Greycat: It's a 'he' lol. but dis dog very naughty when it comes to its poo & pee business hor We had the ikea ppl do the installation since we got them to do the delivery of the items that are heavy to carry back. However drilling charges by Ikea is really ex! Total drilling charges is about 41 dollars. But no choice since we do not have any drilling bits and besides we have kitchen tiles too. If intend to engage ikea to do drilling, you have to sign an indemnity form so that Ikea will not be liable for anything that is caused by drilling. Anyway from what I observed, its not hard to drill with drill bits if you have but have to be careful not to hit any concealed wiring behind the kitchen tiles. Skywolf : The long one which is about 120cm is about 35 dollars while the shorter one, 80cm is about 29 dollars. Total cost spent for the shelves is 93 dollars. You can even get the metal hooks which Ikea sells too. 5 dollars for 5 hooks. Ex right unless you get other cheaper hooks to hang pots and whatever misc stuff under the racks.

This is so funny, HDB provides doorbell switch but no buzzer. I don't see the logic in this since they provided the doorbell switch. I mean, it is a new flat and if everything comes with the switches/plugs then it should be logical to provide the buzzer if doorbell switch is included in the flat in the first place. The process of rectifying the defects is just unacceptable. If not enough manpower, at least settle the major defects first so that the minor defects can be settled at another time. That is what happen for us, so cement screed became top piority together with the defects 2nd piority since we'd did not do major renovations. But kinda fortunate that the major defects were rectified during the period HDB came to work on the cement screed.

Wah POWER! can fight kekeke. Must be that donut was meant to be with you and ran As for the cross breed part, your hubby can ask his friend about it. Donut and Oreo, 2 addictive and 'fattening' food types leh. No wonder got so many dognappers waiting for both!
-
To each his her own, so no worries about that. Just live life to the fullest! The grundtal shelves have only been up since saturday. But so far still stable as far as I can ascertain. Heheh have to see whether can hold up for a long period?
-
Hmm what's your hubby's animal year? Very few animal types clash with the year of the rat from what I heard according to my parents in law. I'm not that 'pantang' but sometimes it pays to pay a little heed to certain 'pantang' stuff for alleviating one's personal concerns ma
-
Hmm then it must be why my own dog is the one-owner type. Ie; always coming to me and staying by my side all the time whenever I'm back to my parents home even though I may not be staying with my parents now. I do miss my baby but then my dog would be good company for my parents better now that I'm not around much. Keke, thanks for the info on the hush puppies dog. Both cockeral spaniel and the basset hound have one thing similar. "soulful eyes" sia. Btw I just looked hard at donut's pic and realise hor, donut's nose is not so flat as most shih tzus have I wonder why?
-
LoL is up to you and your bf leh. keke who knows you both might end up settling down one fine day. I know I sound very Ah Ma-ish
-
Hmm im not sure, it sorta reminds me a bit of the basset type. Your friend's dog is really dao one. Wonder what did your friend do to 'chain' the dog exclusively to her? !!
-
No wonder so long. I'm glad I didn't have to wait too long for the defects to be rectified since my defects were minor. In fact it's the long wait with HDB over the handover that nearly make me want to buay tahan. Cos should have got my keys earlier then but it drag till the 4th month then finally announce can get key.

Is Purple Too Much For The Living Room?
BunBun replied to fifteenmay's topic in Living, Dining & Storage
Must say that the colour for the walls when first entering looks reminiscent of the cool charming modern country feel with a tinge of victorian style cos of the gate grills and the white main door leh. While for the feature wall, your purple is stronger than my study room's but overall looks good. The thing is I can't see any tinge of grey or purple on the rest of the walls if its lilac frost. Looks normal white to me. -
So long?????? My defects were rectified during the time HDB came to do cement screeding & hacking and retiling the comon toilet. Even the chipped tile in the kitchen was changed also. Only thing is they took slightly longer like a few more days to fix the MBR vanity top only. The only thing left is the spray marks on the wall outside next to main door cos the person HDB hired to paint the main doors of the units a new coat before handover, didn't do a clean job during spray paint. Btw ask you all. The doorbell thing, HDB provides the door bell switch but not the buzzer for new flats ah?

