? First attempt a few months back - a passable and pale cheesecake as a result with a few modifications. Decoration was so so. Second attempt over the weekend - More improved with 1-2 modifications and tasted better with positive feedback from my family. Tried to recreate Newnyew's rose decoration. Also attempted to do a strawberry version of the japanese cotton cheesecake over the weekend too, first attempt wasn't fluffy for the japanese cheesecake type. Didn't take the picture of it. PS: please don't ask me for the recipe, ask Newnyew for it.
  3. I've never seen so many holes on the walls after hacking but seriously, since its HDB appointed contractor... you can arrow back to HDB for sloppy work and ask them to take responsibility for the walls if anything happens. One forumer had problems with the ceiling and complain to HDB about the ceiling having moist patches and the paint coming off also if i remember correct. In the end HDB had to hack the ceiling and redo it after it was proved that it had nothing to do the paint whatever excuses coming up.
  4. Nice atmosphere but lighting is a bit dim for the guestroom though, is that the only lighting?
  5. Wow.. show pics of your main wardrobe OK?
  6. Lucky is your future wife. You will make it easier for her to keep things clean and tidy. Yeah I agree with Reiki, I just wish I have a bigger cupboard so that it will be easier to organise clothes just like that. Btw your wardrobe has any drawer or shelves below the clothes part? I'm going to KIV this simple arrangement for my NEXT cupboard design
  7. I think she can post pics of the result of her baking with the products to see how it looks like after using the bakeware product. Like doing a photo-demo.
  8. So organised, your things. I wonder if you are the neat type? I think your place needs some greenery, some b/w photos of yourself taken on vacations. A pet would probably inject a warm feeling into a home.
  9. Ahhhhh... Pictures do NOT lie at all. If your contractor is reading this, customer service comes first. Feedback is very important, not to mention rectifications for problems is a necessity. When others are happy with the workmanship, they will give you more business. The taiwanese for eg; before my taiwan trip, the hotel was booked without any deposit made & they still keep the room for us even though there was a delay in our flight schedule. Now this is business integrity and customer service on their part. Newnyew has indeed given some positive feedback on some of the works and not all are seriously negative also. Newnyew & Malcolm, things will be ironed out with time so cheer up.
  10. Yup I saw already but the products is very limited. To be honest, I think your wife will earn more from baking sales than the products itself if the demand for the bakeware products is not high. Singaporeans are food lovers and so are people from other countries. Food is always in demand, just that a bakery is not cheap to maintain. The macarons are most likely her better selling point for food gifts.
  11. Newnyew, don't close the thread leh. My take on the whole thing is as long as you have a CLEAR conscience and nothing to be afraid, then the unhappiness by others is clearly a sign of a guilty conscience and alot more to hide esp if the party concerned is the one responsible for your reno woes. For me, if I have such experience, I will go all ahead and post everything and say it outright- this is a forum for sharing and everyone esp contractors/firms/IDs reading such posts have a duty to learn. Remember, customer is always KING in the line of service or else where you all earn your living from?
  12. I think it would benefit her if she joined a few forums to post her bakewares- promote awareness among a community of people with baking as a passion. Why don't your wife check the tax 'cos I think if the supplier is willing to give her a discount for bulk purchases, she will benefit alot more this way but it depends on demand vs supply first. She goes all the way to KL.. so power to make the trip everytime.
  13. Like that not jobless since she can make a profit from selling bakeware stuff and her creations. The profit will be small if counting in the factors such as the cost of a air ticket to go overseas when she could really source for a supplier who can ship to her? Isn't it more cheaper?
  14. Woo my baking don't even cause the bill to shoot up even if i bake 2 times -3 times in a month. Main causes could be non energy saving sources like lightings, and of course the fluctuating PUB bills due to the warmer months. Warmer months can cause alot of energy to produce electricity, a fine example is aircon
  15. Yeah true true. familyof4, sort of. I looked at the coach sprees and KS seems very popular on SMH. I only bought a wallet with coral trim from one of the BP threads recently. Mostly looking at dresses and clothes lately. Must save! Its ok for guys to gain weight lah but women must be sexy so as to tie their men down for good besides food and a home. Tell that to your hubby kekeke. I'm kinda watching my waistline cos I can gain weight easily esp if I'm baking goodies.
  16. Haha If i save up, i be more likely to save up for my coach stuff. Now poor from my shopping spree in Taiwan already. Need to pyscho my hubby to buy leh.
  17. I am so jealous! It won't as long as you cut out the shape properly. See first page for the photo of my chip N' dale cookies after being baked.
  18. At least can cheer you up right? kekeke Dale Carneige belongs to the category of motivational speakers with those kinda human touch stories, doubt you want to read them if you have read similar ones? Basically the meaning behind every story like those stories in Chicken Soup. It's ok to be naive but its not ok to make yourself da** miserable over worthless things.
  19. Sounds good to me. I think a happy partnership is still possible provided that a compromise is reached. Have you read Dale Carneige books? (I know this is corny the next sentence) When the morale is low, find positive attributes to increase the morale. Morale, Motivation are the main basic communication pointers. No one likes to point fingers and it can be very depressing for you too. Just take things easy with a pinch of salt because 10 years later you can look back and laugh the mistakes, experiences off 'cause a lot of things will change in a span of decade.
  20. Hmm, not everything are perfect in reality and minor imperfections are ok since not obvious to the eyes. I must say you and your husband has been bearing very well with the inconvenience throughout all. Don't lose heart also since everything will turn out well 'cos I see from the pics alot of things have been done decently despite some problems. Your barcelona chairs look cosy~! Any matching side tables to go with them?
  21. Here's the shots of the Hello Kitty Cookie Cutter I bought from Taiwan. If I remember right.. the hello kitty cookie cutter in sg now has a bigger kitty face shape in comparison. The patterns is also different. In fact the cookie cutters for other cartoons here in sg are bigger than the ones I saw in taiwan This one here is smaller in shape.
  22. I'm using the Panasonic oven which is also a conventional oven. You might want to look at microwave cum convetional ovens. Bellings is a popular choice for baking, roasting, grilling besides others. It depends on your budget so go and check it out at courts, harvey norman for more comparisons.
  23. The kenwood series are worth it cos the mixing bowl is deeper compared to other mixing bowls for other mixers. Even mine which is Cornwell brand, can only tahan 10min cos it will heat up if used too long, so can only give it a rest for a while before using again. In this case the kenwood mixer can use longer. Pretty good too Kmix is sooo cute I also heart it too but really really ex.
  24. Aw... that's a kenwood mixer? I want to get one but bo $$$ for it. Got to KIV first
  25. Zerochristy, I think this cookie press is similar to those piping design as the way its supposed to be used right? If so, then the dough is not supposed to be semi-hard dough like those dough for noodles... 'cos the mixture is supposed to be similar to those semi-stiff icing cream. I just got back from taiwan and I bought a cute hello kitty cookie cutter. Actually there's hello kitty cookie cutter design in sg now but the pattern is different. Will post pict of it tomorrow
