hi all, ya i tink we a lot of us or rather shld b all of us shld have encountered the prob of the stained grouting (i supposed shld b the cement in between the tiles?) since the flats have been built for so long. btw, are the kitchen tiles grouting stained too? i know the living room ones are reali obvious but kitchen ones since the tiles are yellowish, din reali notice.. anyway, below are some of the items we submitted in our 1st list to hdb. the officer finally called me up yday. but earliest possible wkend appmt is nex sat - Main door & kitchen toilet door very tight and difficult to open. - Electrical supply box behind main door very loose and coming out of the wall. - All window ledge (after readin forum, i tink the correct word shld b hinge ) rusty - MBR window handle missing - Paint drip on top of switches & electrical sockets - Door stopper's magnet in all bedrooms loose - The screw on the right hand side needed to hang up the national flag missing in BR2 - Screw caps on socket missing in kitchen - Water drainage in kitchen cannot be opened. some of the items we also duno the correct terms for it.. very hard to report in words. tink muz wait til joint inspection then show it to the officer. however, we have not done detailed inspection for cracks, holes etc. this wkend MUST do it.. btw, has anyone asked hdb to revanish the parquet flooring?

hi shootmie, congrats on ur key collection although it's nearly a wk liao hee. so have u checked or submitted ur defects? free can come over look for us wah graciegal, serious ah? ur kitchen got so small till not even 20ft? cos i tink ours is very small liao leh.. and guess wat we stil exceed the 20ft measurement most ID firms give. wana do island kind oso cant and worst still, got a stupid area which is 凹进去 one.. duno u get wat i mean or not.. reali wastage of space cos not much can b done..haiz. look at our floor map u'll know. my blog luckily i dun reali cook..so ok la.. hello, actually got quite a gd impression of the ID i contacted before collecting the keys. on the day of keys collection ID sugg goin down to our house to take a look as well as help us check for defeats. i personally thought tat was very nice of him. however, been waitin eagerly from 16th jan till now stil no hear from him he stil told me on the 16th jan tat he'll call me the "next wk" but till now, not even a single call or sms !! very disappointed..was lookin fwd to it so much. haiz. either he's too bz or our budget too low

oic.. thanks for the enlightenment hee. hmm then tink reali muz check properly. find flooring rather impt, cos we wont be redoing the floor haa. but heard feedback too tat after hdb changed a few pieces of the tile, the shade of the colour is diff. alamak, like tat oso jia lat. ya i do agree tat some of the parquet has very obvious gaps in between. actually heard from an ID previously tat it all depends on how fussy we r. it's actually our rights to feedback everythin we r not hapi wif to hdb. whether they wana rectify or have some excuses for it it's up to them. but i heard they norm wan the owners to close one eye too, so they purposely take a long time to do the rectification. haiz, but after spending so much on our new home, surely everyone wans it to b in gd condition rite.. as for parquet floor polishing, i heard from the ID tat it's our rites to get them to do it..else if we engage others to do, gota pay for it leh. recalled an ID quoting us $550 for it. wah everythin oso $$

yo commando, wat's putty btw? !! pai sei pai sei a bit mountain turtle hee. wow u checked the kitchen and floor tiles already ah? we haven got the time to go knock on each piece to c if they are hollow or not. tink may have to do it after cny. u reali seem to have a long list..tink ours not so much leh.. or perhaps we did not check thorough enough. i recalled someone posting that by submitting the defects list online thru the hdb website, the rectification might b faster is it? but how to do it over the net? is it the "e-maintenance" thingy on the hdb website? i find the paintin quite bad also, all the switches has got those dried off paint drips on top, and door frames not well painted too. a lot of those small "dots" of dried up paint. duno if u guys get wat i mean. and i tink the plastering of walls uneven too. wonder if they wil rectify those. and also for the parquet flooring, it's supposed to b shiny is it? duno if can ask hdb to polish for us not.. hee

Hi, just wanted to check, for different IDs in the same ID firm, in this case ideal house, would they actually give different quotations? anyone has any experience getting quotes from diff IDs from ideal house? we actually got our quote from Mr K already, but juz tinking whether others might quote lower or not... but at the same time, doesnt seem to b very nice to do tat?

yo neighbours, been quite long since i last posted hee. quite busy these few days. anyway, juz some updates. we went down on wkends again. sat went to check for defects and sun went to wash the floor again haa. now a bit cleaner liao yeah !! tink with a few more wash shld b better hee. anyway, din reali check in details and jia lat, til now haven submitted our defects list! omg. to tink we collected the keys on 16th jan. now a bit worried duno how long rectification would take and thinkin might need to start reno only after "qing ming" hai. the major defects i tink would b some cracks on the main door, then our MBR window the handle is missing main door and main toilet door very tight, window ledge rusty, etc. once we complied the entire list wil post it up in the other defects thread. but tat day when we collected the keys, got an ID to help us take a quick look he said basically ours quite ok. now left with wall tiles and floor tiles haven check. very lazy leh haa. tedious to go and look at every single piece, but stil no choice gota do it man anyway, anyone confirmed ur ID/contractor? our search stil on but guess gota wait til after cny then resume liao...

no prob tat's some ideas from the various IDs we met also hee. yap, HHS = household shelter. and yes, dinnin table somewhere ard corridor window is one sugg. haa ur head gona b bigger after u meet up wif the IDs and cant decide on which one or find tat most of them are over ur budget.. hee. juz kiddin not meant to scare u !! at least for me, tat's the case lor. budget very limited and cant find one reali within our budget yet have chemistry wif haiz. so the search is stil on actually hor, duno whether u guys know.. the water and elect i tink it's pre-turned on already! cos we din apply for utilities yet, but when we went down last sun to wash the floor, tried turnin on the tap and there's actually water! stil headache where to get water from haa.. then when we were goin back tat time, went to open letterbox, there's a letter from SP inside tellin us they've pre-turned on utilities and we gota send them back the application form within 7days, else they'll discontinue the supply. so u might wish to try !! Congrats GraCieGaL!! finally the long wait is over !!

hmm taken some pics on sun.. but tink not too clear hee. view from our living room window.. nice & breezy! spent quite some time tryin to clean up the place and wash/mop the floor. actually thought dun have to do tat cos anyway when start reno oso wil dirty the place. but on the day when we went down to open door, met up wif an ID there to take a look at our place cos he said can help us to see wat the defects are. anyway, he din reali help us to look at the whole place in details but he did point out the common defects. and he told us to go down to wash the floor first so tat can c if any scratch marks on tiles etc. he said it's up to individual how high their tolerance is and c whether we can accept or not. but anyone here has any prob wif the yellowish/dirty line in between the floor tiles? i mean it's supposed to b white if we were to redo the flooring, but cos it's been done yrs back, there's a layer of dirt and appear ugly leh wonder if we could inform hdb abt tat then wil they help to change the tiles for us? oops sorry to post so much. anyway, here's the pic of the floor after hubby spent time and effort cleanin the floor with cloth. kudos to him cos i understand it's very tiring hee. aiya, but i forgotten to take the pic of the flooring b4 it's cleaned.. ok, time to nite nite!
