  1. Hi All A quick update. My coffee table and tv console were finally delivered. The delivery department's coordinator was extremely rude when she called up to arrange for delivery. It was not unexpected that the date was stuffed in my face with no chance for recourse on my part. She must be thinking I would be available all time any day. It was absurd! With regards to delivery itself, we took the advice of forummers here and stayed around to supervise. The logistics guys were rather helpful but the state of furniture was NOT up to standard. Coffee table and tv console were covered in a thick layer of dust. Glass & mirror surfaces were smudged with grime. Pheeph.. interior of the drawers had rubbish in them! Some of the glass drawers were also misaligned. As there were no major defects & we were extremely keen on terminating all connections with this company, my hubby advised me to close an eye on the alignment. This is what I get for paying so much!! To future forummers who might purchase items from life story/ living story/ fashion home pte ltd, buyers beware!
  2. With much info from this forum, my reno process had been pretty smooth flowing. That is, till I had a bad brush with Fashion Home Pte Ltd (Lifestorey/ Living story). A pity I did not come across this post before I went down & make my purchase. Through their advert on ST (I had also mistaken LifeStorey for LifeStory), I had gone down with the intention to purchase only a tv console. However, the saleslady pointed out there is a matching coffee table, so I took it on their 'PACKAGE' price. As I was in a hurry, I paid the full sum (their sales order states full payment for purchase below $2k.) without checking the details. That was a BIG mistake on my part. I reviewed the sales order again later to realise that the costs were NOT itemised. I re-tallied the amount quoted for the 2 items & discovered i had been 'overcharged' by a couple hundreds. So I called and wanted to verify. Here come all the bad vibes. 1)VERY POOR sales service i) I called 4 times, left my name, phone number, invoice number & requested for my sales contact to call me back for verification. Apparently, no1 passed the message & I did not manage to contact her till a week later. ii) In between, a lady from Fashion Home called to inform of 3 weeks delay in delivery & wanted to arrange for another one. (Note: During purchase, sales contact assured there were sufficient stocks in store so delivery would not be delayed.) She pushed 2 dates in my face, which I could not confirm in a whim. Requested for her to call back tomorrow but she bluntly INSISTED her dates & said she would be putting it down on the delivery form. How could she assumed I would be around to receive the goods?!! She did not even confirm the time. From past postings, I m expecting another delay.... 2) Dishonest Sales Staff By this time, I was dissed. It did not help I saw on following sat's ST that the item I bought now retailed at $599. They quoted me $999 initally & claimed it was much cheaper than the same thing they supplied to be sold at park mall!! The sales staff also quoted a higher price for a coffee table they advertised on ST that week, perhaps hoping I would not take notice. 3) Absurd Delivery & installation Charges- ADDITIONAL $100 Per item purchase When I finally got hold of their manager (who talks in an unprofessional tone & does not so much listen to customer before firing his rebuttals. ) without much avail of speaking with his staff, he blatantly stated that a $50- FIFTY DOLLARS delivery charge PER ITEM purchased & another $50- FIFTY DOLLARS per item installation applies! Most ridiculous thing he said was that this was the STANDARD practice for ALL furniture stores. As if I hadn't been looking around! 4) NOT allowed to change or void sales order After all the bad encounters, I had wanted to cancel this sales order and get a refund, be it in part, as I am worried there would be more issues upon delivery. The manager flatly said No & if I cancel, I would not get a cent back. Long post to share my bad experience with them. I hope any forummer who is planning to visit Fashion Home Pte Ltd/ Life Storey/ Living Story takes extra precautions before signing your purchase. Now I am getting even more concerned. What to do? Caveat Emptor if CASE cannot help.
  3. Hi bebebe Nice lights! Appreciate if u could share with me the locations where u find these lightings in bkk? M thinking of making a trip there too as I m looking for lights & deco for my new place. Enjoy the process of renovation!
  4. Gee... My Id prepped us that he will not be able to deliver the designs beforehand. so we will choose tiles first, he will match tile colors on the spot then come up with the design... Err... hope it will work out to the way i like ....
  5. Thanks hobbes187 & kajua ! For the sequence of work... I will let my ID know to go ahead & select tiles first, let him match colors on the spot then view the design works. Quite happy that we'r finally taking commencing reno with idealhouse. In my case, I had to top up quite a bit for the spillover tiles & carpentry required for bathroom & kitchen. However, our ID explained the constraints of package deal beforehand, so we were prepared to see the extra quotes. Frankly, Idealhouse did not provide the cheapest quote in our case, especially for items beyond their resale dream package. We decided to go with them cos hb was comfortable. Unfortunately, din get many freebies/ discounts from this chap leh. My id also mentioned if i managed to get a cheaper alternative elsewhere, by all means, take that up. Hence, my electricals r gonna be sub-con to another electrician.
  6. Good day to all! I am about to sign up with Ideal house for my reno works. Will be taking their resale package as I m almost revamping my first abode. Like to check with forummers who have already engaged them. What is the sequence of operation that your Id with Ideal House will propose? Reason I am asking. My Id (not Mr K, shall not mention name) will be hacking the house first after I told him my mom's preferred dates to 'dong4 tu3'. He then suggests we go buy tiles first before he comes out with 3d designs. He says he will try to match with the tiles I have chosen. I am quite concerned about this sequence of work cos I have yet to see the proposed design/ space planning for the house. It seems like jumping the gun. Knowing I am terrible with colors & conceptualization, I might pick the wrong things to create the effect I wanted. However, if this is usually the way it usually works, I have no qualms about it. dunno.gif Need advice from fellow forummers. Thank you very much in advance!
