Im not sure if they have other characters cos I was fixated on the tree before me. Bought it from Jurong Point, Basement. There's this japanese store in the other corner where popular is. You will spot the store cos the trees are out on display. I upload the pic tonight okay? Im in the office now so can only upload at home when I get home.

I also bought a small xmas tree that comes with lights (glow coloured lights in the shape of doraemon faces haha) for 20+ only. Those kind that turn round and round while the lights glow into different colours if switched on A simple smaller tree minus decoration is about 3.80 while those with glow colour lights are about 20+

Sounds good. I go and check it out. My vacuum cleaner broke down again 2nd time and its not even a year yet. The 1st time it broke down, white smoke came out and burning smell like that because of the stupid motor. 2nd time same problem even though the motor has been replaced. And carpet cleaning svcs is very expensive too.
-
Yo, just to check with you, that vacuum cleaner u bought is a karcher model right? Can this model clean the carpet effectively as well as I heard from a friend on the pros of karcher models

Great to see that you're optimistic now. Always have a positive outlook in life for that is your beacon of hope & faith.

Yes I remember that, it was a very interesting topic on our perspective of life in many ways. It is indeed easy to give advice but to practice the advice is another thing. But anyone could do it if the determination to overcome hurdles is there. I too have my own challenges in life with limited options in today's society although nothing is impossible. But compared to you, you are still very lucky in spite of the troubles you have currently. Every little thing counts and that makes a big blessing in a way. So smile even in the face of life's trials along the way. No matter what, never doubt yourself because you are the one who holds the future in your palms 'cos the decisions you make can either make it good or break for the worse in your own life. That's why you got to keep going.

Ya will do that for next renovation in 5-10 yrs time hehehe. Btw your laminate from supreme is african black.. is it AC3 Or AC5? Hehehe the difference in quality lies in which grade your laminate is of, that why
-
Mwerkz, where got? My place is nowhere swee as yours la cos I never do any major renovation for my place (see my signature). Only the basic renovation like the flooring & kitchen carpentry. Paintworks were done by me and my hubby. Have been living in my place for almost a year now.

mmycheng, i think can answer your feelings in one word le... "HOUSEPROUD" is more apt for first time home owners esp newlyweds. A home is a safe and personal haven to lounge, go home to everyday & best, privacy. That's what makes it even more special, so can understand why

Then, my dear ranval... PICK YOURSELF UP! If you're already prepared for the worst, then why don't you prepare for a positive & better outlook. Its better than having regrets in the end. All that negative energy can be converted to positive energy & best utilized than wasting the energy away.

Having a positive outlook is good for you. Look at Jacelyn Tay. She went bankrupt back then. Now? She's a discharged bankrupt with a new slate of life a few years later in the present with a thriving beauty & holistic care business. Not many will find immense strength to get out of a financial rout so quickly and within a few years somemore but it is possible to do that if one is willing to pick him/herself up. The thing is that you have to make future plans for the aftermath, say whats after a career of flying, whats next in the future?

Your home so swee. Can only

It is not silly at all, in fact anything can happen to any of us here be it good or bad luck though. Washing away of bad luck, some say to bath with pomelo leaves or holy water but this again is only a measure to give one relief and starting of life anew. As for depression, why not try mediation, something like yoga? Firstly, yoga has many benefits.. a few i could name are basically improving health, lifestyle.. and improving the mindset as it is similar to mediation in many ways. Also it helps you to hone your pain tolerance further too. Also, you should adopt a positive outlook, look out for some healthy activities as well. Another method you can try is acupuncture for your pain. But im not entirely sure if it is 100% effective since I dun know this treats pain tolerance? For your wedding, whether to follow those old folk's pantang customs, there is this word : "Compromise" I mean when it involves customary wedding, there is no way you can totally avoid the traditions of your family and his family too. This you should discuss with your hubby better. Gives you peace of mind esp if you can reach a consensus right? Do take care of yourself, ranval.

lol. the voodoo knife holder is a little big to be sitting under the dishrack due to height cos the dishrack is mounted slightly above the sink tap. Plus my hubby prefer compact knife holder.. So its not the problem of not having enough space on countertop
-
Ranval. if you need contacts for MUA, can let me know. Think you people will be really busy seeing to alot of details from customary exchanges between families and all that including sudden last min changes esp if both sides are hosting a customary dinner for the first time. I had this headache here and there in between recently. Darrenelle, sorry to hijack the thread hehee.

The food fair is at suntec actually. And there's also the bookfest plus the shoes & bags sale i think? You see the best place to put the knife holder is just below the dishrack which is suspended. The voodoo man is a little big to be placed underneath the dishrack for one thing. It would be nicer if the voodoo man was a little smaller on the scale actually which is why not compact.
-
Bookfest is at suntec. should be on the 5th floor. Ya, the price for the trolley is $9.90, usual price is $15 but today is the last day of the bookfest. Popular is the main bookstore that is involved in the bookfest, so should be sold at popular if you want to get it anytime.
-
mwerkz, was at raffles city earlier on since I was at the bookfest & food fair at suntec. They only have the red colour stock & the voodoo man holder is not compact in my hubby's opinion but ya the knives are really sharp. In the end never buy it.
-
how are your wedding prep for next year? Darrenelle, that small trolley is in singapore now. I was at the bookfest and saw the mini trolleys. They had this promo for buy 2, get 1 free hehe.

Hehehe my parents never say much, just that is a little dark but was pretty cool with it. Only my PILs felt the colours were a little sombre since we have maroon, dark grey & light grey, purple colours in the house. Only cheerful colours are the green colour tiles in the kitchen & the baby blue for the MBR. Yep, green is said to help improve eyesight esp for elderly folks.

Post pics of your home complete with furniture. Hehehe.
-
Then it truly is a harmonious combination, a true reflection of your rs with your hubby even with the ups and downs of life.

Hapimint, your mum is so good to buy the lights back from china all the way leh. I like your plum-red kitchen colour, very nice. I think scratches on white top will not be that visible, I have black counter top and scratches can be seen already. Reflective black glass should be okay since it has a "glossy" effect from the light reflection on it actually. And it matches with your kitchen cabinet colour & white counter top too. It honestly doesn't make your kitchen look dark. In fact your kitchen looks spacious even with a long L-shape.

Cnet is known to be more of tech review site than a commercial household review site from what I see. But the user rating part in reviews on cnet is not really a good indicator, IMHO. Just look at other review sites like hwz where there are threads for different products mainly for user reviews on the "good & bad" It holds more water this way.

Your living room feature wall paper is very cheerful, easy on the eyes. In fact green colour is great for the eyes too that is what I know. Your home already gives me the playful, cheerful mood despite the black colour in your place cos of the sunny kitchen & the green colour in living room.
