Hi there, Skywolf... mine is done by Steven. Haha... Flooring is completed except for room laminate. Ceiling is half way there. Painting should start next week. =) -

It's a record. I did not call my ID for more than three days and have not gone up to the house to take a look for almost the whole week. All because of the very tight schedule and hectic plans for the past few months that made me fall sick finally. Down with fever and very bad headache., twisted my wrist also. Dr said I needed rest. I restored a little energy and went up to the house today. The electrical work in the kitchen. The L-Box for cove light is up! That grey panel is the headboard for the bed. Lights will be shining above. I wonder if the headboard is a bit high. But then again we are expecting a platform. The air-con trunking just below the beam, which makes our house ceiling even lower. Bf has been complaining that our house ceiling is very low. Oh noticed.... The windows at the living room is up too. The kitchen floor tiles. So glad that we redo it. It really worths it. It is exactly what we expected and we are happy now, at least. The pebble wash at the shower area in common bathroom. We went to IFC last week. We made the very first purchase for our furniture. This dining table from Lucano. One that both of us have no opinions about and love it at first sight. We ordered the smaller piece 150 x 85 in piano white.

i am feeling the flow in design for the house. Indeed, nicer with the subtle details.

I like the ceiling work!!

Hi there, the dark laminate/ parquet flooring will give your house a whole different look and white carpentry will definitely look stunning. Hey, will you be doing that bookshelf? Do you mind sharing how much did they quote you for it?

Hi there... I like your kitchen!!

Hush hush... don't cry... you have saved $$$ on hacking it and building another window....

Small Hiccups | Rojak Theme The very first thing after I reached my home and dropped my bag was changed and walked to our house to see the progress of the tiles work. Bf called me over the weekend regarding the kitchen floor tiles. It was not laid staggered which we wanted and according to Steven , we did not mention it to him. On my part, I remembered Bf didn't like 2x1 tiles even when Steven was recommending to lay it staggered till he saw an example in the magazine. That's what made us finally picked the 2x1 tiles. I choose to let it be a miscommunication. I want to hear solution. Very outrightly, we asked about the cost to hacked and redo. Most likely, we will split the cost. But now, I was thinking if we should go through the trouble and spend that additional few hundreds bucks. Decisions again. It sucks la. Anyway, some picture to share. 1) The kitchen I am talking about. Look! It's almost 3/4 done! The fridge and cabinet base is up also lor.... 2) Common toilet. One place that we did not really bother about and totally leave it up to Steven. We have NOT even seen a 3D drawing of it. It's quite a pleasant surprise, when we least expected it. 3) MBR toilet. The rustic tiles are up! Hmmm.... Bf thinks it's nice. I shall just say it's different. 4) Living. View from the inside to the living room. Suddenly, I realised the theme of our home.. it's ROJAK Theme!!

Thank you Virgo2829, Hobbes187, Babytan, Applefreak and Yang Guo!! Yah maybe smaller capacity fridge will require us to clear the food faster and bigger capacity will allow us to keep the food longer... Like the idea of getting a taller fridge leh.. since we have length to spare. Thank you once again, we'll put all of them into consideration.

Let's say it is about 370Litre dimension about 600x1700x620.

Need some advices help from fellow forum members who are using SMALL fridge. My ID designed this Kitchen layout for me. It's nice. But we are facing some questions choosing a right fridge. Our parents kept warning us to buy a bigger fridge as we will need it in the future. The size of the fridge is so crucial as it may make the place look cramp if we are getting it too big. Any fellow forum member here who are using a smaller fridge, could you all provide some feedback please? Is it enough for storage? Did you see a problem next time when you have children? Or those with children and small fridge, is it giving u storage problem now? Thank you in advance for any inputs!

Consider wallpaper? Anyway, all owners share same woes as we wanted it our way! Ha... Don't worry too much.
-
Personally, I prefer the 1st drawing for most area. Cos personally, I prefer clean lines and simpler cuts. I never like that glossy laminate finish for bomb shelter feature, as u can see from my 3D I only asked for a door feature instead. But Steven insisted that a full feature is nicer, so I told him that I am not going to laminate the full feature wall. I will be using wallpaper. If you have some cash to spare, maybe a full feature with mirror would be nice. I ever saw a unit in punggol, their designer designed a featured door only, with natural sands and stones. It's quite unique. You can consider too. Anyway, above are just my personal opinions to share. =)

that it turns out to be your liking.

Yes, it's good that he pays attention to that... but worries are inevitable.

Applefreak and BunBun Yeah, agree with that black is easier to maintain. White turns dirty easily in the toilet probably due to humidity as well. The 2 men (Steven and Bf) are quite wary of my response because because, I am a very troublesome one.. They make sure I am very certain of my choice before one thing will progress. Before laying tiles, Steven asked if there is anything to take note of. The only thing I mention is to make sure the lines must be very fine. Today, Steven was there before us. When we reached, the first thing he showed us was the gaps between the floor tiles and told us it's been laid so fine till it is so difficult to do the filling liao. Mr Bf was quite satisfied with work. Thanks Babytan
-
Thank you. Our ID asked if we want to fill the lines between the tiles with black or white. I have chosen black even though I understand it will give a very 3D effect to choose white. Now it looks classy but the other wall and floor would be a very rustic looking tile. Hopefully it does not clash.

Tiling in Progress!! After so much so much had happened, so much so much time wasted, so much so much changes, the tiling finally began on Monday. We met up with Steven at our house, supposedly to meet the air-con man but he forgot about our appointment . When we reached the doorstep, it's like wow!! The flooring is almost one third completed. There are 4 people working at the same time, one lay floor tiles, one screeding the wall, one laying MBR toilet tile, the other one... I am not too sure what he is doing. Ha... Anyway, some pictures taken in the noon with my camera phone. The Messy MBR The MBR Toilet The Living Room

Hi all, We are going to have a platform bed. Right now, the intention is to continue the same laminate for the bedroom floor up to the platform. Mr bf is thinking of wrapping it up with carpet for a softer feel. I wonder if there is any other material that can be used as well? Can anyone provide some suggestion or tell me where I can read up some details of it? Thank you!