Ranval : No prob. When I go back to my parents' place, I take a pic of my dog. Cockeral spaniel is similar to those hush puppies dog mascot. Can't remember the breed type but it should be an english breed if im not mistaken. Cockeral spaniel is very gentle and charming but a bit smelly though. My parents' neighbour used to have several cockeral spaniels and they kept mating that they had to give away the puppies & the dogs too. Think they cannot afford to keep too many dogs and it was where I got my dog from. I bought it from my good friend who's also my parents' next door neighbour. My dog has a body with short legs like its father, the face like its mother except the snout is smaller but not flat like the shih tzu's snout. So you can imagine a very unusual cross breed between a shih tzu & a cockeral spaniel cos cockeral spaniel has longer legs than the shih tzu. LOL Shih tzus are very friendly by nature. It's just that it takes time for dogs to get adjusted in a different environment with human company. Can you imagine the pets being in a cage or behind glass compartments looking so forlorn and sometimes dao type? It's the environment that changes even a human not to mention animals.

Every individual's diff with preferences for lifestyle ma, its not a matter of whether can or not live with each other based on lifestyle. It's a matter of compromise, give and take. Otherwise how to stay together for a lifetime? !!

Earnest-Interiors
BunBun replied to okynot's topic in Renovation Contractors, Interior Designers & Suppliers Reviews
Not bad leh, looks condo-ish style. I was wondering whether it was an exec condo cos the exterior of the building and the bigger windows look sooo nice. Why don't HDB buildings look this good after all we all pay alot for just a flat ?! !! -

Hmm, your flat is an exec condo or a condo? Doesn't look like a HDB flat to me totally looking at your photos. -
Mine is also the same, 'inherited' it cos its actually my hubby's dog. Since he shift here from my parents in law place, he's been rebelling at every rules we set for him as part of his training. Too spoilt by my parents in law. I wonder what else can I do too. Btw, ranval, my own dog which is with my parents now is a cross breed of a shih-tzu(father) and a cockeral spaniel(mother) Don't have a current pic of it as the only pic of it was in my old phone before I changed phone. Can tell you the temperaments of a shih tzu. The shih tzu is an excitable one, extremely noisy and too friendly at times. Believe all small dogs are like this except for the doberman pincher and chihuahua. They make up more in the power of their barks in compensation for their sizes. But if comparing to a JRT, the JRT is more excitable than a shih tzu that is.

Easy, just ask ur future hubby to paint the ceiling, you just help him to paint the walls. That's what I did. I tried painting the ceiling in study room and cos im petite, end up having paint splattered on my face as i walk to and from with roller brush on the ceiling. hehe

Spinball, about Pang giap which u posted in here... BEWARE of pang giap. Applefreak and a few forummers who engage pang giap, 'kena' by them in the end due to their lousy workmanship & bad service. Can see applfreak's blog too
-
Hey spinball Yup bought the furniture in JB. Transport fee is not alot. Still cheaper than paying for the furniture + gst + transport in singapore.
-
Hmm I'm not sure if it will take a long time for claiming conservancy charges but got to have proof that that the contractors are causing the unnecessary delays ma. Can ask applefreak about it since she mentioned this somewhere else
-
Hey softballer, price is the main factor in most quotes but how comfortable are you with the contractor/ID to do your home. What's important is to check on whether contractor/ID is reliable or not first despite recommendation from friends/relatives or even colleagues. And then, sometimes there are hidden charges that you'd might not be aware so you got to be prepared to set aside a sum in case exceed budget. Other than that, I can't think of what else to add on?
-
I remember vaguely that applefreak mentioned before in a post that if the contractors delay etc etc, can claim conservancy charges from them on the basis that you're paying for nothing since haven't move in yet due to delays. Should try to speed up things ba or else bo bian 'harrass' them everyday when they can do the works I'm not sure if it applies to BSC's contractors?

Don't worry about the painting part. I'm sure that when you and your bf settle down together, both of you probably might do the painting together. Who knows the memories & the bond will be even better? Its better doing it with your loved ones.
