  1. Oops yes ma'am! You've given me the courage to chase, didn't want to appear too pushy, bleah.
  2. @Catt Don't know leh, been waiting 3 weeks for my quotes already. Is that long? Actually I like those kind of simple shaker that looks like just 2 pieces of wood slapped together with clean lines – I like 'em minimal. Hee, kinda modern but slightly rustic.
  3. Thanks for all that shaker encouragement guys! Sorry to hijack your thread @Catt ! I guess I'm just waiting for quotations now to find out exactly how expensive a custom kitchen is before I make up my mind! $$$$$$ zomg ;-v-; Most times, money is the bottomline isn't it, sianz.
  4. Thanks for the feedback @bykaraanne! Actually I scrolled through your pages again and found your hansgrohe amazeballs review that I wanted, ha. Cheers!
  5. No regrets! Kitchen's already looking very chio. Maybe your initial gut feel is right though – having too many bevelled (subway tiles + shakers) surfaces might look a tad busy, so don't worry – gives you something to look forward in your next apartment (before this one is lived in)! hahaha Did you find another gate?!
  6. @Catt Don't poison me laaaaaar Question: why didn't you do shaker cabinets if you like them too!!! *evil* Maybe this will help in my decision-making.
  7. Oooh thanks for the little ikea doors tip @Catt ! I was considering that! My options are — getting the contractor to do the external cabinet frames but to ikea dimensions, and get the ikea drawers + shaker doors to save some $. However, that opens up a whole other can of worms, because if die die have to do custom carpentry now, I can do really nice wooden laminates for the door fronts – which is something my bf likes as well and prefers i think – and shaker style cabinets might complicate that look. ARHGHHGHGHHG i don't know! I'm still waiting for my quotations to come in. So anxious.
  8. PLEASE DON'T - don't leave us hanging with no updates on this blog!!! We like to see you spend moneh. hahah By the way, thanks for the poof colours! Might go look see again.
  9. I can already see more splurges coming up inevitably! Just gotta match that sofa, .... and that bookcase.... and that..... hahaha *kaching*
  10. @Catt totally justified, haha! But for someone who splurged on an OM leather sofa, and caesarstone countertop, ermmmmm... hahahha
  11. @Catt right right RIGHT!!! Although I am terribly disappointed now because 1 of my kitchen walls that I intend to line with cabinets is a bomb shelter wall. Spoke to the AZ creative installer ladies, they were adamant that you can't install ikea metod shelves on those walls (as you gotta mount the suspension rail), so with that — my ikea kitchen dreams has been killed. Those reading lamps are like GORGEOUSNESS btw Checked out Tan Boon Liat last week and I was astounded at prices as well. My rude introduction to crazy expensive furniture, think i've been doing my budgets all wrong! hahahha But Pomelo is sooooo <3! Wanna get everything in there. What other colours were left at Make Room for those poofs, do you remember? Wondering if I should jump the gun and start buying stuff, hiaaaaak hiak hiak
  12. Hi @bykaraanne sorry if this has been asked to death but i can't seem to find it in your 30+(!!!) pages of threads! How big is the showerhead and the pressure's been fine for you? I'm afraid of being too greedy and over-reaching by getting a head too large to find the supposed rain shower in a miserable dribble! Also, is this the Raindance range or the Croma range? Thanks so much!
  13. OMG i just taobao-ed the exact term you mention.... YESSSSSSSS! Exactly what I was looking for
  14. Thank you thank you! I have been googling for 水泥吊灯 but they all turned out not so nice! Your planters look good, fingers crossed i can get some goodies... hiak hiak!
  15. Where did you get those concrete + grey planters??? And the super big one for your big twig. Very naise!
  16. @bykaraanne you are indeed the goddess of CLEAN!!! Thanks for the BioX tip! Good to know for the furries.
  17. Who am I kidding, I desperately want an ikea kitchen as @ricepapergirl well knows, been badgering her about it. I don't want to graduate from the scandinavian design school at all! Haha
  18. Nice! Waiting with anticipation -- but plants grow SO SLOWLY Will you introduce your cats?? Haha.
  19. So naise! OMG With all these proper furniture, congratulations you're officially transitioned into ADULTHOOD!!!! I still have my whole range of IKEA particle board tables with screwed on legs waiting to be discarded, can't wait for my own graduation! LOL.
  20. haha, i can imagine the appeal of those stringy bits for your cats, they can't help themselves! My bf also says if you've any loose cables hanging around, they will also be all over them! #cantfightcatinstincts
  21. I AM SO GLAD YOU'RE BACK!!! I wanted to grab the EXACT SAME granite slab with those marble-like streaks after you posted your kitchen countertop! Crap, it sucks that the polish & shine doesn't last (but thanks for posting this as a warning for rest of us noobs)! But I also can't believe that you actually went shopping for a new countertop and DISCARDED YOUR GRANITE?! Will you be reusing it somewhere else in your home? Are those water stains? I've heard that water stains (from setting down cups, etc) shows up super obvious on dark shiny countertops, hence some people are wary of it. Option 3 is the nicest IMHO! It's darker and sits well on your white island cabinets. 2nd option is nice too, but it looks more busy, but i guess water stains won't show up easily on it? Like the glass-less bathroom! I'm not having any for mine too, 'cause I HATE CLEANING GLASS STAINS, haha! Yours feels bright and airy, nicely done!
  22. It looks so different in the full blast of day light! Nice subtle hue of taupe-grey there gah! keep the pictures coming, quite exciting to see everything coming together. When will you move in?!??!?!
  23. Looking swee, Catt! Really like the kitchen - can't say it enough! Is purple or mauve the theme for the rest of the house? Can't wait to see your sofa being plonked in there. Why are you getting a lock-set? Are you not intending to get a digital lock (seems so popular on Renotalk)?
